With Gilded Lotus being a direct purchase with Karn, would this be considered false advertising unless there is a clause saying cards are susceptible to future change. Not really a big deal , but it seems a little off ,especially with no announcement or compensation. You'd think when they say you buy Karn with these five cards for a certain amount of money then later tweak your product.... Oh well...

In the past other cards and PW such as Baral and Kiora have been nerfed. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen and is within their rights under the ToS we agreed to when we added the game.

I wholeheartedly support this nerf. The card was OP for a rare and would be a disaster in everyone’s hands as-is.

@Brigby I see no reason to nerf hammer this little guy. Why is it on the nerf conveyor belt?

I second this. If it is going to be just one additional mana gain, then I should hope that the shield has doubled. still not worth the time to cast in my opinion even with doubled shields.

Well, I guess this settles it then?

Don't recall any disasters any time the AI palyed it or I used it. There's adjusting the cards and then there's going overboard with the nerf hammer. The cost should not be increased. I think it should now cost 6 even.

If they go through with this, it is going to the trash pile.

Well, if bken says it’s true than it must be true.

But heres a link to refunding false purchases on the App Store, just in case you think you bought something that you didn’t actually buy. *

*I know, I’ve always been a proponent of “you’re not buying, you’re renting!” But that was before it happened to me. And also they had more time to enjoy the broken toys that they bought. I will be disputing this charge Angie “giving back” Karn. I don’t actually want him anymore... and this set isn’t even legal yet.

I really don’t buy that it was overpowered.  2 extra mana is not game breaking and it never lasts very long before it gets matched away.  I won’t use the nerfed version at all.

Me also. I’ve already submitted a refund request via iTunes. This is not the thing that I bought and I’ll gladky give everything else up (karn too!) if I can get my precious mana runes back. What a waste!

They're nerfing this card? lol, it doesn't even warrant a deck slot, how is it nerf worthy? Some of the decisions in this game are baffling. You have truly broken things like Omniscience which is so broken it's like a Masterpiece x10 while you have an okayish support card that requires 1-2 turns to bring into play before it starts doing anything and even then it's incremental advantage.

Meanwhile, the AI cascades 500 mana per turn and apparently that's fine.

I think dropping it to 1 of each is fine.  I don't like increasing the cost as well, especially if it stays at 2 shields.

1 or the other please, not both

I totally disagree with this.  There should be excellent cards and lame cards at every rarity.  If they ever make this game so that all the rares have to be worse than Gilded Lotus, I’m done.

I don’t care about the fact that I paid for it.  Karn was worth it.  But this is a stupid nerf.

I do agree with this nerf the shied value should be increased. At least to 3, but 4 would be nice.

Curious,  why would they issue a refund for something that hasn't happened yet?

Plus you'd have a very hard time convincing them of it while this clause exists, "Important note: Anything listed below is subject to change before release. We will try to update any changes in a timely manner, but please keep in mind the info below is not guaranteed."

because as of right now, you own and play with the card you bought.

anyways, the card was very fragile. Yes, it gave a good lead early in, but certainly not OP

As is this card only makes it into my decks about 50% of the time(which is really strong but not broke). If they go through with this nerf it will make it into my decks 0% of the time. If they really must bring down the mana bonuses to balance mechanics in the new set the cost needs to be reduced 4 or 5 and the shields increased to at least 3 or better 4.

They could make it 50 shields and it wouldn't be playable as pictured.

I’m actually very upset about this. As can be seen in my original post (closed by the mods) and my Reddit post. https://www.reddit.com/r/MTGPuzzleQuest/comments/8k9j7k/bait_and_switch/?st=JHBHZ7Y9&sh=bf49151c

Guilded Lotus has been taken out back and shot in the head.  It's DoA now.

If you compare it to Drownyard Temple which also costs 9 and straight up gives you 3 mana every turn, you would now have to make 3 matches in a single turn to have the equivalent mana gains with this new Guilded Lotus.  Drownyard Temple even has a landfall ability to put it back in play on top of this.  I've yet to see anyone complain that it is too powerful.

As-is, you need two matches to be better than either Drownyard Temple or Shrine of the Forsaken Gods.  It's only when you get a bunch of cascades that it is powerful.

Please keep matters civil here. No discussions about refunds belong in this thread. I merely wanted to call attention to the card when it first came out. Now I was pointing out it was potentially getting a nerf - a violent one - and so brought that up so the devs could be aware of it and potentially have a change of heart in terms of how they go about it.

I’ve requested a refund via iTunes. They can take Karn and the cards and the 5K mana runes but I would like the surplus mana runes that I spent leveling him credited to my account.

I don’t think that this is an unfair request.
