I do wish more game companies would allow more colorblind settings. My favorite is when they allow you to pick the colors yourself, so you can individually find the most contrasting colors and not rely on someone's elses choices through filters. Even though there's a few types of Colorblindness, peoples can have varying degrees of severity in their type.
If at all possible, there should be at least one color-blind person on every UI design team to help out with problems like that.2 -

We do agricultural software and deal with mapping a LOT. Like... maps on maps on maps. Our bi-weekly sprint release is usually preceded with a team demonstration of all the changes/updates. I'd say every 3-4 releases I have to chime in and say "um... is there a difference between the map on the left and the map on the right?" Then the department head sighs and goes "change the colors, as we deal almost exclusively with farmers, which are overwhelmingly in the male demographic so this will eventually be a problem for them as well."/not on the QA team//also not on the front-end team, as my eyes do not work and I make really poor UIs

***Mod note: Just a friendly reminder to please keep the discussion civil and on topic.
And on a more personal note, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of the new forum members. The issues and concerns you have brought up are important. I hope they will be addressed soon.10 -

I don't remember the game, but there was one where the patch broke the uninstaller. If you tried to uninstall, it removed the entire C:\ drive instead of just the installation drive.1 -
Well for the people out there that seem to imply that only a small vocal minority is disliking the UI change, in Alliance chat only dislikes to strong dislikes from our members. Nobody has said anything about liking the update thus far, but only a third has said anything about it to be fair. Team event is picking up a bit slower than usual. I'm not expecting much applause on this update. I'm just hoping this won't be a game-killer and that they're already working on a fix to either revert or make it optional.

Certainly beats my "Dog-eyed" phrase I used earlierSecond: color picker would be AMAZING, but the 3d-effects on the tiles might make that harder than it seemsThird: MPQ seems pretty anti-personalized settings. Looking at the settings page, we have 2 sliders for sound and music, a choice for which service to use as a back-up, notifications preference (a single setting masquerading as 6 checkboxes) and 3 game-play options (effects, enemy AP, and physics). I'm not even certain how many of those are tied to the account and how many are local to just the device. I think we might get more traction if we suggested it to be a "device specific" option (ostensibly to counteract a low-quality phone screen) rather than account based0 -
Day 2,619 and to echo what lots of long time players have already said. The new colors are really bad. I would love a way to revert to the old color scheme.
As a manager in a large organization I work for, I understand that if you can't track things, you can pretend they don't exist. This is why I encouraged my alliance members to also fill out a support ticket for their headaches, eye issues and color problems.
Support tickets are tracked much more rigorously than forum posts.
I think it's pretty clear this new UI was a mistake. More people (like me) are willing to crawl out of the woodwork to voice their displeasure. What comes next is what shows the health of the work-culture at D3
Some folks have called for disciplinary measures or legal action or even firing someone. I think this is a wrong approach. If you scare people into never taking risks for fear of repercussions, they'll never make worthwhile progress.
Instead, mistakes should be celebrated. D3 should use this huge mistake to show their transparency, humility and as a massive learning opportunity. Hopefully it will be a wonderful pivot point for change in how updates are made, and how they engage with their community. Seriously look at this great community engagement that they are getting. How many posters have less than 10 posts in this thread?
Recognize the mistake, Acknowledge the mistake, fix the mistake, be better tomorrow because of it. Nobody expects perfection.16 -

After a few days of playing on the new UI, I thought it may be helpful to provide additional feedback. First, I had to turn my screen brightness up to 100%.Overall, I feel like I may have been strong with the words “hate” and “terrible.”
I do feel that the criticisms remain. However, since the UI is being reviewed, perhaps some actual suggestions would be better than just saying what I (and everyone else apparently) don’t like.I think it would be nice to speed up the matching a little bit. One of the key aspects of most games/gameplay is risk vs reward. Allowing people to make faster matches because they can, sometimes yields mistakes, and I feel adding that aspect into the game would be welcomed.
Dimming on opponents turn could easily be replaced with an arrow at the top pointing towards the team next to move, or dim something else. Just please not the board. This seems to be the main complaint for everyone aside from whatever is causing the nausea, and this may be the actual cause.Someone mentioned a wave # indicator for pve. I think that would be a nice thing to have.
Visibility of characters is something that’s often an issue. Larger characters in the foreground block view of the ones in the back. This minimizes our view of timers like airborne, invisibility, stunned, etc.
I really did like the way the art was featured on the older tiles. The new method looks like brushed metal, and while it’s not unattractive, I did prefer the older art. And as pointed out, some are harder to see like Polaris. And some like BRB look basic and obfuscate strike tiles. Perhaps the shape of strike tiles should be looked at and made more visible. Perhaps put them diagonally across the tile?Additionally, the friendly protects with the grey fade really don’t stand out. Some of the icons, like Kitty’s hand appear large on the tiles. Some art just looks basic while others add a lot more nuance. I guess I prefer the nuance. I.e. Chavez star > Apoc A. Attack tiles art really doesn’t stand out either and just muddle everything up.
I do like the spirit of the Fortified tiles however the counter number in there is hard to see. Counter numbers are pretty hard to see without this as well.
I think the numbers for health of the characters could be a touch bigger as well. The damage numbers flash up there and they’re large but just last for a second. But the actual numbers you are looking at the entire time are tiny.
Background. Perhaps continuing the blue/black lines throughout the entire background would help increase the contrast? At least this would help with the black tiles.
Hint wiggle. Whatever was changed here, I don’t care for. Normally I don’t even bother with this unless I just don’t see the single option available but I find the change more distracting than helpful.
One thing I left out of my previous criticism was charged tiles. The new charged tiles are extremely hard to see compared with the older system.Again, please consider this constructive criticism and please act swiftly. Tons of people are complaining about headaches. People are quitting your game because of this update.8 -
I just registered to give my feedback to this "update":
I don't like it. I can't orientate on the board as quickly as before, the color contrasts have gotten far worse for me, darkening the display on the enemy turn makes the game very unsteady, to distinguish between normal and special enemy tile is far more time consuming and thus frustrating.
Overall I'd like to go back, until then I'm gonna stick to a bare minimum of playing time.
If this won't be fixed, I'm gonna stop playing, although I'd have wasted some money on this game.
I'm only on day 1270 but have been playing about two hours per day.4 -

I have played them. I like this game. And I would like to continue to play this game. I'm not currently playing it, and I'm missing my resupply (2120 is my next) and everything, because the changes are physically painful to me.
This is why many of us would like for those players to go away. They make it virtually impossible to assess whether a change is good or bad -- after literally any change, the feedback is a torrent of overwhelming negativity, from roughly the same group of players, who threaten to quit but ultimately never do.
These are the ones who need to go, not the folks who legitimately enjoy the game, occasionally offer positive feedback, and don't immediately hate any change.I legitimately enjoy the game. It's one of two that I play with any regularity.I also can't play right now because the new interface makes it physically painful for me to do so. And reading though the comments here, it's cause other people to have migraines and seizures. There is a distinct difference between "I don't like the color scheme" and "this is hazardous to my health." We're not complaining about a change in paint, we're objecting that the ramp has been replaced by steep stairs. From your comment, I'm unclear if you think that those of us who are explaining the disability issues with the update (things that would not pass a 508 compliance check if this were a government product) are "the ones who need to go".9 -
I quite apareciate the new tiles design, they're more readable.Buy enemy special tiles don't stand out enough.More it's disturbing the darkening during enemy turn.Always seems my phone is going standby...And the powers' bar seems quite dull.Old one was better to me.0

I have taken the advice seen on one of the posts (sorry, can't remember which one it was as I've read through the lot over the last few days) and raised a support ticket regarding nausea/headaches. I would recommend that everyone who is suffering from the same issues does the same - it is easy to ignore a forum post, a lot harder when it has been logged formally.
And yes, I appreciate that we have seen a one liner stating it is being looked into but ultimately what we have at the moment is a potential epilepsy triggering game which contains no warnings whatsoever. This must be a breach of some kind of law in place and needs to be taken a lot more seriously. For those people commenting about people being over the top describing their symptoms I can only assume you are simply here to troll, shame on you really.

I only hope when this issue will be fixed, you stay here providing feedback to try to make a better game like many of us we usually do, including roadwarrior.
I do think too this thread is toxic but like always when there is any change and it appears people seeming to enjoy the situation.
I have been playing my same amount of hours without any problem. I dont have any type of colorblind but I am confident the issue will be fixed. It is needed time for that.
Lets be patient, rational and mature.
It is nice to see Bad take a break from his ban ihulk from mpq crusade.2 -

That's why I suggested staying away from the game until an update is made. Legitimate feedback about the stairs is being mixed in with feedback about the paint scheme, and some players who could go up the stairs are claiming they can't (then going up them anyway) because they're upset about the paint.
The only way to untangle this is for the devs to look at player engagement and see what the drop looks like. If you're "toughing through" this update despite suffering migraines or seizures, you're still engaging with the game and throwing off those metrics.2 -

Here are the ones that I can remember.
$2 for 7CP....*don't go down this rabbit hole...don't go down this rabbit hole... don't go down this rabbit hole*
25% LT drop rate, 2 different times.
4* Starlord less than 24 hours Winfinate
4* Cage screen shake, which was fixed within 48-72hrs. https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/52120/board-shaking-please-stop/p1

I came here to provide feedback on the new UI changes. I've played a couple hundred matches with the new look so far. My thoughts largely match most everyone else.
Pros:
Wave counter showing which wave you're on is useful. (Would have been useful, turns out I'm just referencing someone else's screenshot)
Tile wiggle seems to be more noticeable when you're struggling to find a match.
Easy to identify which character is associated to a tile, tile symbols are uniform and seem more consistent.
Cons:
Screen darkening during enemy turn distracts from what's happening in the background, which adds time in order to respond on your turn. Its also distracting, sometimes I catch myself thinking it's still my turn and a cascade is happening.
Color scheme is drab. This was very noticable when I used Yelena Belova as my strongest character. All tiles used her art and those symbols are minimal. The whole board seems matte where it seemed to shimmer before.
Visibility overall is reduced across the board. I find I miss 4 and 5 matches more often. I have trouble identifying what special tiles the enemy has on the board. The black tiles with strike, protect, attack are the worst offenders. Charged tiles are less pronounced.
All in all if I could go feature by feature I would revert nearly every single change, as they're hampering the game way more than they add for me.
If this was all an April Fool's joke you were a couple of weeks too early for that. But you got me!
