Just a quick one -- if you put the Hellfire Club support on 5* Emma, she will boost the first Court Death that goes off (Thanos tries to stun her before doing his damage, but the support turns her invisible).

AsEcho is a great black color generator when you choose Kun L’un as her red. It costs 7 and puts 9 black tiles on the field. Once you have 12 AP, it becomes a cheap nuke. Her black passive may be her best power, despite her making a pathetically weak strike tile. If a power is fired, her match and ability damage go up dramatically. So her red and her purple almost double in power each time an opponent power is fire. And her purple passive is solid as well. The only problem being, you don’t know which purple or black trap tile you should destroy to get the nuke damage.
That’s wher JJ comes in. After getting 6 blue AP, you can see where enemy trap tiles are. That includes the ones Echo create with any match 4s
Cyclops pumps up Echo’s match damage with his yellow and creates more red with his green.
The other team is

Echo makes more black for Magik to drag the team to limbo. And once in limbo, Echo becomes the red and purple match maker to take advantage of the match damage bump.
So...is it possible to have a fun Black King team for PVE? I tried using 4* Cap or 5*mThor and...it just doesn't seem to fit. Tried Black Knight as well.
I just rediscovered 5* Magneto. Paired with Kitty and Carbage he will punish tile-spammers. Magneto red destroys enemy tiles when they are laid. His yellow makes good SAP tiles. Carbage makes attack tiles when you match any SAP tile. Kitty does what Kitty does best.

Once you have enough black for Limbo, throw your team with Heim yellow to save health, once they land, Limbo will trigger for the extra match damage fun from all the cascades.

So I've been fiddling with Black King, and he's amazing with characters that go invisible, and can strike for him from the back. This keeps him up front tanking, building up his energy, without spending it with matches. I really like Ghost with him, she covers Red and Purple, and hits really hard. Gater Loki, Invis Woman, and Gargantos are others I've found this mechanic works well with. I tend to disregard 4* Miles, but he would be a fine choice too. I also enjoy some of the Airborne mechanics with Black King too, like Ikarus or 4* Vulture.

I tried running shaw with Gwenom since her match damage drops to 0 in simulator, but my black king is still in the 280s so he ended up dying kind of fast.
5* Phyla-vell 5/3/5 Onslaught 3/5/5 Doc Ock 4/5/4 or 3/5/5
Put this team together and it feels pretty good. Phyla-Vell is the heavy hitter and deals most of the damage with her CDs and her red nuke. Onslaught gets rid of the TUPs so Phyla-Vell can make more matches in colors and Doc Ock can get her AP and swap tiles to create matches and her CDs.
Doc Ock is really a superb support character for heavy hitter. He’s probably a really good character to ascend.
Nice! I was going to run Coleslaught with her too. 4Doc is definitely amazing, I wish I could ascend him, he is slow but one of the most fun and versatile characters.
I have been trying to find a team for Phyla also. The one I see the most success with currently (able to be the final PVE fight):
5Phyla, 4Bong, 4Beast. Phylas serious flaw is that she needs super heals or strong protect tiles. Fortunately she pairs incredibly well with Bong, so she can tank everything and keep herself topped off quite nicely with her constant chip and red nuke. Between Bong and Phyla there are special tiles everywhere and we all know how Beast loves to eat those up. If you have either of these 2 4's ascended it would be quite a bit better (Beast specifically, because Phylas black would love to boost above Beasts crazy match damage).
For the funsies if healthpacks don't matter: 5Phyla, 5Hex23, 4Beast This is fun if you want to watch your team heal for 40plus k for 6 yellow.
Or mix and match with: 3Loki, 4Doc, Shang (but the goal is always to try and find a team that doesn't use Shang). Loki and 4Doc can almost winfinite.
