Perhaps it might even be goal of the tournament...

I disagree. I think the goal by America only 34 seconds in will be. Even though it is only the 6th fastest goal in a world cup, it takes it for this one so far.

Being a German/American, I am conflicted on who I want to win. What makes it even worse is that they are in the same group.

What a strike by Cahill!! Shame that he got the yellow shortly after so he is done. At least he ends his World Cup career with that bomb of a shot.

Curios to see what Spain does, they should be out for blood.
  • I think we can just say goodbye to Spain.
  • Casillas just had the most awful couple of months...

    Uh-oh!!!

Guess Spain is out for their own blood. This is unreal.
  • They are going to pull a France 2002. Win your first star then crash out of the group stage in the next one.

Italy also won in 2006 and got eliminated during the group stage in 2010, so it's more of a european thing lately icon_razz.gif
  • Wonder what treatment the Spain players get in the break...

The 2 Chilean goals were just so beautiful, full control of the situation in the utter chaos all around.

Hm, the face of the Walrus was not really promising.

I fully expected Chile to bring it to Spain and give them a tough match. I never expected Spain to play so awfully, and completely agree Casillas has not played well at all lately. 2nd goal was pretty much his own fault for not corralling a pretty easy shot off the set piece. With the way they've been playing 1-0 might end up being enough anyway.
  • Can't say I'm shocked by the result as Chile is a solid team, but the way in which Spain are losing is very shocking. Only a PK to show for 2 games and giving up 7?

They've had a phenomenal 6 year run. Just a shame to see them crash out this way. I think the next Spain squad will hardly be recognizable.
  • The old guards need to go, probably right to drop Pique and Xavi. But wth is Alonso, Ramos and Casillas still in the team? almost like del bosque is favoring Real Madrid
  • Was anyone else embarrassed for Cameroon? I have no idea what Alex Song was thinking or even trying to do. Then the headbutting of your own teammate at the end?? Eto'o is a fantastic player and it was a shame that he had to sit and watch all that.

Looks like I missed the best part.

  • Holy tinykitty!!! After seeing that, I immediately regret not watching that game... Looks like it would have been an interesting match. Did they ever figure out why they started going after each other? Other than getting shut out 4-0.

Song should have been given a red card for that. Doesn't matter that it was his teammate, I've thrown teammates out for fighting before.

England choked another game away, as a city fan I hate Joe Hart, he's an average keeper with the propensity of stupid plays. Worse than him is Luis Suarez, I have absolutely nothing nice to day about him. He is a horrible human being.

Second goal - Hart looked like he was trying not to be hit by the ball. Seriously - go watch it.

It was pathetic, he is pathetic. If he doesn't, he should have a YouTube video compilation of all the times he's screwed up.
  • Oh how the great have fallen...

Spain, then England. I haven't seen Italy's first game, but this one - it's not that they play bad, it's their defence - Italy was famous for their defence. And now it looks like it's no more.

Italy could not have played a worse game. Just downright stupid how they came out today. You know that the Tico's are going to sit 5 on defense...so what does Italy do? They run Balotelli up top alone. Brilliant! I am more than happy though, I hate how the Italians play the game.

I am looking forward to this next game...the Swiss defense is incredible and the French have some very good attacking threats. Should make for an excellent game.

    And go CONCACAF teams!!
