Those changes sound good on paper, but I get the feeling that it won't "feel" easier regardless. I don't exactly check the levels on anybody in these waves, and a flood of special tiles doesn't "feel" easier to deal with when they're all 20 strong instead of 25.

It is nice to hear, but I get the feeling people playing the game won't notice anything other then "Ultron Prime is not in Wave 1-3"

Yeah, we'll see how it plays out. At first glance, I get the vibe that it will be better than the past few days, but still worse than before. It will remain more difficult for newer transitioning players who actually need the reward here, and still doesn't add anything for players suited for these enemies to transition to their next stages of roster development.

Yeah, like. Hey! There's Symbiotes in the 1* DDQ node! (Or have been a few days ago, IIRC)

Does them being level 15 make them feel like any more or less ****?

Does them being level 10 instead help?

I do think that these sorts of enemies totally should be in TBE, because we have them and it's more fun to have the larger variety of goons at their disposal then just Maggia, Doombots, Iso-s, and Ninjas forever. But they do acknowledge that they are harder enemies then said Maggias and junk with the lower levels.

Do you think there's a way to "balance" between goons with pure levels?

(Also, Ultron Sentries, by being board movers unlike Goons, should probably not count as them, because c'mon. I always figured that was the definition of a hero vs a goon)

I proposed that same definition and became certain I was right because Raisin disagreed with me. : )

Goons drop CD tiles and auto-gen AP.
Heroes/Villains move tiles and do not generate AP. Just because Ultron's sentries were underlings doesn't mean they were goons. They are just heroes with 100% passive abilities (and I believe a flat match damage scale across all colors, but I may be incorrect on that and they might actually have a primary/secondary/tertiary/team/other damage set).

Personally, the DDQ was the last bastion of fun I had been having in this game due to the scaling issues. This was the one thing I could do after being frustrated with the rest of the game that would relax me and remind me that this game at its core is still enjoyable. Now it has just gotten annoying and with that they have taken away the last reliably fun thing in the game for me. So I've officially decided to not spend any more money on this game. I encourage everyone else that is frustrated to do the same until they get back to realizing that all this focus on higher end play is wrecking the game for developing and casual players.

tinykitty this new DDQ. 4 waves, none of which were goons... Symbiotes in the 1*...

It kills me how D3 looked at the one thing they got most right and said, "dang... We really need to kitty this up."

mod edit: please do not intentionally go around the profanity filter. this not an official warning, but please refrain from such language in future posts.

Anyone else find it interesting that the devs took it upon themselves to change DDQ due to lack of diversity and stale gameplay, yet now an Ultron goon node (or two) is now in almost every enchilada?
  • no more big enchilada for 2* -> 3* transitioners.
since they've changed it, i've only been able to do it once.
they really screwed it up big time.

the icon_ultron.png sentries/fliers were bad enough, but they still went ahead and added those damn gunners, who like to spam their crit tiles ALL over the damn place.

after the core meltdown ability triggered, the AI made a match which started a cascade which left my icon_thor.png with 2k HP from ~11k icon_lol.gif

and forget matching them since they spawn in so many random places...but good god D3, do you expect players with 2* to be able to handle this sudden raise in difficulty?

sure, to most of us with a roster of maxed out 3* transitioning to 4* will seem like a breeze, but what were they thinking when they made this change?

DDQ was supposed to be a quick pit-stop for a 3* cover and ~4k ISO, not a slugfest with an AI who unlike players, doesn't care how many times it dies cause it always starts at full health.

Haha, TWO Deadpools in the final node? Whom to hit first??

I guess this is random even though it's breaking the rules of their own game. I sure would like to run two DP's...

    Round 1 Cage
    Round 2 Ultron bots
    Round 3 Thing
Round 4 Double DP (that sounds about as dirty as it is)

WOW, I thought I'd seen some trolling by D3 in these nodes before this....

I had no troubles with it, but can't imagine being a 3* transitioner trying that on. Ouch.

Still dreaming of a day in DDQ without Ultron bots. Are they 1/3rd of all nodes just to make sure we "randomly" get them every day?

Yeah that was some hardcore trolling today.

It's nice that they're doing another balance pass, but it'd be nice to get the reason for why this changed to loonie in the first place.

    "youre supposed to lose." tm

honestly though i really think they do things and no one there actually plays the game to see the real effect of their changes. wouldnt be so bad if sentries were in waves 3 and 4 only, or 2 and 4 if they went back to the old goon/character/goon/character format. having them in wave one is the real killer.

Wow that was just stupid. My champed Patch/KK/BP were destroyed today. Patch was the only one left alive going into the last round and spiderman perma-stunned him until he died. Healing factor does absolutely squat when Spiderman spams a stun every freaking turn for 5 turns.

Bravo D3 for making me break out winfinite to beat TBE. Because all 3* transitioners have that combo ready to go.
  • Todays big E is filthy.

cage, ultron bots, thing and to finish it off two dps which isn't even legal all for one single solitary 3* cover for a sub par character.

what a tinykitty load of tinykitties.

    WHINERS. icon_lol.gif

My 2* team (a few extra levels from championig each):
    2*OBW + 2*Magneto +2* Storm
    as always steamrolled over AI.

Steal pink with OBW, feed the Storm, go from one wave to another with Magneto's red.
  • Today was quite hard, managed to beat it with Lazy Thor, 2 star.png Mags and Storm (both champions on level 130 and 117) but it was tight in 4th wave.
  • Dear D3,

I was thinking about dropping some cash to the game and continue playing; now I think I'll just scale back my playing and not drop the cash. Change it back.

Another win for the op wave team!

The cash threats always make me laugh. If a slightly harder ddq has you running away then it was only a matter of time before you quit anyway. Change it back and you will continue playing lol. So basically you only play the game because of the easy 4k iso each day? If it actually becomes a challenge you are gone?

It was boring it needed a re-fresh. It was such a chore I let my six year old do it for me. He never died either.
  • I have no complaints about the changes personally. However, I can understand those that do.

Was this their attempt at breaking the the laws. I liked it, was very Deadpoolish. Just wish I understood how they can change some things without an update an others not. I feel like Rocky in Creed "What cloud?". Getting old it sucks.
