  • We've had 4 BP rewards, 3 LT, and... 7 LC. Theoretically we should be getting LT covers as our next reward, but for all I know we'll be seeing an 8th set of lazycaps in the pipeline.

    Shameless plug:

    3* reward history...

    viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6311

Now that tokens aren't guaranteed villains in lightning rounds we've been seeing them as prizes (hood, rags, doom)

My guess is another villain. I doubt they'd do mags or spidey until they finalize the changes. Maybe Loki? which I'm sure will excite everyone. Coooome on buffed Loki tournament!

    Edit:GSBW boo

Did the end time for the Savage Land fluctuate for anyone else? I checked it around 11pm est and it said 1hr 58 minutes or so...I checked it a few minutes later and it said 58 minutes. It threw me off a little bit as to when the event was ending...I assumed 12pm est anyway, it just caught me off guard tonight.

Ghast how are you always in my bracket! Grats on the win!
  • Gah... kicked out of top 2 again in the closing seconds, twice in one day!

Looked at my Hunt main bracket, #2 at the moment... and surrounded above and below by S.H.I.E.L.D members. Reckless one side and EvilSonGoku on the other.... /facepalm

Man, I cannot catch a break today! icon_lol.gif

All that whining aside, there does already appear to be significant separation by the bracket leaders from the rest of the pack. There is already a 5k gap between 1st and 10th in the above mentioned bracket.

With the significant scaling sure to push out all the 2**s in the second wave of the subs, the leaders may break away with an insurmountable lead.

Gaps right now might be just because people are doing fewer refreshes.
I'm in 4th, about 3k behind first, and I haven't even started Alaska yet.

Yeah, something to be a bit wary of in The Hunt is that your position in the main bracket is always a tad misleading. You might look like you're in a high position (or low position), but a lot depends on whether or not you and the players around you are fully caught up on all of the sub-events.

It caught a lot of people off guard during the first run and led to forum hysteria.

Noted, as that is a valid observation.

Will have to watch if the rubberband is off of the sub leaders or the total global main bracket leader.

Anybody figure out this new scaling yet? Difficulty seems to go up all by itself, even on the high danger nodes, so this isn't the community scaling we've been seeing in the past. Maybe it was changed so that community scaling is now a global modifier instead of a node modifier? At the rate scaling is skyrocketing we'll likely encounter level 400 nodes before the event ends.

Great question...really hoping it doesn't get that bad, but wow, some of the nodes just keep going up on their own. Just placed 6th or 7th in savage land, hadn't started the new Alaska yet. In savage, the ares/rag/bullseye node went from 140 ish when started, then 150, then 160, finally up to over 250 each.

And now in alaska, very first intro node, each baddie was about 45. Then the top left node after it, in the 60s, the the one below it, 140+ each. All essential nodes, 140+ capping out around 195 on the last essential. Haven't even played any of those yet, and already ramped up. Most of the other nodes are all 120+ as well at least.

Not sure if scaling is based on my personal progress, etc. Currently 55th in the main with just under 45k. Placed top 10 in first round of alaska, and top 10 in savage. Couldn't play much the last 8-9 hours of florida, so only placed top 50 or so. But, if my placement in the first alaska is what dictates the current node levels, wonderful. In 12 hours, most will most likely be 200+ at this rate.

I can't speak for EvilSonGoku, but I don't need any more X-Force covers, so I'm happy to do what I can to let you get 1 or 2 in the bracket. My main goal is top-10 and to help the alliance score.
  • Scaling this times seems like less of a flat modifier. That is, back in say Simulator Basic if your scaling high everything has at least 200 levels added to whatever its base is and you have generally 230s (and higher #s if levels are allowed to go up higher). In this event, certain nodes definitely scale lower. Devil Dino's node seems to be capped at around level 50 (because you must use Devil Dino who is only level 50) as a particularly generous example. It looks like scaling is now a multiplier to the base level of the mission plus whatever your roster accounts for.

It doesn't seem like anyone's personal scaling is high enough for suiciding to even matter, and community scaling continues to go up on its own. At least for me lazy Thor is still holding his own against level 230+ guys for now.

As I said in the other thread, I got 301 Ares, Daken, and Venom. Venom had 17000 health and Ares did 4,000+ with each onslaught. I suicided four teams -- two tank teams of low-level characters and then two high-level teams in case the amount of health lost might be a factor. The levels never dropped.

Same. I have no need for the xforce and just looking for 3 falcon covers. With busy work and RL, I am not playing this one optimally so I'll have to get what pts I can when I can but I don't have the time or desire to kill myself for top2.

I don't really know how I will be able to defeat those nodes in the coming days, since they are currently on the verge of being playable (up to level 200 on Ares node, was 230 on Bullseye 3 - and that was too much for me)... and the community scaling will only make the damn levels go up...

no Spiderman, oBW healing at most once during a fight since I use blue for Storm Wind storm, doing about 1-2 refreshes each cycle, up to 1st place and then stopping... seems kinda dumb...

Unless there's some kind of manual reset/tweak coming, my guess is that I am going to whine a lot quite shortly icon_e_wink.gif

Do you have Classic Mags? I used Spiderman only once -- in a low-level goon node because I didn't want to go to the prologue to heal -- and never used OBW. Classic Mags' blue has been my saving grace. Once I get five blue, I can avoid a lot of damage by controlling the board and using match-4s and critical tile matches to build AP in colors other than blue. Usually, I can take out the enemies within a couple of turns, before they trigger their big powers. For higher-level battles, I'll go in with a blue/purple boost, and for super-high-levels, I'll add on the +3 all-AP.

Just to give you an example. In the PVP, I wanted to have a fast battle and shield, so I went into a fight with a 212 HT, 141 BP, 141 Lazy Thor with +3 blue/purple, +3 red/yellow, and +3 all-AP. Since I already had enough blue AP at the start, I was able to use Magneto's blue power before moving a single tile. I quickly got enough AP for HT's red, Magneto's purple, and LT's yellow, which, in turn, created enough green for LT's green. With some fortunate cascades and match-5s, I managed to wipe out the entire team before my opponent ever got a turn.
  • Hey I am pretty new(~30 days in)

I am not completely understanding this scaling, I have been pretty competitive in this event so far, but the scaling just seems to be getting out of hand for me. I am going through Florida the 2nd Time and I cant even beat half the nodes one time, already level 150+ and my highest guy(pre-boost is only 77)

Is there anything I can do in order to lower the levels of these guys? or am I just doomed for this event? Is it based on some community scaling I have read about or is it all based on how many times I have been beating the nodes?

    Thanks

    Do you have Classic Mags?.

Hmmm... will have to cough up 1250 HP to get his blue up to 5... seems like a good bargain though if I am going to be able to 1-turn stuff...
    Thank you

And I guess that him being only level 82 will actually help ^_^

5 blue in mags is amazing. The infinite chains and cascades really add up! especially with crit boosts. Still waiting to see if he gets nerfed anytime soon...

Tried one node... 141 LT, 85 oBW and 82 cMags work absolutely great... and this was on an unlucky, blue-starved board ^_^

    Thank you again

It's funny because I hear a lot about Mags' red, but his blue and purple are my bed-and-butter. Usually, I have someone else who does more red damage for relatively low amounts -- Human Torch (who is awesome at high levels), Psylocke, Punisher, or Lazy Thor -- that I prefer the 5/3/5 build. Spamming red only is very useful if you have a lot of strike tiles out, but using someone like Patch in a PVE against 200+ foes is suicidal.
