The ChaHulk meta

It's probably worth saying that comparably leveled chasm/hulk teams are definitely beatable. But once you break MMR up at the top of PVP progression, those strategies don't really work against 550 chasm/~500 hulks like i regularly see. And that's fine I suppose, you should have a very dominant team if you've got them that high. Maybe these fabled MMR updates will make it so I can see teams worth enough points to hit alongside those guys though; it's either a largely unbeatable 70pt team, or a 22pt dual boosted team up there mostly right now.0
-
Are you playing other slices now? Slice 1 is still good. I got matched with non-boosted 550 SheHulk and another 4* worth 7x points while my points are high 10XX. There were also Chasm + non-iHulk team worth 60-7X points as well. If your "now" refers to 3* Arcade pvp, it's still early due to lack of players playing high.
America Chavez + Phoenix with ap and crit boost was very fast against Chasm/iHulk. When I climbed past 1000, I saw quite a number of Chasm/iHulk worth 4X points, instead of high 60 or 7x points.0 -
I'm still in 1, and no, I was referring to the Mind Like a Diamond pvp that just ended. It may have been skewing my MMR that I have a max-champ 4* frost there, it's hard to say. This Arcade pvp isn't going to be a good representation I don't think because Thano5 is going to be able to go to work much more easily with that 3* loaner most everyone will be using, and that will really change the tide of things.0
-
I think my Emma is closed to max champed but I still could find high points (60-7x) 5-6 hours before Emma's pvp ended. It could be a timing issue?0
-
Maybe; I ended up grinding 50 wins hitting those lower pt teams. Professor X is boosted this week, and he is my highest base level character at 472. I’ll see if him and Apocalypse is any good.0
-
It is worth noting that I see fewer boosted duos in this meta. Mostly Chasm and iHulk regardless of the boosted list. Maybe that’s a part of why they get so much hate. At least with Wanda/Colossus the meta would change for players with baby champs on a weekly basis.0

I don't see colwanda anymore.
Totally m.i.a.
Actually I don't have the slightest problem on beating chahulk, but because they are tricky to beat I don't use to challenge them when hopping.0 -

Prof X should be good because at 450 boosted to 56X his passive match-4 power deals ~20k damage and his AoE deals about 27k damage. It should be easy to make Chasm/iHulk reach 27k HP quickly and take them out with his AoE..0

I always trusted on Crystal potential and now it's giving me a lot of joys.0

So far the chasm hulks I’ve gone up against have gone down to passive damage from cascades; it’s actually quite challenging to get enough purple to fire To Me My X-Men. At this level it’s doing 31,948 AOE, so it would be nice if I could lol.0

I have been reading the comments in these thread and I found it really useful! To hear how people play with this new meta, either using the meta teams or finding counter meta teams. After playing in a few pops, I came to the following conclusions
1) The Abyss team (chasm+Ihulk+IShulk) is actually a really slow team. While it has good scarecrow value, the trade off is that it is slow to kill off opposition, as it relies on chasm match damage and Hulks red and green. It makes for a good floating team, but if you want to shield hop with the team, well, you are also exposing yourself longer. So, it’s a real trade off… and it’s not a perfect team.2) The Abyss team is not easy to use against a mirror team. It is rare, but I thought that on the team is actually much better on defence than on offence. It’s really difficult to time it such that the opponent chasm is killed immediately after my chasm is revived. This makes for a very absorbing, but slow match. In fact, in the latter half of this mirror match, the board will be filled with abyss tiles and web tiles that Ihulk passive no longer activates. The main options of play is just match… and it makes it very slow.3) I tried different combinations as suggested in the thread. Most teams I find it still a 50/50… with the exception of this team. Moonknight + Jane Thor + Shang Chi. Jane Thor & SC need no explanation as they can make a lot of matches in a single turn. But I found that Moonknight really make this trio tick in hunting down the Abyss team. He is immune to stun, so you can take ur first turn. When he matches blue, red on the first turn, he remains in front. Chasm will only remove his strongest colour (black and green), which means that JT and SC colours are safe. When SC tanks most of the colours, chasm will not reduce green and black, which allows MK to fire his abilities. If you can fire his black, you can one shot Ihulk who just revived, and you will heal back. SC can also heal with his red, so you have 2 characters that can heal back the damage.Below is my final turn against the abyss. I was able to finish them off within one turn, and MK heals him back, so I hardly suffered any damage12 -

From that photo I can see that you killed Ihulk 3 tumes for chasm not tanking anymore.
On the right circunstances Crystal can burn off the 3.
But as I already said chahulk are tricky and it's not guaranteed to happen.
Still Crystal can minimize the attrition.0 -
In the current boost week, use Dr Thor + Iceman. Add +3 blue if you want to speed up the process. Chasm was stunned for up to 10 turns and I've all the time to clear 3 of his tiles to disable his revive. I see quite a number of players using this duo as well. Great choice!

On a bad board, I don’t have enough chances to create match 4/5.0 -
There are pick-3 teams that are pretty easy to set up against chasm teams, but i'm still looking around for a very reliable pick-2.0

I've already defeated 3 times the complete zombie team on SIM.
SW and Crystal just simply can't lose.0 -
