Was wondering about the HP values for selling him at the moment. My rag is 5/5/0 at level 90 - and i'm being offered 625HP to sell him at the moment. Someone in my alliance with him at level 102 says he is being offered 725 HP but he only has him at 3/5/0.
So is it completely based on what level you have him up to, and not how many covers he has? If so I am seriously considering spending more ISO to level him, so I can sell him for more HP0 -

This is correct, HP you gain from selling him is based on his level when you sell him, not the number of covers he has.
So, is the general consensus that he is **** now? Grinding him down for HP would be a small comfort then0 -
Here's the way I see it. So far, our only other 3* Dark Avenger is Daken, to which Ragnarok might do well accompanying.
Godlike Power
Lower initial damage than most, but both Ragnarok and Daken are self healing now, not to mention, matching all of those greens will create quite a few strikes from Pheromone Rage to amplify the full team damage. Lightning Rod makes reaching 14 green AP much quicker. Also destroys a VERTICAL column, which opens a much better possibility for AP restoring cascades
Thunderclap
Tiny damage, but cheap. Boosted by Pheromone Rage strikes and can help a Daken screwed by constant Heat by throwing in those precious blue tiles. Even in boards with excess blues, it can help the blue generation with luckier placement, or just be spammed more than once for 6 AP each.
Lightning Rod
More than anything, a self heal above all else. A high health tank that self heals? Sounds pretty dangerous to me. Especially if he's the last one alive. Not to mention, it's key for getting Godlike Power to go off a lot sooner. While there's still the risk of not catching all of the charged tiles, Daken and Ragnarok are, once again, both self healing. They'll be used to taking a whole lot of hits in order to dish out the pain. While it does share AP use with Chemical Reaction, both can be used in different situations. If there are too few blues to safely use Chemical Reaction or too few strikes to be potent, or Ragnarok is taking way too many hits as it is and needs a charge, Lightning Rod can step in and be a powerful savior with a boosted match. It looks to heal a lot, from what I see. At level 53, which my current Ragnarok is, a rank 2 heal alone restores 449/3394 Health, sure to go up with more levels and more Ranks.
It's likely that anyone who wants Ragnarok will stick with 3/5/5 because of that dangerous self damage, but over all, he remains pretty tough on Defense as he used to be.
I will say Modern Thor probably still has the advantage, but as far as having more utility as a self healing tank when paired with Daken, and team damage going up with Ranks, 5/3/5 could make strike boosted team damage a much more regular occurrence.
Heck, add Falcon and you're in for the fight of your life against those Inspiration Strikes boosting Godlike Power and cheap Thunderclaps, with two self healing demons that can hide behind walls of protect tiles, and Redwing cooldowns that have a chance of being slammed by Godlike Power OR the resulting cascade.
I don't think we should discount him just yet, lest the next Simulator gives us a destructive team to show us how wrong we are. for me at least, I now have a better reason for wanting a 4/4/5 Daken. Since Lightning Rod is now a viable blue alternative, I'm going to want to crowd those red tiles with all stronger strikes instead of several weaker ones.

I thought they were done with this burst of health garbage. I think all of these abilities should just go away. I thought the devs understood that, but I guess their good character releases as of late was just lucky on their part and giving me a false sense of hope. Now I have very little hope for the Beast buff (and it would be hard not to make him better than he is now). Even if this ability turns out to be true healing, Rags still sucks. Self damaging/team damaging abilities also are a major disincentive. Pretty terrible job on this "improvement".0

It may sound crazy, but I think I'm gonna build him 5/5/3 (not just because I've already built him 5/4/0) as I prefer (regardless AP cost wise) that he has some offensive attacks over defensive & take full advantage of the damage output due to covers/levelling (sure, his green damages allies also, but it didn't stop me building Sentry 5/5/3) - ultimately I use that as a guide when I'm stumped with abilities that aren't that great. & the reason why I'm not selling him? Collectors mentality.0

As a guy with a 140 rag he loves i say. Truly. I have had little respect for the talent and vision of d3 for as long as ive played this game and this change squares perfectly with thag notion.

Yeah, weirdest thing about that. I found out about the change before the game announced it from that very Team Up the AI used against me. Funny thing is I had just looked at my poor Rags earlier today wondering when they will fix him and his broken tile strengths probably no more than an hour before hand.0 -

I Dislike his new update. Why charge tiles? lady Thor isn't benefitted if she uses same colors to do better. Glorified She-Hulk with the new update making him worse than one of the least useful. Limiting 2 star magneto even makes that idea a waste and he is far less useful also for newer players. I disagree with his most recent transition as he is far less useful to a three person team than he already was. Maybe at best you could pair with invisible Woman to lock the board and throw away the cares as he is now virtually non pair able without damaging yourself and by then i would just use she hulk.... Another maxed character I feel that lost its potential to be useful.0

I used to use my lvl 140 rags every once in a while for fun. Now I can't see myself ever wanting to use him again. Unbelievable, they actually managed to make him worse.0

Thanks - do you know what the scaling is for level <---> hp ? At lvl 102 with 5/5/0 covers I am now offered 750HP.
IMO hes rubbish now. I'll probably collect his covers again when I get them - but not gonna turn down 700HP for selling a **** character.
Also anyone know how long is the window open to sell him for HP?0 -
As soon as I got him to 89 he became worth 625 from 500. I am guessing that the amount of HP he is worth would go up again if you get him up to 102, just don't have the raw data, sorry.0

My primary use for Rags before he was vaulted is that his red was one of the most useful powers in Lightning Rounds, and he was pretty much my LR MVP.
Next season, he'll be back in LRs, his red is functionally identical, and he'll be back to being my LR MVP.
B- or C-list characters with solid cheap attacks - Rags's Red, Psylocke's Black, Gamora's Red - are great in LRs, and if you like to do a lot of LRs, they're highly useful.0 -

Anybody else feel like his animations are all mixed up? I think his former animation for Godlike Power should be the new Lightning Rod. The new Godlike Power should be like Thor's Mjolnir's Might. And Thunderclap could be....um....0
