Once you're an established player, the only "unicorn" one could honestly have would be a specific 4 star character they were working on. That is unless you're looking at bag head spiderman.
D3 has further ruined the game with their capricious, listless vision for the game given their focus on puking out 4 star characters at a break neck rate ( that is in addition to not fixing issues like crashing, making the game play slower " doc doom plotting " " AP stolen by mystique", the whole board shake, random board shuffles etc etc ). In other words, a regular player will almost undoubtedly get a good cross section of 1, 2 and 3 star covers, with the increasingly NEEDED 4 star covers being more or less, as a group, unicorns.


Given the number of 4 stars they should have their own draw system. There are tens of them, and 4 star tokens are tough to get at the best of time - not to mention buying slots gets expensive. But instead, they roll them in to the 3 star pvps, and now a good 3 star team gets steamrolled by some insider with not only upgraded 4 stars, but BUFFED 4 stars. I don't draw 2 star people, so why should I get nailed by buffed 4 star people.

As a guy who has played for 2 and a half years, the deck is more stacked for the comparably rare players who are in a high end alliance. These guys tend to get lots of feww iso, free gold coins, and free 4 star covers. They also tend to be fervent posters who cat call anyone who criticizes D3 - not realizing that the game has become far worse for most normal players.

Look at the current state of the game. The only story game ( besides DDQ ) is Ultron, which for many players, past round 3 is impossible to play. For PVP, we have the end of the season with Rocket and Groot. For me after playing a few matches, I'm getting tuned by people with buffed 4 star characters ( and low end groots ) while I have fully stacked 3 stars.

We have unreasonably difficult tournaments with limited playability in story mode. In story mode, getting the top prize has become increasingly difficult. In PVP mode we see poorly thought out buffed character sets which make absolute squashes regular, and getting points increasingly tough. But of course the answer is spend more money.

So the stalker is a group of moles making the game worse, and the unicorn is fun.

I thought I posted in here long ago. Guess not.

Looking at 4*s and above since they're the only ones that matter now. Jean seems permanently deleted from my cover packs. Since her introduction a year ago, I've drawn exactly 1 cover from LTs out of almost 120 attempts. Add to that another 2 covers from 2 different 10 packs and I've drawn exactly 3 covers since her introduction a year ago. The fact that she's even above 3 covers now is partially thanks to the fact she's so rare I had to fight for most PVPs that gave her at 1k progression, and even then its a hit and miss scenario.

Meanwhile her 5* counterpart is on the opposite end of the spectrum. I've already drawn 8 covers for her, and add to that the free cover in daily rewards and I'm at 4/1/4 now. Not sure if I should be happy or sad about this.

Luke cage 5/4/0, his yellow is no where to be found and I'd love to use him in PvP. Based on posts in this thread, I wouldn't be surprised if D3 had a secret algorithm that would change the odds based on an individual roster.

I was holding two covers for and going to Champion him until I discovered that he's only 5/5/2 on my roster. Of course, neither cover I was holding was . I guess I'll call that my unicorn for now.

Pulled a Prof X cover today and wonder of wonders it's the first from-token Prof X cover I've had that was anything but a .

3/5/0 now, and between champion rewards and the daily resupply he should be 5/5/0 in the next few months.

I guess PX is my new unicorn?

I'm going to update from my post about a month ago:

My stalker is now Pro X. I have a fully covered, underleveled Pro X for Winfinite use and a dupe Pro X at 2/1/3. That's 19 Pro X covers. Crazy.

Unicorn is now 4 Star Deadpool black. He's 3/0/5.

I already posted something on this earlier, but I did have something funny that's related (really only on the stalker side). Since the drop rate changed to 15%, I have double-digit draws of two characters: Chunk and Iceman. Even more amusingly, I have the same number of draws of each. It makes me laugh and cry.

I think I'd have to call IM46 my unicorn for now; instead, I'm being stalked by 5Cap (nine draws; almost double-digits). Again, should I laugh or cry?

my last 144 is mnmags and his replacement has been at 2/5/5 forever. where can a guy find a mnmags blue? that cover and 1 cap yellow are all I need to bring all 2s to 13 (well, other than bagman who's at 4/2/4 now). then just need 650K. well, after I finish my last 4 3*s. doom and daredevil up next unless I get some ock and falcon covers. ock and falcon just don't motivate me.

My 4* Thor has been stuck at 2/5/5 for months now. I've sold off 13 yellow and blue covers since I maxed those colors.

I may finally get a final red sometime in the year 2027.

You can find it in the progression rewards for the Simulator...

After 5+ months of play I still don't have Luke's yellow and rocket's blue, other covers are 5/5 for both.

Similar here - I have a 5/2/1 Prof X, and I only got my first yellow by opening 280 taco tokens to finally get that coveted yellow cover (I planned to save to 300 to empty the vault, but Iceman Blue and Prof X yellow were too tempting to pass up!).

It's a set pattern. They are currently doing the third Powers for all the DDQ characters, then they'll start over with the first and you'll have a shot at Luke Cage yellow.

I was gonna claim clairvoyance, but Quebbster had to go and ruin that. What a jerk.

The characters follow the same pattern every 40 days. In a 120-day period, you'll get everybody's first power in a set order, then second power, then third power. The cycle we're on now, that means Rocket's blue today, and the next time Luke Cage comes up, it'll be his yellow.

I'd say my Unicorns are 3* Sam Wilson and Spider-man, because they're both characters I picked up really early on, and feel like would actually be using if they weren't far, far behind *3 characters that I picked up much later. I'm close to championing some of those other characters now, and Sam Wilson still hasn't picked up his power yet.

I'd also love more than 2 4* Wolverine covers, but I feel lucky even having those two

2* Bullseye is still my stalker. First 2* to reach max champion, and I've already have 7 more covers for him sitting in my queue.
