I took my higher level 2* characters up to grab 300 pts and get the token, and then switched to my set of underleveled 3* characters to tank a loss. So I'm sitting there at ~300 points, with a team that has its highest level in the 30's. Am I defending only with the team that last -won- a match, or that last -fought- a match? Because next to nobody has been attacking me! We don't really know, due to the difficulty of figuring this out (you can't easily ask someone who just attacked you who they saw, and you certainly can't ask the guys who skipped you what they saw), but we think it's the last team that won a match. It used to be the last team you played a match (losing is fine), but seeing there's no obvious tank team anymore while people are still trying to tank, we can rule that out as a possibility. It can still be something else (say, the team you won the most with), but at that point it's pretty much impossible to verify.

joshvox wrote: Fairly lame tournament. Usual team features a lv. 15 DD who is useless, I have a lv. 18 who is also useless. If you don't get top 45 you are stuck with Moonstone covers. Not that Dr. Doom is that useful either. I'm going to get the 300 pt. token and then quit most likely. If I can't get to top 45, I'd rather finish in top 250 and get the 3 standard tokens. At least then you have a (pretty small) chance of getting something useful. Awful weekend for puzzle quest. No PvE, **** PvP tourney, and a buy-in tourney.

Further confusing the issue, you can -lose- a match to gain a bracket placement. In other words, the system registers you with a team that loses a match. Does winning a match trump it? OKAY SOMEONE FIND ME ON THEIR DARN QUEUE, SAME USERNAME . Edit: The irony here is that Dr. Doom is one of the two 3-star characters I've so far thrown away covers for, and I'm currently ~30th in my tournament rank.

I think people will be freaked by a maxed red, but you can't conclude much from it in this context. He's buffed, and basically everyone else is using Daregimp, of course nearly everyone'll skip you. It's like you entered a 2* tournament with a sack of 141 HP-bags.
DirigiblePilot wrote: It's not that drastic, though. I mean, Daredevil has only a tiny bit more HP than OBW, and the red does about 1400 buffed. Especially if they have Wolverine, Classic Storm, etc., which they usually do, the red shouldn't be THAT bad. It's easy to not match environments, and the blue sucks at level 1. Sure, for all those people with ~1800 health heroes, that looks unappealing, but I'm at over 500 points and starting to face better and better people, so I'm surprised that not more people have been going for the points.

It's relative, is all I meant. When very nearly everyone is basically using a 2-person team, why bother attacking a trio for similar points? No Skip Tax^W^WVictory Bonus yet, so all it's costing to go "pfff, nah" is a click. Fair enough if you're ahead of the pack and worth more, though. I'd hit you.

Especially the red with trap getting just overwritten by anything that puts something on red tiles -- Wol**, punisher, daken and many others, hardly underused characters. I'd be more scared of walking into any of the red direct shots, we have them starting at mere 8 and much harder to avoid.

This tourney isn't utilizing his strength, because very few are actually using him. He's a third wheel. A DD, Hulk, Hood team; for example, would be devastating on defense. Hood stealing AP and Twin Pistols, DD setting traps, and the mountain that is the Hulk Thunderclapping causing cascades destroying traps and giving you more AP to replace them.
Wolfman wrote: I honestly can't quite decide which caracters I should run in this tourny. My lvl 130 Patch is a given, since he's easily my strongest caracter, but should I go with my OBW or my Ares as second character (both maxed)? I've been running OBW until now, but I figured I could ask what other people thought. I feel OBW has the advantage on offense (although Rampage after Berserker Rage is nice), but Ares might work better on defense. Patch and DD aren't exactly horrible together btw. Matching your own red traps gets you some nice bonus damage with strike tiles. Kinda like an Espionage that costs 7 AP to activate and only works with red tiles.
