Depends on what you mean by reasonably strong team. I use a lvl 128 Hulk with either OBW or lvl 102 Cmags and I get routinely beat to death in most tournaments once I get past 300. And with the new matchmaking system, it's tougher to make up that lost ground because the matchups are a lot tougher. I can't really speak for everyone there - maybe some people have an easier time with it than I do - but Season 2 has been a lot tougher to do PVP in than Season 1. I know PVE is a crapshoot because of inconsistent scoring/rubberbanding, and I wouldn't advocate abandoning PVP completely because that is where 3* covers are handed out the most consistently, but PVE would be an easier route for the rest of us because it doesn't require a heavyweight roster most of the time.0
-
Yikes, didn't know it was like that for other people. I'm pretty much not attacked at all until I'm in the 700+ area.
What are your beginning opponent's levels for your pvp matches?0 -
Typically see OBW + lvl 141 3*, or teams of 100+ lvl 3* characters. OBW + Punisher is the new OBW + 2* Thor; lots of OBW + 141 Punisher teams.
Which I will fight most of the time, although is easy to get dinged up pretty good. And to clean up a thing I said, it's more 400 point level that I get pounded; I've lost 100+ points when I've been just over 400 before (I think that happend in the BP PVP if I remember correctly)
I`m trying to push hard in both PVP (Cmags Purple) and PVE. Honestly, don`t give a rat turd about the new Storm, but I DO want that Red Hulk to finish him up.0 -

O_O
I envy you! Just like BoRaiCho, I start getting pummeled recently as soon as I get above 400 points. Although I dont have a high leveled roster (My best are still OBW/Thor) I have lately been getting matched up with 141 teams, which means my MMR is so high now that 141 teams are constantly seeing me and with a 2* team, I am nothing but easy points for all of them. With less focus on PVP we could go back to tanking properly to help control that. Im going to need to tank several pvps to get back to where I was.
Everyone will still do pvp Im sure, so we will sill get some Iso from that area, but we havent gotten a top 100/3* cover for over a month now. On the flip side, we could actually get some 3* covers in pve, including the new ones.
Oh, and if everyone doesnt know yet, they main event nodes that opened up gave way to some "essencial" nodes (you need the Hulk) that will give you upwards of 2000 points, allowing you to EASILY get the top progression rewards in just a few hours! A lot of peopel have backed off the event and I went from barely trying to top 40 in a matter of hours. It will be pretty easy with the horrible rubberbanding this even to grab 2x storm covers0 -
So, how many of you got screwed with the ninja scaling update?0
-
Scaling has gone crazy, I'm against 141 teams in most nodes now and I've only got 85s, even with the boosts I'm heavily handicapped0
-
While it made some of my matches harder, it seems to have helped me as far as competition goes. Barely playing and I'm keeping my position.
Should have top 40 locked with minimal effort.0 -
I lucked out - since Im on steam and the update is broken on steam and not working, I get the crazy low scaled enemies still. Should also get top 400
-
My PvE and PvP match up are screwed. I am facing lvl 141 opponents in both. I'll try, but to be honest, work has just gotten real busy for me. If it seems I am not keeping up, which I probably won't be, then ask and I will go. I understand and don't want to mooch off the hard work you all are doing.
Besides work getting busier, like I have said before, I have turned really sour on this game. I am not having any luck, and the chances of pulling anything other than a 2* wolverine, for me, is impossible. I'll try to keep at it, but like I said, feel free to let me know if I need to go so you can fill my spot.0 -
Yeah, trying to get 3* through tokens is a real frustrating affair. Try sacrificing a chicken to Demiurge. I did, and got a Red Patch on my next pull.0
-
Ugh, so since the patch did hit steam by the time I got home, and I died on some super buffed ares getting fed for constant sunders, AND it ends about an hour before I get home from work today, I prob wont get top 200 now. This rediculous rubber banding and 2k point nodes for everyone is screwing everythign up. It makes it pointless to even try if you miss more than a couple refreshes, its insane.
I am also getting pretty fed up with the direction of the game, tbh. If it keeps up even my desire to keep playing at a competitive level will be waning. The game has become a job and a chore, not fun. Its a shame that they have actively been ruining a good game.0 -
Just a heads up to you guys. I think I'm quitting the game, or at the very least reducing my game time to extremely casual, ie. waiting at the doctor's office. The game has become too much of a grind. I have suddenly lost all interest in playing and seriously almost forget to even log on anymore. The realization hit me because I was so excited about Storm Mohawk. Then I realized that I would probably only get 2 covers for her and maybe a few more in future events. But it would be forever before I ever max her out because her covers would stop being released, just as Lazy Thor and Lazy Cap's have disappeared. And in the meantime, while trying to get those covers, another new character would be released...and another...and another. More grinding, more grinding. And for what? The only people who max these characters within a reasonable amount of time are those who pay for it. I come up against those teams in PVP and I feel disdain for them because they didn't earn it. And no matter how much I strive and struggle, I will never be at the top. There will always be people with better teams because they just buy them. Add to that the increased difficulty with MMR, the joke that is rubber banding that allows you to get to 1st and be down to rank 267 only four hours later... I'm just tired of it. I'm ready to move on to another addiction.
I'm used to MMO's where it is actually possible to be the best on your server, in the best guild, in the best gear, first to beat bosses, first to beat new dungeons, etc. I miss kicking **** and being at the top. I don't appreciate being constantly beaten by people who buy their way up, while I bust **** and actually put in time to earn my spot. Yes, people can buy their way in MMO's too, but it's obvious who has because they suck and they are relegated to pugs until they earn their place and learn their class. Anyways...
I will stick it out through the end of Season 2 and do my best to not let you guys down in the events. But after that I'll be leaving the alliance so you guys can find somebody who is still roaring to go.0 -
Its a shame to see you go - you are a great player and a central, reliable, active member of the alliance. Not sure we will be able to fill your spot with anyone as good as you
That being said, I can't blame you in the slightest. Every single one of your complaints are valid, just like the complaints of every other great player on this forum who have been quitting in droves. This current PVE has gotten me pretty close to the same conclusion you have reached. When you can drop 200+ spots in a couple hours just because you arent playing every refresh every 2.5 hours - well, it gets pretty ridiculous. It doesnt matter how much you grind or how well you play - everyone can catch up due to ridiculous rubber banding rules and scaling makes the entire game unfair - everyone is fighting different leveled enemies of varying difficulty, but everyone is competing for the same rewards. Why should someone who has to deal with 3k damage sunders be directly competing with someone who is dealing with 500 damage sunders? It makes no sense and ruins the competition altogether. With every patch they are making things worse, and not even fixing the bugs they say they fix in thier patch notes. As a development team, I am VERY unimpressed by their level of talent and professionalism.
Add in a complete lack of communication with the player base and I just dont see what the point is now - there are better games out there. they took a great IP and have made a mess of it.
I will be waiting to see what happened towards the end of this season as well, but I may end up having to step down as leader as well - Im just done with these devs. I love the game, but I hate the people running it. I will continue to support the alliance through the transition, though. It all depends on how the devs handle the end of this season and pve.0 -
Thank you you two. Those two posts summed up what I have been feeling. I am trying to stick it out for Season 2 to be done, but that is looking to be hard to do.
I do play a mobile game called Brave Frontier. It is like Final Fantasy, if you liked that. I love this game. The developers really take care of their fan base in it. Server goes down for any length of time and they are compensating everyone. Generally we are getting free gems, which are the currency that you buy with real money. If anyone is interested, let me know and I can pass on my player ID for a friend and point you to the sub-reddit for the game. The community is GREAT!!!0 -

Add to that the fact that some people didn't even have access to the Anderson Biotech subevent that just ended this morning. I didn't even see it on my events tab. Apparently some people who updated on Monday didn't have the subevent appear for them. So we missed out on it completely.
Bums me out because I've been playing this game almost since release. It is the first Android game I've ever played for more than 30 minutes. Hell, at one point I was playing as much as I used to play WoW, 8-12 hours a day. I even played while walking down the sidewalk to the store. Who knows, I might get back into it eventually, check back now and then to see if/how things improve. Until then, I'm probably going to try to stick to games that actually end. I've got a bunch of PS3 games still wrapped in cellophane gathering dust and a PS4 that's barely been used!0 -
Looks like I got beat to the punch a few times today, but...I also will be leaving the alliance at the end of season 2. The main reasoning behind it is I'm really not having any fun playing this game anymore, and I'm looking at playing a lot less (if at all). I don't wanna be a fat load weighing down everyone else in the alliance by playing sparingly, so I figure it would be better to walk away (without leaving everyone high and dry for the season). And my Gaming Backlog O'Shame is starting to pile up...
Speaking of better run games than this one, anyone else play Marvel Heroes on PC? It was a bit of a mess on launch, but it's gotten really good, has a great dev team that supports/listens to the community, and is adding new **** all the time. I play off and on, maybe more on once I'm done with this.0 -
I have REALLY thought about trying Marvel Heroes. Like you all, my games are piling up though. I just got a PS3 in Feb and have hardly logged hours into it. I have all the Batman games to play, along with a Walking Dead, Lego Marvel Superheroes, and one of the Assassin's Creed. I also have the Diablo 3 expansion to try out still. I want to get a lot of gaming in this summer, since come August when school starts, I will have no time to. I just completed my first Associates. I have to get my second Associates and Bachelor degree in Computer Programming.
I had a lot of fun guys and gals. I am sorry that D3 ruined the game for everyone. It was nice meeting you all and I will enjoy these last few weeks.0 -

is marvel heroes worth playing?
I continue to redeem codes from the newsletter but have only been in game twice. I only have black widow, thor, and scarlet witch. All that gear/stuff in my inventory confused me and I quit.0 -
Oh that's sad
But I understand you guys. I pretty much agree with your points. I only play for a little over a month - I also played a while when the game was in beta and you needed 15 covers for each ability to max out , but I can still see the game changing in the wrong direction. It's sad but if that's what you wanna do, do it, you shouldn't do things against yourself in life.
Personally I'm not quitting the game, but I also feel kinda bad about some aspects of the game.0
