    Those lists appear based on Anniversary to Anniversary whereas we are doing calendar years I think so they are slightly off. For example unless they have changed the criteria Dr. Strange should be in Class of 2016 and not 2017 as listed. But they give a very solid idea of who is available.

    Oh NO!!!! 2016 breaks thanos/Panther and 2017 will break the Thorkoye!!!!!

    But seriously the rework on banner will change how people play 2016.

    In that era: Thanos/Blackbolt/Panther/Strange were the elite top tier 5*.

    Obviously, you've heard us all say pre nerf Gambit was god tier. DD/Thor. Don't forget Thor is only turbo charged with Okoye, other wise he's merely good not meta.

    Thanos + Strange is gonna be ouchy on the health packs. I agree Banner should see some use. Mine is so nearly champed but won't make it for Thursday.

    I don't think there is anyone in the 2016 group that is especially good at exploiting cascades, but you have quite a few options to eliminate specific colors from the board in this group between Quake, Howard, and Iron Man

    Hawkeye was also near-
    meta (on offense) with coulson in that era (pre-gambit 2017).

    I hate the same thought re: pathos.

    Also, I would day that halfthor was (and in many ways remains) the very best green/yellow/red battery in the game. But he also had the highest match damage at the time, so it wasn't until he could reliably hide behind a true-healing, damage-boosting tank (and gambit was buried) that he really took off.

    He may be able to hide in this event because some of the 2017 characters have been reworked to have modern match damage (Star lord, archangel, doc oc). Probably too slow to compete with reworked gambit though. . .

    I'm pretty sure HalfThors passive at half health was also buffed by Okoye when she was released. Or there was something that had to be re-worked with him?

    Yeah Okoye’s buff I recall was changed at some point to not affect tile break damage, and there are a mountain of powers with order of operations issues as a result. Also juggernaut is specifically excluded from it it appears, since his AOE shouldn’t be match-based but it is either coded wrong, or on purpose.

    IIRC, that was intentional. I'm pretty sure I remember someone commenting that the devs didn't want him to combo with Okoye. I don't really see the problem, tho, since they both need to tank, so they'd interfere with each other quite a bit.

    Yeah I never understood the juggernaut exclusion when iHulk was a thing at the same time. I imagine that was more for apocalypse than Okoye since those powers boost in the same way. But it’s dumb because that isn’t apparent from any in game description of the two powers, it looks like a bug unless you were on the forums when I asked the question.

    Also Magik's passive is essentially exactly the same as Juggernaut, and Okoye/Apocalypse/etc boost that.

    If you read that patch note, there is nothing about Juggs’ power description that contradicts it being allowed. You make a match, then he does a seperate pool of fixed AOE damage after that. It isn’t visibly tied to tile destruction at all, in fact it’s identical to 2* widows bonus damage that does get boosted.
