Gambit Trivia: if you can put him to sleep or toss him airborne it lifts the Stacked Deck power block. Not sure anyone in this batch can do it, but it’s an edge case you may want to squirrel away for the future.4* Riri can send him Airborne.
I’ve been enjoying running Riri, Gamora, and Vulture for class of 2017 PvP. Vulture takes to the air and generates Blue and Green, Riri uses Green to send opponents airborne and Gamora uses Blue to stun. Surprisingly effective against the 5* teams I’ve been dealing with, though very squishy and absolute trash on Defense. At least I’m only chasing my 50 wins.🤷♂️

New fun team with recent support and a rebalance.
Heimdall 4/5/4 (omnipotent city support lvl3)
5* Vulture currently 4/4/3 (not champed y
Prowler 5/5/3 (tinkerer support lvl 3)With prowler’s rework, you start the battle off with 2 free fortifications and since you have the rainbow covered, you start the match ahead of the curve to fire a power. The new prowler with the tinkerer support just fills the stage with forts as soon as you match one or 2 enemy SAPs because he makes a new enemy SAP after he matches one and fortifies them both on that turn and the next.
Heimdall + Vulture are a very in sync duo. And my vulture ain’t even champed yet. Heimdall throws vulture up and on the next turn you get 2 yellow, 2 red and 1 black (will be 3, 2, and 2 after I champ him). With all the forts on the field, Heimdall’s red will be cheap AND quite strong. Omnipotent city is one of the best supports in the game and on a godlike character, they get a bunch of buffs and advantages.
When I champ vulture, he’ll start to hit hard and then I can really do some work.

Nice and fun team, thanks!

Found another fun one in the 2022 Class event. Deathlok, MThor, and 5* Riri. 2 red and blue AP a turn, and focus point damage from Deathlok, Riri can fill the board with charge tiles very fast with her 3 cost red, and provide a free turn with her green, and MThor's constant cascades make for a great AP generation team, plus she destroys Riri's overcharge tile most of the time. The board fills with charge tiles, and the destroyed charge tile count rises pretty quickly as well, so once you're ready you can swap from Riri's red to MThor's and start blowing people up.

I encountered an under-leveled HiEvo + Deathlok + Kang team in PvP and they actually gave my A team somewhat of a problem. I still won, but I was pretty impressed.

Haven't tried that myself but I will - the the 2 blue and red a turn really gets the team going and the focus point damage helps cut through your initial target quickly, especially since you're targeting red and blue anyways.

I really love this new duo with the 3rd being fluid.
Ascended Karnak 5/4/4
Killmonger 5/5/3
3rd character depends on the enemyAscended Karnak is the goods. His match damage rivals the strongest of those in the 5* tier and he starts every turn off with a VERY strong shield tile if one doesn’t exist.
But once turn 4 hits, his match damage is OUT OF CONTROL he still gets the 560% match increase tacked on so he’s one shotting full life 5*s with match 3 with a crit. Ph5 Colossus IS NOT strong enough to hold up for long. He won’t get one shotted but he still takes incredible damage from match 4s from Karnak. To further put it in perspective, my Ascended Karnak is at lvl 454 with 1034 black match damage. After turn 4, that black match damage jymps to 7000. That is not a typo.
Killmonger adds a couple vicious twists to Karnak. First off, he adds 150% more damage if make a match in the enemy’s strongest color. This tacks on to Karnak’s insane match damage after turn because Karnak’s match damage gets added to his static match damage and KM’s only prove on the match.
2ndly KM and Karnak are 2 of the best crit makers in the game outside of America Chavez. And KM’s black passive punishes enemy crit matches by either stealing up to 5 red or by dealing a big chunk of damage. You can pick and choose whose red power you want to use. KM’s create 2 crits. If there’s a crit or 2 on the field, use Karnak’s red to get a good bit of damage and cascade AROUND the crit and then probably get a free match with that crit tile. And his blue creates 3 crit tiles.
Now the 3rd character pretty much becomes what you want to help that duo or shut down what the opponents team has. I’ve used……
Ph5 Collossus (if the opponent has a character or two who’s strongest color is yellow)
HiEvo (if the opponents strongest color is red)
Bruce Banner/Hulk (extra turn and some cheeky damage early)
Wanda (defense vs AOE and a little bit of tile manipulation)
Ascended Rogue (a great green outlet and a great anti-cascade character and defensive tank)
5* Jeffrey (another great green outlet vs special tiles that aren’t CDs or repeaters)
Crystal (great green outlet and defensive healer)6 -
I’ve been looking for interesting teams to use in Simulator with my ascended 4s, and here are some I’ve tried:
Mr F (still a 4, mine is 370)/Carbage/Medusa 5. This team will probably be better when Mr f can be raised, and I think 4* carnage will be a nightmare at 5. Carbage makes enemy tiles, Mr f heals when the get matched and eventually fires a free power, and Medusa does Medusa things. If anyone sees it on defense let me know what you think.
Fi5K/sabretooth 5/ge doom - this team hits very hard actively and passively, but I suspect you have too much black competition for the ai to use it right on defense. I have tried prowler and colossus in place of doom, and I think prowler will be great post ascension. Colossus is as solid as he ever is. If anyone has a better black battery than doom or enemy strike battery than sabretooth I’m curious. Maybe domino would be good here when her batch arrives.

5torm is quite a good black battery.

Health is super low but has 3 colors of board control. I’ll give it a run. I also ran Sersi and Prowler with sabretooth, and removed purple; won but it wasn’t pretty. The above team with Fi5K and doom or colossus can go a couple matches.
Edit: Storm works quite well

Apocalypse - Omega Red (5) and Vulture (5).
Been looking for a partner for Vulture since he is a decent battery with some other utility and tried him out with what is already a pretty great pairing that suffers from complete color overlap. Vulture makes them a rainbow team and his purple passive when maxed feeds Apoc perfectly.
With +2b/p +2r/y and +2 all you can make 1 purple match turn 1 sending Vulture airborne for 2 turns. 1 yellow match on the next turn gets you Apoc repeaters out so all your damage is boosted. Once Vulture returns from airborne you can fire Omega's red and Apoc's black and it is pretty much a done deal.

My vulture team is vulture/yellowjacket/deathlok.
Vulture stays airborne, jacket stays invisible, deathlok collects some AP then goes down while the villains leave him hanging... But it's fun.
Separate team:
I put Jane with DareDevil and Ghostpool because they both have CDs that you want to get destroyed...(I'm sure it's been done because there's no way someone hasn't talked about it, but I must have missed it)... Correct green and red, put out the CDs, watch Jane destroy them every turn (yours or the enemy teams) extra damage and stuns every round.
Plus it's a rainbow team with multiple stun options, multiple passive damage options, board shake, and nukes. Not top meta, but it has been fun.

New Team Alert!
Ph5 Cyclops 3/5/5 (Fantasticar Support lvl 3)
Ascended Talos 3/5/5
America Chavez 3/5/5 or 5/3/5I’d been messing around with the Fantasticar Support and I really don’t think it’s that great on any of the FF. But I really like the level 3 perk where if the equipped character makes a match, you swap some pairs of tiles and add 1 TUP.
What happens often is, if your character makes a match in the first 4 turns, 2 pairs of tiles will swap, and you’ll gain 1 TUP. When the tiles swap, you’ll get another match, gain another TUP, and 2 pairs of tiles will swap AGAIN and you’ll gain another TUP. You’ll have turns where you gain 6 TUP after making only 1 match. During the first 4 turns, you’ll often end up with 7+ TUP without making ANY TUP matches. But who uses all that TUP well? Obviously Okoye, but she’s already equipped with a support (Royal talon fighter).
Enter Ph5 Cyclops.
His yellow swaps a pair of tiles for every TUP you have AND your teammates gain 65%-75% increase in base match damage. It’s cascade city. So who do you want choose as the partner? You don’t want someone who will tank Cyclops’ color at least until after turn 4.
That’s where ascended Talor comes in.
Talos sucked before his rebalance last year. His rebalance made him a really good AP thief and his black gives him a 12%-17% bonus match damage increase for every AP Talos has more than the enemy in any color. Combined with cyclops’ yellow, that damage gets out of hand. Then you add America Chavez, and you’re popping crit matches really early and nuke match 3s.
This may not work as well once I can ascend AC next Tuesday.

I haven't tried this team, but it sounds fun.
I just wanted to reply because I agree that Talos got really good after his buff, and that ascended Talos is great. I'm not sure anybody else has noticed yet!

5 Evo, 4 Northstar, 4 Night Crawler
I've always really enjoyed Evo and Northstar, but I decided to put them together today despite the complete color overlap so Evo could tank for NS and NC, and oh boy was it fun. NS and NC already go very very well together, but Evo was the missing piece.
If there is anything Northstar does very well is, get AP (usually in his/Evo's colors), and fast. Prioritize black, and airborne someone who will net you a lot of AP moved to the top. This will cascade quickly and get your AP combos / NC pink going (I used it when yellow was the top color). Before I knew it, Evos yellow had been thrown like 15 times, he was full health / unkillable, and the cascades destroyed the level 10 "difficult" fight with no friendlies injured.
It's definitely not the fastest team, but it was super fun, and I love teams like this; teams that implement weirder lower level characters and destroy the hardest fight. Your NC and NS don't even need levels (but Evo does ).

Saw this team in Simulator, it gave me trouble so I stole it:
Iceman, Kang, Mighty Thor.
I had tried Iceman with Mighty Thor before, so she would destroy his blue countdown tiles, but then there's no blue tiles to make matches to have Iceman make more blue countdowns. Kang fixes this, since he makes blue AP when your friendly countdown tiles are destroyed. Also, his purple hits very hard if you can get it on a turn when a bunch of Iceman's tiles have avoided Thor's destruction.

Ever since the rework done on NS, i've been pairing him with SC and go hunt teams with at least 1 character with red/purple as 2nd strongest color. usually the match ends fairly fast after 1-2 NS black cast. so now this duo has been my go-to for nearly all matches. dun really mind those retals in PVP as i aim for 50 wins...

Northstar is ascendable now too!
