No worries, it usually follows HoD if I remember correctly.

:D 4th Anniversary event is the release of two new characters followed by the VERY abrupt and imminent shutdown of the servers. *Toilet flushing sound*

Just kidding. Obviously we would get at least 10 HP, 250 ISO, and 3 Standard Tokens as a forewarning.

Can you confirm for Hearts of Darkness which sub will be the 48 hour one?

why for the new 5* nodes do the Devs keep putting in latest 5*.  By having the 5* node be one of the latest 3 5* it means much fewer players have them, nd even fewer of them leveled enough to help in CL9.  Wouldn’t it make more sense to have these 5* nodes be classic 5* only?  This would would encourage more players to play CL9 especially with the difficulty of the CL9 5* node.

The first sub-chapter will have the 48 hour duration.

Good question! I'll pass this inquiry along to the development team, and I'll update this comment once I hear back from them. Thanks!

Well, now I see why even PVP was mystery rewards. I guess Anniversary starts on Sunday with Rogue's PVP then? Feels weird after getting used to the usual pattern of it being 1 week after the release PVE. I'm guessing that next week will be a boss event for... someone else. CAN WE FIGHT APOCALYPSE PLEASE, SUCH A BIG MISS IT NOT HAPPENING FOR AGE OF APOCALYPSE *cought, cough, ahem* It would be nice to have an X-Men boss.

Shoot. Article only mentioned heroes (and not my waifu!), and not villains. Sabertooth or 4* Juggernaut. (We'll probably end up with Toad ANDWHERE'SKITTYPRYDE *cough, wheeze*) Time to wait and see what the future holds.

Would be nice to understand how Anniversary is actually supposed to work this year. With the next PVP event being GSBW to finish out the season, this means Rogue's PVP would fall during an offseason period. Or.....is this anniversary and all associated events going to be considered a season of it's own? The main reason I ask is because based on how new releases typically play out, it's very unclear if we can expect Rogue to be entering tokens after the anniversary period, or if we'll need to wait out another full season.

@Brigby I just checked, we just had Hearts of Darkness less than 3 weeks ago.  Why are we cycling through the same few pve events?  Bring back heroics(don't care of limited roster or not), why did you stop running them?  I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't mind heroics with CL based scaling.

Not only that,  it was the release event for Lockjaw

As far as I remember, yes. The Anniversaries are seasons of their own. Most of the PVP is off-season style. There's usually a Class of [insert year here], in which all the characters released in the past year are boosted. Prepare for lots of Thanos/Strange/Cage during that, along with boosted Medusa/Gamora/Grocket. Of course, also prepare to use lots of health packs. There should also be a Devil Dinosaur PVP, since she's an anniversary character. And with the X-Men celebration, Children of the Atom should run (boosted mutants, including Deadpool). Solid chance of 4-star PVP for some of the other X-Men characters, but other than the specific PVP I mentioned, most of those events are really up in the air. There should be an Anniversary vault using tokens from at least the PVP (though there's a chance PVE events will also be linked to that vault). And with a 5* on the way, expect a Boss event either next week or the week after. Hoping for a legitimate X-Men boss like Apocalypse or a Boss version of Magneto. Otherwise... oh, horrible though. They might reuse boss Old Man Logan or Boss Phoenix from the Boss Rush event from some time ago. I wonder if they'll throw in Enemy of the State "un-featuring" Wolverine. We should get a couple details late today or tomorrow at any rate.

The anniversary events are not a season - it's a short series of events over about 1 1/2 weeks, if the past is a guide.  So basically, a super-long off season, with the first 1/2 being super cool (Anniversary tokens and vault, double iso) and the second half being much less exciting....maybe another run of Nefarious Foes and Black Mirror or something.

Also, historically, a character introduced prior to an official season is thereafter in tokens at the start of that season.  I think we should expect Rogue in the tokens on Oct 19.  Assuming the anniversary includes launching the Unknown 5*, they will drop into Latest in mid to late October.

I think there was a Simulator last Anniversary, so like Infinity, it was like an off-season season. Granted, that was a year ago, giving me plenty of time to misremember if that was the case.

Last year, the Story event Simulator was run as the first PvE Anniversary event.

For th x-men anniversary event, you have to have gambit, nightcrawler and Rouge at level 250 or higher to complete the event. Just a heads up everyone /sarcasm
