Sent a request on the 10th, received 2 responses with different ticket numbers shortly after but have as of yet not received any covers. Based on my point of ascension I would only expect 6 covers but I would like to know if this is happening or no as we are at the 72 hour point and close to the cut off when things can be submitted.

I think they're still working through backlog. As long as you got the ticket in during the window, they should honour it even outside of the "official" window.
I opened my ticket for the bonus/Jackpot support shards on 20 December, and just got the shards yesterday. Between the Jackpot Support shards, the holidays, and the issues with the Support Shards vaults not paying out, plus the X-23 Retro Rewards, I am assuming they have a major backlog they are working through.

I don’t mind when I get them id just like confirmation that they will be coming . The support post suggests a turnaround of about a month for CS tickets
In the meantime I’ll be trying to get a cover from the vault when it opens tomorrow

I had Ice double check the conversion sheet that we were using to calculate retro rewards and can confirm that CS has indeed started up again.

My Hex 23 landed today as well.
I opened my jackpot shards ticket on 20 December and got my shards on 15 January (while others had already gotten their x-23 retros in between). I also just got my X-23 retros today, from a ticket opened 11 January (while others still await jackpot shards).
I don't know if that helps, but the timing is a bit random
