When it resets it, you don't actually get the points. It scrolls points and looks like you gain them, but the end points are exactly the same as the points you start out with. I checked it to verify. You start the Galactus you unlocked with 680,000 points, beat him, the points will start somewhere and scroll like you're getting points but you end up right back at 680,000 points. All it does is waste your health, and reset your Galactus timer to 8 hrs. The only benefit is another shot at one of the 4 victory prizes... if you are victorious and if you don't get 20 iso instead. It must be the Galactus Essential that actually has to be beat to reset the point value or something. But it must be a glitch that any essential unlocks him... I haven't tried checking to see if he's unlocked after DDQ, since I don't want to mess up my Galactus timer. When I'm finished with my last clear of Galactus I'll see if DDQ essential unlocks him too.

I can confirm that DDQ essential unlocks the node but you still don't receive points on completion. Also, for those not able to run winfinite, 3* Cyclops, OBW and Scarlet Witch are a viable team against Galactus for round 5. Use all boosts and go after blue and pink tiles to reset and steal AP and gather AP for Cyclops when you can. Still luck dependent tho.

ok, the one time I tried it someone else must have come out of playing him too because his health did come down. thought I had stumbled onto something. back to the drawing board.

In round 4, still beating him pretty regularly with IF, SW, and XFW. A lot depends on how lucky you get with initial board setup.

Pray to your deity of choice.

Go in with full boosts and hope you get lucky. I've had moderate success with IF/SW/Xforce. 6 attempts on round 6 galactus resulted in two kills, 3 attempts where I got him down to 3k health and then retreated to save on healthpacks and one attempt where I was just destroyed on his 4th turn. Might sub in Cyclops instead of sw... Her purple generation takes too long and when it does go off its pointless if there are cd tiles or cosmic tiles surrounding her cd tile.

only thing I know is luck. got lucky once in 6 and had tons of cds and cosmics on black and blue. fist took out the black and xf took out the blue. gave me a few extra turns basically reseting his side of the match on about turn 3. was able to get there barely. no idea how the upcoming rounds will be won when we can't just heal up and try again like the ddq 4* node.

oh, and my third was mags, who was able to get a red off. basically match purple, cast fist purple and hope for black. if no purple, match red twice. if no purple and not 2 red matches, try like hell to match away the cds as much as possible or anything that can lead to combos/cascades - all luck from there.

They're still working about 50/50 for me in round 6. Luck is obviously key, though. I had some very friendly cascades on two of those wins, including one where Surgical Strike took out the one remaining blue tile on the board – but that one tile was blocking a match-five that touched off a huge cascade and got me enough AP to beat Galactus senseless. Welcome to the MPQ Lottery.
  • wipe. do essential. repeat 5 times. wait 8 hrs. repeat.

I'll point out something that will help (a little.) You can retreat. I've been going in, doing as much damage as I can, and as soon as the cosmic tiles will fuel is "whales whales whales" button, I retreat. As far as I can tell I'm still contributing.

Since I'm retreating, my character's hit points don't matter for that node particularly, either. It just sucks for everything else.

Hilarious, serves devs right that someone still found a way to semi-screw with their event by retreating. I bet in further iterations of this event they will remove the ability to retreat or something stupid like that.
  • Juggs, OBW and Cyclops have been at least damaging him in round 4 before dying horribly. I've also retreated tactically a few times, but it feels like I am just wasting rainbow boosts at this point.

The only team I've had anything even CLOSE to resembling consistent wins with (and that just means I've been him 3 times with it in the later rounds) is Loki, CMags, XF Wolverine. Boost all colors and you've got active board shake in every color but yellow, and then yellow has a decent chance at board shake.

WHEN IT WORKS, Galactus basically doesn't get a turn. You are able to shake the board constantly into cascades that either wipe out his tiles/timers and/or do a bit of damage to whittle him down. I was only able to beat him once today in Round 6 with this so far and now everyone is dead and I have no healthpacks. But that's the one team that's actually worked for me more than any other.

I took a suggestion on this threat and altered it a bit. The original suggestion was : Iron Fist, X-Force Wolverine, and Starlet Witch. Since my X-Force is only lvl 94 I went with Psylocke instead (logic: her powers don't take much AP to use and you need to kill him quick). My plan was go to for purple, and I used a +2 AP on Purple and Blue. This did not work at all since my board started with 3 purples and Scarlet Witch's count-down tile went to the very bottom corner and didn't make a crit. However I still was able to win. The key? Psylocks' Bewilder. I was naturally fed Blue matches to start and used Bewilder. The round before I was about to lose Bewilder went off and I stole 20+ Red AP. I was then able to use Psychic Knife 3 times in a row and defeat him. And yes, Bewilder stole Red for me, even tho others have stated that Black was his strongest color for them. Not sure if it is random or differs by power. No clue.

So pairing Psylocke with someone with a stronger Red may be the way to go (Even after the three psychic Knifes back to back to back, he was still alive and Iron Firsts passive had to finish him off). But I like going for purples with Iron First and Scarlet Witch as a good backup plan still, so I think I am sticking with this team.

Summary: Scarlet Witch, Iron Fist, Psylock. Go for Blue and Purple and use Bewilder and Iron Fist's Purple Ability.

I'm doing reasonably well in round 4 with SW+OBW+Hood. Go in with boosted blue and purple, collect more blue and purple ASAP, then keep extending countdowns and stealing AP until you get Twin Pistols going. Use Hood's black to speed SW's countdowns to keep that purple AP flowing. I have a feeling this won't work beyond round 4, though.

Im guessing this is Round 3 or earlier. You wont have enough time after that to do anything. In round 6....I get 3 turns on average (and think about that: turn #3 is AFTER I could use any skills so its really just TWO. Yes, you get TWO moves to gather AP then you are dead).

I have had moderate success (4/6 in Rd 6) using IF/XF/OBW with p/b, g/b, all. It relies on having either a blue four match or two blue threes....but is decent from there since green/purple/black shake the board. Id also suggest I have been luck (had match 5s on start for two of those wins which sped AP build).
  • Has anyone tried with Shehulk?
Hopefully get lucky with her green and use red to clear bottom of the board?
  • colossus fast ball allows one of your toons to survive the 1M onslaught... that said, at level 6... does not matter, you are gone in 3 moves. Colossus only buys you 2 more moves.

I must've had any unlucky drop. I feel like I wasted a turn on this one. I didn't even scratch him.
