Fight for Wakanda... again... already?

@Brigby
To address further:
Day 1 has been covered well by other posters.
Day 2 has "neutral" tiles that start out helping you by giving you protect tiles. That is the only benefit they provide you. Then the countdowns expire and convert all of your protect tiles to enemy protect tiles (whether you made them or the tile made them). When Ultron is involved, now he is replicating protect tiles that the CDs made for him. When a Sentry Flyer is involved, all the protect tiles begin to be converted to health bursts for the enemy. It just quickly feels like you are being overwhelmed with little in the way of control. The matches can be very long and drawn out due to all the protect tiles around while not offering any increased rewards (vs, say, wave nodes which take longer but offer a vault token, which is a very fair trade for me).
Day 3 is more neutral due to the fact that the expiring CD destroys both your and the AI's AP in a random color, and it seems overall fair since you don't know what will happen. It could have little impact on you while hurting the AI, or vice versa, or hurt you both, or...I suppose it's self explanatory once you think about it.
Day 4 also seems pretty fair since the CDs make powers more expensive for both sides and then randomly stuns someone on either side once it expires.
I think most players feel that days 1 and 2 are the worst to play, as the tiles mostly benefit the AI, while days 3 and 4 feel like they are better at realizing the idea of "neutral tiles".
If the developers intend the tiles to be neutral in effect, then they should consider further addressing the effects in days 1 and 2 in some way. If it is meant to be make an event that is more "puzzley" then it is accomplishing that goal, but doing that within the normal speed based PVE reward structure creates frustration among players.

Brigby said:Hi Everyone. So just to clarify, the major concerns players have with the Fight for Wakanda event are the Exploding Tiles and the Dark Avenger/Ultron Minions combination of enemies? Is that correct?
The combinations of Dark Avengers (who many are tired of seeing) with Ultron minions that generate tiles that synergize with Daken (for instance) are annoying, and all of the non-Ultron minions are single-color, slow-but-heavy-damage ability users, so they are not easily countered by the usual methods (Dr Strange) and can single-handedly make a match unusually costly.
The pacing of this event is just really unrelenting. Other than the 3 easy nodes that are essentially trivial, every node has one or more tile movers (usually 2 or 3), often DAs scaled up to the point where their numbers seem to break, and then aligned with Ultron minions that feed them AP even if you stun the normal tile movers and whose passive effects are just more attrition on the player. It's just a long, grinding slog for most of the subs.

If you wait until the event is over I am sure there will be complaints about all the environment tiles.3 -
Also adding the shield tiles are the least neutral thing in this mode. They give you pethetic protect tiles each turn, but when they resolve it steals ALL protect tiles and gives them to the enemy with no way to get them back.So in this version, Nico spends a few turn buffing those tiles since I have more protect tiles than the enemy....and then that countdown I couldn't match flips them all and suddenly the enemy has half a dozen strength 300+ protect tiles. Fun.3

I'm going to enjoy a nice 4 day vacation from pve, every time this event is up. It's simply no fun. I played the single match against kingpin and called it a day4

Medusa. Sub 2 is her playground. Even when she's not boosted. Enemy protect tiles? AP packs. Friendlies? Health packs. 10 purple = board shake, steal & buff some of those protect tiles. Bring a blue+green user and go to town.1 -
Thanks everyone for providing your feedback! I've gone ahead and compiled all that info, and sent it over to the team for review.5

There are no words for how much I hate this event.2 -
Ha, don't worry, Nico was twice the required character on that event already!
Someone on LINE had it right, this is Kraven's time to shine!0 -
I know how to make the tiles truly neutral; have them countdown on both players turn and enemies turn. Tiles drop with different countdowns already so just make some odd aome even and it has the possibility for the unneutral cascade to benefit either team.0

Thanks to Nico buffing the shields to ungodly levels, I had to use a Whales Team Up to get through the Loaner Node. If you're going to have a required 4-star, how about Venom?

@Brigby what a nice change would be is making the yellow loaner node a 1 time only clear. From a competitive side, you have to clear this a total of 4 times. 1 to start and 3 at end. Since this node is a 6/6 and the XP were removed from pve nodes, I do not know how many people clear this 6/6. I know all that I play with do not. They don’t care about the 200 missing Iso. In fact I should do a poll on this. I do think a lot of these loaner yellow nodes should be a 1/1 and locked. No point to do it more.3

2nd Ultron Minions/Dark avengers
3rd Poor choice of boosted characters
If they could fix these points; it will be much better.
Thank you for considering0 -

True. So get through the loaner once and move on with your day. If you're the T10 / T5 ultra-competitive type and just have to grind out that loaner node, well. I'm sorry. Dunno what else to tell you.0
-
These royal shield hazards are by far the worst. Especially with nico boosting I am getting so frustrated with the slog.0
-
Making the matches longer doesn't make it more challenging (I'm looking at you Royal Shields). Got pushed out of T10 because I had to abandon so many games because the defense tiles were so bad that even Ares's Onslaught was doing only 1 damage.
Just remove the hazard tiles already. It's bad enough we have to waste seconds watching Ultron bots swarming and cascading the board and wasting a additional seconds with the attack tiles animation at every end of enemy's turns.0 -
I don't mind the hazard tiles as a concept or what these tiles do... some of them are annoying, but, that's ok - sometimes games have annoying enemies, mechanics, etc. and that's partially by design. But, there are some other issues I have with this event:
a) What DOES unequivocally suck about hazard tiles is that these "neutral" tiles ALWAYS resolve on the enemy turn, and if a cascade is generated, the enemy gets AP. It would seem more fair if either 1) no one gets AP from cascades that come from hazard tiles resolving or 2) some hazard tiles resolve on your turn and some on the enemy turn, so, that you each might receive occasional cascades.
b) Let's drop the Dark Avengers from ALL future new PVE events, other than perhaps a small cameo appearance, such as they have in Webbed Wonder. The Dark Avengers and Ultronbots are the most despised enemies in the game (and not in a fun "love to hate" way) and combining both of them in a new PVE event was disappointing and annoying. I used to dislike Simulator, but, it has become one of my favorite PVE events these days, simply because of the variety. I enjoyed Prodigal Sun on its last run for the same reason. There must be a way to introduce more enemy variety into PVE events, especially new PVE events.

Chiming in with "gads the enviormental tiles combined with Ultron minions are absolutely awful to play against". I used my 3 boosted heroes and am still getting destroyed. 2 with 15000 health and Robbie with 30000 health, and because of tiles + ultron I'm basically losing to the board exploding and cascading. Last night I just gave up before even finishing one clear.
(Someone mentioned using Medusa; but not everyone has specific 4 star heroes, especially newer players).
