    So, this is my first time getting bracketed with not one, but two S.H.I.E.L.D members. I've gotta say, it was simultaneously amusing and wince-inducing to see jozier yo-yo between 720 and 850 three times in the last few hours. Dude, I feel for ya.

    Also, L212 Hulk's 5G Thunderclap: holy f--- does that pack a wallop.

    bah. got to 1060ish then got hit for -40. My hulk is maxed so I didn't wanna even bother skipping 10 guys just to get a chance at the extra 500 ISO cover. My bracket is looking alright so I may be able to pull out a win without any more effort. icon_e_smile.gif

    i'm shielded at 1k if anyone sees me and feels like taking whacks. 250pts over #2 right now (and 550pts over #10), so i shouldn't need to unshield... hopefully.

    This tournament has been weird.

    First there I was being hit for 1 - 5 points, meaning I was picking up 35+ point retaliations. Today, after going through my retals, I stumbled into a sea of targets worth only 5-10 points, but all with low to mid-level 2* teams - guest Hulk + two 2* heroes at level ~45. So that's what I had to get me through 500-600.

    Did the update do something to normalise MMR? That would kind of make sense going into "tournament seasons". Anyway, not going to turn it down. After slogging through teams of max Hulk, Punisher, LThor, Patch (Pick Hulk and any 2), I'm happy to breeze through some games almost solely on match damage.

    I'm shielded at 721 and #1 in my bracket (though by ~7 points). If anyone sees me come up feel free to hit me prior to the 3-hours-left point - after that I may unshield if I need to (which is primarily if I'm in danger of falling out of top ten or if I have a shot at #1 - the former is more likely than the latter).

    I've not been attacked much this tournament; I think I'm like 2-2 on defense. I'm running 82 Hulk (boosted to 123)/83 Ares/82 Magneto. Ares has been a great anti-Hulk weapon; I've used onslaught with 30 Green AP twice now to one-shot Hulks, which is a nice satisfying move, especially for an unboosted character. Magneto's blue (I'm at five covers) has been the other star; I've been using it to overwrite anger tiles and generate critical after critical after critical.

    I've also been getting a lot of weird matches as I've gotten high up, like my mmr has had a nervous breakdown - it's primarily a mix of the kind of top teams you usually see around 700+ points, and maxed 1* and mid-level 2* teams for 2-7 points. Very few good choices, which is part of why I decided to hit a bunch of people and shield earlier than usual.

    I think MMR is junked up. Getting anyone from level 20 to level 141... also event point ranges anywhere from 75 to 800.

    Had to skip 10 times just to return someone that gave me more than 7 points. Then it was a 34 pointer with a max hulk/punisher/fathor. gah.

    7 points? that would be awesome! I got lucky and fought a 9 point match to reset the skip tax...

    Basically this is what I'm seeing: 2 points, 4 points, 6 points, 3 points. Hey, 20 points! L 141 Hulk/spidey/mags/whatever. Sigh, skip. 2 points...

    As an experiment, I have been using Hulk 78 (pre-buff) with a Magneto and Daredevil that are both slightly above 100. No retaliations or attacks yet so I can't say how it is going.

    I don't retaliate against teams with a level 100, mostly because I don't want to lose even more points.

    Just got back up to the low 600s and shielded for a couple hours so I could take a break.

    This might sound weird, but I was wondering if I could get some advice. I'm trying to figure out which teams are my best bet for the three different maps. I've mostly been using some combination of: 77 MN Thor, 69 Daken, 50 MStorm, 69 OBW (mostly for when my team needs healing), and could possibly use 64 CStorm if I needed to. Which two from that list do you think would be best for the the different board types?

    EDIT: icon_cry.gif In the 10 or so minutes since I made this post, I've been attacked for what would have been at least 80 points. So glad I got that Shield when I did... Though I'm looking through the matchups it's giving me now,and it's 120s Patch and CMags, 140 Patch and 130 CMags, and 100 Hood and 85 Black Widow. No thanks. Time to try tanking and see if I can get some better options...

    With that combination thor and mstorm are probably going to be the best on offense though dåkęn's serviceable too. Mstorm is being tanked in probably every color. Everyone knows how great she is in the desert and green tiles are how Thor got fat. I'd say for offense use those 2 especially in the desert. if you need to take a break sub in dåkęn bc he's more of a deterrent than mstorm. Yes with mstorm you can beat harder teams but if they all retal what's the point. Also start considering the retal before doing a game. If the points are high enough to net you positive even with the retal (over 25) go ahead and do it

    Given that team I think 600 is a very respectable score. Once you level more people up you'll be able to have a speed team for the initial climb (it'll prob include OBW and strike tiles) then a fatter team for protection until you can shield

    Okay.... so if a team will get me over 25 points if I beat them, then it's worth it to go against them? I'll try to remember that. Thanks. And I'll stick mostly with MStorm and Thor. They do seem like my best bet. I'm hoping being Shielded now will help me get out of people's retaliation lists.

    And yeah, these are pretty much my higher leveled characters. I haven't done well enough in bigger events to get a lot of 3* covers to where I could start effectively using them over 2*s. My highest 3* characters are all in the low 40s: LazyCap (Or does he have a different nickname?), Hulk, and Punisher.

    Locked how do you seem to end up in my brackets lol. You making a push for top spot because I don't think I am pushing much anymore unless the alliance needs the points should be good for top 10

    Ha, I specifically tried to enter at a non-EST time and got a Deadly Venom, a SHIELD member, an Olympian, and a Misfit in the bracket, lol. And nope, I will only push for top 5 and be content with top 10 if that fails.
