{Update} Upcoming Gameboard Fixes (3/19/21)

Yeah,  I kind of wonder if they can even roll out the change without a proper update.
This change is affecting how much I play the game, but at this point I would rather them take time to get it right, even if that’s two more weeks or whatever.
It kind of grinds me to say that, but the initial rollout felt like it must have been rushed into existence.  I really can’t think of any other explanation for some of the design choices.  

So I can take a longer semi-vacation.  Done it in the past because of things like work, and I survived,  so I can hang in there for now.

I fail to see why it’s necessary to go through all the trouble for a handful of whiners . No one in my alliance quit nor even complained . A few liked the new look . The slices we enter are all still as full as they always were . My placement scores haven’t changed in the past 3 weeks so the insignificant number who allegedly left apparently either haven’t or are irrelevant to the game as a whole . I hope the devs take into account the cost and time effectiveness over the past few weeks and realize there are always going to be Chicken Littles here no matter what they do . No one can please everybody, even our country works on the concept of only pleasing 51%. I either accept the results or emigrate.

It’s hard to understand what you’re complaining about.

you like it, you’re happy, good.  If everything is like you say it is, what is the problem?

You actually seem to be doing the most whining out of everyone.

it's definitely not a handful, I haven't seen so many people having an issue with the game before.  There are always some complaints but in my 7 years playing I've never seen so many, and I've never seen them be so consistent.

It's not just a matter of personal prefence or liking the old board better it's "I'm color blind and can't tell what's going on any more"  or "it gives me migraines to play"

I don't mind it personally but I have several alliance mates that have cut back or quit because the board physically hurts their eyes.  Just because you and your handful of anecdotal evidence don't mind it doesn't mean there aren't many who have problems, and it's in the games own best interest that everyone who wants to play can.  If you like this game it benefits everyone to have more players for the games longevity.

I haven't seen anyone whining just to whine except for you,  I don't know why you are concerned about other people's issues with the game board that have no effect on you.  Seems like complaining just to complain.

Until today I still having Dizziness issue with BRB's board tiles. Please just revert back to old game board and I think most didn't have any issue with the old goodness.

Objects in motion stay in motion, objects at rest stay at rest.

I am physically being separated from the game for almost a month by the game makers own ingredient panel and the narcissistic belief that we will just come back is well ,typical from President Ito and his group of bottomline dwellers.

It will take some motivation for me to come back with anything close to same passion.

Don’t think every day doesn’t lever more payers out to a different title.

I did what some people recommended and played with direct sunlight near by and while it helped a bit, I found myself asking "Why am I doing this?"  Why am I trying to adjust the way I play to make things less strenuous when it was a screwup on their end that "can't be fixed" for three weeks? 

If you are unaffected by the issues currently plaguing the game board, consider yourselves lucky.  I only have mild discomfort playing, I can't imagine what it's like for the colorblind, the people that suffer from epilepsy, and the migraine-sufferers.  The fact that the developers pretty much responded with "that sucks lol" felt like a real slap in the face without any real kind of solution other than "check it out in three weeks!"  I hope this whole fiasco is a wakeup call. It's just a shame that a game I enjoyed so much for years went down this path.

I'll probably keep checking this forum from time to time, just to see if the changes made were worth it or if they just open up a whole new set of problems.  In the meantime, I'll uninstall the game but leave my roster alone in case things work out for the better.  Happy gaming, everyone.

And not getting much headaches,  today I pushed it tho, did about half the PVE plus got into top 100 PVP and shielded.
and a few matches, no headaches, but for real, if I play for 20 minutes or so,I have a headache for the rest of the night.
not like I am gonna die or anything,  but it’s annoying and next week couldn’t come sooner for me.  I really hope they fix this.  

I want to love this game so much, but it’s like they are trying to make this harder than it needs to be. 

If you guys like it, great, but in the meantime,
zero option for those of us who it’s actually causing problems for.

such an easily avoidable situation too.  

I really hope they've learned from this.  REEEEALLY HOPE.

I dont understand why they couldn't revert back until they fixed the new board. Maybe it's way harder than that, but other games can roll back updates if they are detrimental .

I knew they worit so they could possibly put it out as late as April 10th.  The whole "or sooner" was utter ****.

Still no health warning.  This is also likely affecting their potential new players.  As I've said elsewhere, if it looked like this when I started, I wouldn't have stayed.

Just added the following update to the message in the thread.  

Update: 4/7/21: We want to provide an update to everyone and that is the team is still busy at work on these fixes we shared earlier. While it is still feasible to have them completed this week, it's looking like these fixes will be in place next week. We apologize for the delay but we need just a little bit more time to have everything ready to go. Thank you for your patience!

Probably, they are trying to work the fix for the other "hack" together with this update. We'll know if it happens when those top 1% players post here again.

What a MESS, you guys are showing everyone how to NOT do things.

You should have reverted the initial changes immediately and then work in the fixes for the amount of time needed. When changes like this go live you should ALWAYS be able to revert those changes...

I hope you will learn from this, but it might already be too late for this game...

Frankly, I’ve completely got used to it (except for the yellow power charge effect) and I think a complete change back would annoy me as much as it annoyed me when I first saw the new layout. I understand people who actually physically suffer from these changes are pissed, but « too late for this game » ? Noone I know has dropped it.

The fact there's so many complaints shows you either don't care about other people, or refuse to see what other people's problems are.

The colours currently are just plain bad. I have no colour blindness, but when my phone has its blue light filter on, green and blue are almost exactly the same. Red and purple are almost exactly the same.

I never had that problem with the old board. Have I stopped playing? No. Are the new updates disappointingly bad and made my experience worse? Yes.

All in all its made this game less enjoyable. That's bad.

My guess would be that they're in no hurry to adjust or fix any of this because the overall engagement metrics and spending metrics haven't changed appreciably.  Obviously I don't know, but if players were really leaving in the kind of numbers people are speculating about, it would have been changed by now.

Anecdotally I know of nobody who's quit over this, competition hasn't changed, and the spending I'm aware of seems about the same.  I know there have been some reports of people quitting or taking a break, but the majority of people who are upset seem to be playing (and spending) just as much as before. 

Why would they rush to adjust this if it's not impacting their business?

FYI,  this board has a feature that allows you to ignore and not see a specific user's posts.

I highly recommend it.

If all the people who said they were going to quit over this actually quit, this would've been fixed 2 weeks ago.

If all the people who were concerned about their friends' health walked out with them in solidarity, this would've been fixed 3 weeks ago.

I guess a 5* release is more important though...

I thought there was an attempt by the moderators to keep the dialog civil and not abusive, but I guess I was wrong about that. It seems like their only purpose here is to cut out advice on how to cheat and vaguely keep things on topic.
