No, I think you're being pedantic. I said gamora saw "basically zero usage" to counter the damage reduction metagame of the time, and that Hela is not relevant to the metagame today or in the past. Both statements are objectively true.

If I said Wasp was irrelevant and saw basically zero usage, and someone pointed out that one guy who uses Wasp for every fight, I guess they'd be technically correct too.

Oh. Well you said offended. Which is yet another incorrect statement to add to the pile of wrong you've got going lately.

So after 33 pages, the sizzle reel reads:

Chasm/iHulk are everywhere but also nowhere like a sort of Schrödinger's MPQ team
Silver Surfer's black hole is not getting stuffed with Chasm
    Special tiles are special

It's been a wild ride so far.

It honestly wasn't too bad for the last few weeks, since there was generally a good boosted character to use against Chasm. iHulk boost week was surprisingly good -- a boosted iHulk tanked everything so it made Chasm harder to use.

This week is pretty bad, though, and bringing your own Chasm only makes it worse. Seriously, in SIM I tend to run Chasm/iHulk/MThor or SW, and either way it just plain sucks - the Web tiles really fill up the board so damn quick MThor literally can't put out her charged tiles.

The AP drain is definitely what makes Chasm horrible to face, but I think he spams out the void and web tiles way too fast too.

Gambit's AP drain was ultimately why they had to kill him too. Passive AP drain is just an awful idea in a game like this.

Yawn. This thread is so lame. Nothing but 30+ pages of people whining and making pathetic straw man arguments and comparisons.

Two nerf threads going at the same time has to be a record.

To be fair, one broke off from another thread...

A record??? LOL. Gambit had like 8 threads going at all times. Bishop had every thread derailed into being about him. Go back in prehistory and look at how people talked about Sentry, or Ragnarok.

Looks like my random joke got more attention than it should have. I’m glad we finally have a requirement for nerfing though. We only need 6 more nerf threads.

Hey devs, when is the nerf coming?

1600 in Simulator. I skipped 30 times and found 1 team without Chasm.

So, I went Chasm hunting with my Colossus/Wanda/Monkey team, but forgot to put out a defensive team when I was done. Lost 197 points in an hour.

And after the Jan Q&A, we can safely say that they won’t change chasm and prefer to introduce new counters.

    ...what?
That was the first time they didn't rule out a nerf, so I would expect one to be imminent.
I mean, they went from "we're monitoring" to "we'll do what's best for the game" now.

And the game survived. Common theme? "Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!"

One thing I find contradicting is that players want to find teams that are relatively easy to beat and the teams that they use can float well in pvps, or acts as deterrence against attacks in pvps. Is this even possible? If there exists a team that is a good deterrence against attacks in pvps, Line or dedicated players would also put out such teams. Then, when players start climbing, they start to see only strong deterrence teams. I think shield sim is always a good reminder or a reflection of a pvp with no boost week.

I remember one of the most common reasons why other non-meta counters are not viable to past meta such as iHulkoye, Kitty/BRB or Colossus/Wanda etc is that they put a target on those players' backs. This applies to counters against Chasm/iHulk.

Should the dev start creating boring or unexciting character abilities so that such problems won't exist in the future where every future 5* is a glass cannon?

From what the devs have said on the past Q&A's and on reddit and discord, the devs have gone from - "We've been paying attention to how many teams use chasm and the win and loss ratio and we see no problem" to " We are starting to monitor chasm more closely" to "We don't like nerfs, but in the end we will do what is best for the game"

Sounds to me like the exact opposite. I'm expecting a chasm nerf on the horizon. My only question is will they give him minor updates and see how that goes first or will they be like the old dev team and nerf him into irrelevance.

As an aside, I’m happy the old nerf thread revived. The new nerf thread was boring for some reason.
