Special circumstances I figured out quickly I needed to shield up this PVP otherwise it would have been murder.0

My top 10 were shielded about 18 hours ago. If the future of the game is really this, it's not gonna last long. I'm not gonna spend dozen something euros per week just to be able to progress in a game. That's a higly untenable system
This pvp is a bit different bc of the daken cover at 1100 and then Lazy thor rewards. Its making this pvp super active. Most people view shield hopping to 1100 worthwhile bc its still cheaper than buying the daken cover. That has not been the case for most of the last pvps (I.e. loki, rags, doom). So don't feel you have to go shield crazy all the time. Not sure what your roster is like but I chalk this pvp up as more an aberration.
Season 1 ending is not helping either. I think we have to wait after this week to see how the low-competition events with mediocre rewards hold up without the end of the season. Last events were all pretty crazy for me even with meh rewards.0 -
I've already vowed to sit out competing for S2 rewards unless they are insane. No point in grinding myself into hating this game for Rag/Loki covers I already have.0
-
Yeah, I'll be calming down a little for season 2 I think. It helps that now my villains are pretty much effectively covered besides LazyDaken.
For tourneys where I don't need the cover rewards, I reckon I'll just be farming iso the last few hours and seeing where I end up. No shields, turning a HP profit again.0 -

I think at least half the forums are in agreement with you. I know I will. It was fun but if we don't take breaks here and there (since seasons will continue to roll), it will drain us all.0 -

Post match report showed 30 points won in each (which was the number shown in the queue), yet only 10 each were added to my total. I am guessing points were added to my total based on the players' current points instead if the points shown in my queue.
Anybody else getting this? Server troubles again?
This is tinykitty. This tourney is competitive enough without getting awarded erroneous points during a precious unshielded push.
don't the points flux on what all they've done since you put them in your que? if they've went down or up themselves that dynamically changes the point total even though the UI doesn't show it. so really its best to not move your que around until your ready to break your shield and fight.0 -

the way the devs are pushing the game with $$$ in their eyes, there probably wont even be a season 3 because we will all have gotten fed up and quit. i woudn't be surprised if there isn't 10 new 3stars by the end of a season 3 and health packs removed from the game because thats stifles fair play.0 -

I only hit a couple that had better points, then it was mostly 2x 141 teams again closer to 900. Still seeing a 2* here and there I believe.
Some alliance folk noticed the same thing, suddenly the hit a wall of 85s, the rejoiced and got points. I grumbled and got hit. I was one of the Americans asleep while you guys said all this, so now to see the damage. I had already dropped quite a bit before I went to bed so I doubt people are hitting my 141s for such a low reward. Congrats to all that got their 1100s
To chime in on he grind aspect, wouldn't it be nice if every OTHER pvp was season? That'd be so simple and help so much
Edit: netted +1...small victories!0 -

Really? I thought an opponent's points were fixed once they appeared in your queue. That's ridiculous what's the point of showing a point amount at all in the queue, them? Also, if true, why can't the points at stake shown in the queue update dynamically?
EDIT: Wow, you're right, just tested in reckless (sorry! thought you would be shielded) and got more points than my queue showed. I never knew that. I had noticed slight changes of a few points here and there, but thought that was a display error. I guess the delta was so much greater today because this tourney is such a bloodbath.
Also, that's asinine. Why can't they display accurate totals in the queue?0 -
I'm just letting juicy retals accumulate (seriously people? Hitting a score of 900, then 800, 700 all the way to 500? Well thanks for all the retals then).
And yes there is point discrepancy, one way is to check if your attacker is from a top 10 alliance, see their actual points and then decide if it's worth retaliating.0 -
Shieldhopped from 1010 to 970, then from 970 to 910. Every node is either 20 points or some kind of 141 LThor/BP/Patch/Hulk combination that I just can't afford to take that long to beat
Devs take note: I WOULD actually be spending some dollars on covers to boost my team a bit and get that 1100, except that because of your **** system that won't show me any matches worth any points and keeps skipping me to the same players, while allowing me to get hit by 500 point teams, there's no point in even improving my characters until I have the HP and ISO stored up to completely max LThor and Black Panther or something0 -
Am I reading that right, gamar? You shieldhopped from higher to lower points?0

Yep, that's how I tested on reckless. Like I said, it has never been a 20-pt swing until this tournament, which is why it was so striking.0 -
locked wrote:Am I reading that right, gamar? You shieldhopped from higher to lower points?
You bet! I get the choice of either fighting 20-point teams or teams with huge amounts of hit points, either way both of my attempts to shield hop has resulted in me gaining 60-80 points and losing 150 because I just can't keep up with the point loss from sub-500 teams hitting me0 -

Gamar! Looks like me and you hit each other a few times as well. Sorry about all that. I feel the same frustrations as you do. I cannot keep up to save my life when trying to jump. I've done it three times now and I now have 45 less points than when I started. This is ridiculous lol0 -

This late in a tourney and with that many sharks around you probably need to limit yourself to two fights before re-shielding if you can't kill those 141s quickly enough0 -

That would work except I don't get hit while sheided. As soon as you unsheild you magically get hit 2-3 times as soon as you enter a match. Its astonishing0 -
Ugh. That was the worst climb to 1100 ever. 3 times I won a match that showed me at over 1100, each time I clicked over to the main node I had under 1050 due to 2+ attacks. dropped from 1000+ to 850s TWICE after a magical flurry of attacks right after unshielding. Finally had to use boosts to move from 1078 to 1100.
And of course as soon as I shield, I'm hit for 100+.
I'm done for the rest of the event. I have no idea if it's gonna be enough for a red cover.0 -
Just gonna keep hitting Slobofix until I'm at 1100, currently at 988 and have hit him twice, have him queued up for a third along with some other people. Hopefully can hop to 1100 in two pushes, looks that way right now (45 points first match, probably 35-40 second, shield, repeat in a few hours).0
-
Out of Curiosity: What is Slobofix running? And what do You run against it (incl. boosts)? And most importantly - how long does the fight last?
--
From what I read, I'm glad I got to 1100 earlier. If You find me, feel free to hit me, I'm shielded till the end, with safe 44pts from #2.0
