Welcome to the new and "improved" DDQ

I get some of the thinking behind the change... Maybe DDQ was getting a little stale, maybe it was too easy for some folks...
But why not address those issues -AND- the ISO crunch at the same time, by just adding another tree?
I posted this in another thread about encouraging players to use different characters, and since I am a shameless self promoter, I will paste it here as well... it's a way to change up the DDQ, and do it in a goofy Deadpool-esque way:jobob wrote:How about another 3-mission path in the DDQ?... "DEADPOOL'S GRAB BAG"
The missions would skip the character selection screen, instead going straight to the mission with a randomly-selected team from your roster. The first node would take 3 random 2*, the second 3*s, and the third 4*s (or... alternatively, 1*s, 2*s, and 3*s... with a 4th node pulling random 4*s every 5th day for a legendary a la Crash of the Titans)0 -

Everyone should have the top 2*s, especially if they think they should be winning 3* covers in TBE.0 -
First the flood of 4* heroes and no change on ISO gains to support the transition, now this. **** devs...0

Had no problem getting through with what I have until the screwed...uh updated the big E. If we need specific characters to get through how about a warning so we can prep? Oh right, that might not show the devs distaste for the developing player. Maybe they shouldn't be trying to force us to use specific characters. Or making a mode that is supposed to be for transitioning players too difficult for transitioning players. I know, it's the players fault for daring to not base their lives around the game and study every character and wanting to just play and have fun. What bastards we are0 -
I just realized that the most important thing in the new DDQ is stunning. With that, the early rounds don't get enough AP for the later ones to go nuts.
My new DDQ team is : , ,
The first two just stun when necessary and Thor adds in good yellow/green damage.
Every switching to that, I haven't lost.0 -

Which has been my case, I couldn't get a good chain going till almost the 3rd wave and by that point I was low on HP to not make it through the 4th. This game is a combo of strategy and luck. Also you have to take it in mind that maybe not everyone is as far along in the game as you are and have a powered up Mags, Storm or Thor to even attempt a strategy like that.
Exactly Mags purple is very key, but when you have board that has little purple or it's scattered that strategy falls apart until you can get it going… which was literally my case for 3 matches until the 4th time I finally got a good board. Like I said I'm all for a challenge but I also all for keeping the game fun. It becomes tedious and boring if we all have to stick to the same trio just to make progress in this game.0 -
I just got destroyed on today's DDQ worse then I ever have before....
I guess I took those mutations for granted and they wiped my team on the first stage.
First time I have ever lost....0 -
Today's was pretty easy to me using Lcap, blade, and kamala0

I think his point was probably more along the lines of you need to use some 2*'s in ddq anyway, so why wouldn't you have the best 2*'s available to you.0 -
dang. today is the NEW AND IMPROVED "new and improved" DDQ, and I don't have Sentry (one of the few 3* I don't have)....
is it any better now?0 -
No Ultron goons today (and two goon-only nodes); wish that would happen more often.0
-
STOP annoying your customers.....STOP with the grinding mentality....STOP making changes where it is not needed.....STOP with the essential characters in events.....STOP being so cheap....STOP with the level of difficulty..... AND all this with a please....Did I forget something !!!0
-
So what did you fight in the Big Enchilada today (please be specific)? I don't have the required character to see it for myself.
Was it better now?0 -

Can't remember precisely levels/health or even round one, but:
Wave 1: SWitch as only tile mover
Wave 2: Thug/Muscle/Boss (whatever that goon is called, old wave-three node)
Wave 3: three Tiatsu (about 3K health, old wave-one node but scaled up)
Wave 4: The old wave-four wave with DP/Doom/Fury0 -
The DDQ was much better balanced, today. I enjoy the recent change to the DDQ, but it was a bit too hard with all those Ultron goons.. today felt better balanced. It was still a bit tougher than it used to be, so I'm interested to hear what others thought.
I'm running level 166 - 175 champed 3*, for reference.0 -
It felt better balanced for the 2* rosters. Because it is still mostly random with very specific rules they've introduced, it'll take the full cycle to get the true feel for it. Was much easier for my usual 3* team than before these tweaks that took effect today.
The 2* transitioners will find it challenging but not impossible.0 -
I used the same team as I did yesterday, lvl 112 Beast - lvl 112 Doc Ock - lvl 111 2* black widow. Yesterday I needed a really good board to get past round 1. Today I got through on the first try. Felt challenged but never overwhelmed. If the difficulty stays around this lvl I think it will be good.0

Today's bottom essential node looked so much like the pre-"enhanced" DDQ that I thought this new cycle went back to the old DDQ.
But then I got that particular rug pulled out from underneath me....
:tears:0 -
Monday, my team of kk, magneto, bullseye ( all around lvl 149) breezed thru with little damage. In today's NEW new and improved version, I lost bullseye in first round, and only survived the node thanks to kk's heals.
THIS WAS NOT AN IMPROVEMENT.
I'll say it again: they took the ONLY part of the game that wasn't a stress-inducing grindfest and made it like every other part of the game. Why? Why can't we have one part of the game that is relaxing to play? Pvp and pve provide plenty of challenge to the 'bored' player!0 -
The DDQ Big Enchilada is still too overpowered, it is better but it is still a little too much. I tried 3 times first with:
2* Storm Level 106
2* Thor Level 109
2* Magneto Level 106
Made it to the second wave (to be fair I got a terrible drop with barely any purple)
The second 2 times I made it to the last wave but lost with:
2* Thor Level 109
2* Magneto Level 106
2* OBW Level 117
I used boosts each time as well.
I think it still needs a little more work, I don't expect to win every time but I should not use boosts and still lose out each time as well.
Before this change I was slowing making the 2 to 3 transition, this nearly puts it at a halt.0
