First play, 550 550 vs 672 550.

Good, if AP not an issue. Venom like Monkey with larger health and slightly better utility.

Seems like a pretty basic damage character, with good enough numbers.
Compared to Hit-Monkey, his damage is a little less, but you get a stun and a quasi-aoe -- that's not a bad trade.

Just look at the numbers, Venom is better than Monkey imo.
@550 Monkey = 136,997 health
@550 Venom = 215,502 health@550 Monkey's red can DOWN 550 Chasm with 93,500 healths (rounded)
@550 Venom's red can DOWN 550 Chasm with 100,500 healths (rounded)@550 Monkey's red can DOWN 550 iHulk with 50,800 healths (rounded)
@550 Venom's red can DOWN 550 iHulk with 76,500 healths (rounded)550 Chasm health = 167,783
550 iHulk health = 86,510On equal levels, Kang+Venom can take down Hulkasm easily.

So basically they have done that thing again where they release a character who makes a previous character basically obsolete. This is the problem with characters who largely exist just to counter one specific thing. It wouldn't be so bad if HM was years and years old but they are not. Could'a saved everybody's time, resources and efforts by just fixing the base problem but I guess this is just more amusing or something.

There is always the 1 AP difference.
And that HM can down any villain with just a regular match.1 -

They re-made Face Off with cartoon dinosaurs...I think you got got.
In your defense, Punisher is pretty good at this sort of thing.
I'm amused how some players thought it was seriously a comic lol

I admit I went to look for that comic in marvel unlimited haha.
Very well played.2 -

I don't know that Venomosaurus makes Hit-Monkey obsolete.
First, they're unlikely to be boosted at the same time, which matters a whole lot. Even if Venomosaurus was strictly better at comparable levels, Hit-Monkey would be better when boosted.
Second, Venomosaurus red looks to be a better power by a bit, but it's on his strongest color, so it'll be harder to cast it against Chasm.
And last, Hit-Monkey is different enough on his other two powers that it's not just a 1-to-1 comparison of their reds. His black active power is just ok, but the passive can generate some AP. Purple does a LOT of single-target damage though. His damage boost against villains is worth something too, especially in PvE where everybody is a villain.
I think Venomosaurus has the better overall kit (the stun is worth a lot, and green is almost an AoE), but I don't think it's a landslide.

On equal levels, Kang+Venom can take down Hulkasm easily.Did you factor in Monkeys bonus damage to villains?
I think venom is a serviceable dps. I love his high health. Still a bit worried about damage reduction paired with Kang, but they will work as a pair.
Monkey and Venom are similar but they don’t share colors so one may be worth slotting in over the other just on color coverage.

I believed it might be true up until the moment you name dropped Gina Gershon. Love the actress but could not imagine how she'd fit into that comic story so knew it couldn't be real

I wonder how many players are either going to completely pass on the *5 trios that will be in the LL store for months, or end up pulling for one of these characters. Assuming non collect them all types players of course.
For me most of the 5s these days you get enough covers/shards from rewards to make them half way decent and functional when boosted, that you don't really have to blow a ton of pulls in the LL store. Even when they are boosted if they're not great to begin with chances are many of us will still be using other characters, aside from the pick 2s. I could care less if a sucky *5 is at 4 covers or 13, when their pick 2 nodes come around I'm always using better characters anyways that do all the heavy lifting
Usually I get a itching to pull at some point. But I think I'm going to pass on these latest 3 or 4 5s that will be clogging up LLs for most of the summer. There hasn't been a character I had much of a inclination to pull for lately, last were maybe Kang and Wong. It's sad how many 5s I have covered by default because they were sandwiched in LLs with one decent 5, yet I never once use them.
All that said I'll probably cave at some point and pull a little here and there to get some of them around 8 or 9 covers. Within striking distance to finish covering them down the road if there's ever a big reason to. I really hope the next 5 or couple give us a reason to get excited.

Wong has taught me not to pass.
I thought he was bad, but he turned out great.
So I will cover champ and use everyone now.
It’s really hard to gauge where things are going with how BCS is moving forward with the game now.3 -
Yeah, they are really not making bad 5* these days. Even the mediocre ones are killers when they're high level or boosted. I wouldn't skip anybody.

You can fill in the blank by taking away Colossus or High Evolutionary.
Regardless, fun team to use with many options to win.0 -

We will be here all night if we start to try and say who "deserves" things.*My confession (which I have said here more than once) - I think Omega Red sucks donkey balls. He is a terrible character with no credible personality, ridiculous powers (what the **** is a "death spore?) and his design is embarrassingly of its time to the point where it makes Feral and Shatter star look cool. I wouldn't make him a 1*.
But people seem to love him so if we get him then good for them. It will be a Symbiote version of course but hey, ya can't have everything. 😉
- Hypno Hustler obviously being the 5* only exception
We need a dislike button. I mean to each their own, so mostly in jest, but “makes shatter star look cool” Ouch.
If O Red isn’t a 5* I’d prefer they didn’t add him at all. I would accept a symbiote version at this point though.

He's WAY better than anybody thought at launch. 1/3 of the time he just immediately, passively wins the match for you. His active powers are cheap, do a ton of damage, and include damage reduction.
I took on a few at lvl672 (using very high level boosted characters), and if you leave him alone or try to kill someone else first, he'll just murder you. He can put out an insane amount of damage.
