Yeah, Marvel Heroes got pretty good after a while. There is quite a lot of stuff to do (with a lot of events going on right now, with the games one year anniversary going on). While they do pile on items and currencies - it is a Diablo clone, after all - it doesn't have the kinda complexity in understanding exactly what it is that your gear does that some similar games do (*cough*SACRED 2*cough*)
Bottom line, if you liked Diablo and/or games like it, Marvel Heroes is definitely worth a shot.0 -
Like I said, I wont leave the remaining players high and dry, and I may play a bit here and there, but I wont be competing for high covers or anything, and i may drop out for days at a time, in which case I would prefer someone else take leadership who will be more active and is willing to boot those of us who are quitting for the most part when you find peopel to fill us in. Its a shame, but as of now there arent a ton of people right now who are reliably hitting large scores whoa rent alreayd in a large top 100- 20 man.0

Okay, season two is over. And it's pretty telling how much interest I've lost in this game, considering that season one I got rank 17 and this season I was like 260 or something.
Since the ISO-8 Brotherhood PVE event is still going on, I won't just jump ship. Let me know when you find a replacement for me and I'll leave the alliance so you can invite him, or just boot me. Until then, I'm still going to be playing, albeit halfheartedly and irregularly. But it's better than nothing I guess and that way you guys can at least get my points if you don't find somebody before the end of the event.
I'm pretty bummed to be leaving and honestly I think I would have quit the game at the beginning of season two if it wasn't for this alliance. You guys are a cool bunch of people to chitter chat with in game and made it much more fun than it would be otherwise. Thank you for putting up with my swype shenanigans... There should be a class or something.0 -
Sorry for the all of a sudden leave.
Still, I would like to thank you guys, especially Kermit for inviting me in. It was a really nice time. It was also my "first", so I'll remember it for my whole life
I liked how we chatted, the atmosphere was fantastic. However, I didn't like how our scores were so different. We had like 5 people overscoring, 8 people scoring good, and the rest underscoring or even not scoring at all. I don't know, maybe my brackets were easy, but I didn't grind at all and still came out as one of the best scorers. If we add up the fact, that we had at least 2 top scorers leaving after season 2, that's pretty much where my decision comes from.
After all, I had a very nice experience and I would like to thank you all once again. Keep up the good work and keep up that atmosphere. Good luck guys!
Cheers,
Amade-uko0 -
Hey, could I get commander status to help out with recruiting?
I won't kick any existing members, only the ones I have brought in.0 -
I need to hand it off to someone and you are the only person who has volenteered, so it looks like a yes. Even Umbrus seems to have pretty much left us at this point.
I will not be quitting the alliance as I will still play from time to time and can help out, but if you guys figure out a way to be competitive again I will leave so you can fill in my spot. I am burnt out. I didnt play at all the last 2 days and it felt great. I swapped over to some different games that I actually enjoyed and it didnt feel like work. This game has just been gettign worse every update, and now with the devs not even visiting the forum anymore, I am pretty much officially checked out. How can I really care about a game that doesnt care about its players?0 -

And PVE, don't even get me started. I think I was 2nd in one of the subevents with like 4 hours left to go. Went to sleep, woke up to find I'd been knocked to top 250. That happened every single time. I'd make it to top 10 or 15, be back down into the 200's a few hours later. I changed tactics and tried a few times to do my grind in the very last 2-3 hours. By then the teams were such high level, it was absurd.
Anyway, no, I'm not going to be playing really anymore because I've been turned off to the game. But I just wanted to clarify a huge reason why my scores this season were so low. And I know that a few other people were complaining as well that they were struggling. Yes, Amade, I think you had the good luck to find yourself in brackets that were generally much easier than many of us.
Just an idea of the teams I've been facing since the beginning of season two. Doesn't matter if I skip because the next one will be more of the same. And more often than not a team like that is only worth 20 points, not 46.

The image you posted looks exactly liek what I have been seeing...0

The pairing is seriously screwed up. I wasn't doing as great as you Pand, and I was facing the same teams as you and kermit, as well. I understand the game is supposed to push you to do more and better to advance. One of my main problems is, when you redeem 25 heroic tokens in one sitting and you get 2/3 being 2* Wolverine, and the rest, except 1, being all 2*s, the game isn't fun anymore. There is no way to advance, unless you spend major bucks for points to level covers. That's on top of the problems with bracketing and such that has been beat into the ground already.
While not being competitive in my play style, I will still pop on and play a couple games out of boredom, sometimes. I can bow out of the alliance, if you wish. Whatever you need from me, just let me know.0 -
i will admit, i havent been grinding as much as i was when i first joined. i just have so much stuff going on right now i only have an hour or 2 to play the game each day. might have low pvp scores this season, so i hope Kermit or Turbo wont boot me if they are pretty low.0

I continue to redeem codes from the newsletter but have only been in game twice. I only have black widow, thor, and scarlet witch. All that gear/stuff in my inventory confused me and I quit.0 -
I want to tank, but truthfully I don't know how. Anyone willing to throw a few pointers please?0

They keep changing it, so what I say today may be different next week....
Currently there are two ways.
1) Enter a battle with someone with a bad team. Just make matches and let them beat you. Retreating no longer works very well, you have to let the other team wipe you fully.
2) Enter a pvp as soon as it starts so you have feeder teams against you in your nodes (The teams that are required char + a couple level 2s). Win enough to get 300-400 points, leaving one of the nodes with one of those feeder teams. Once you hit your goal (300-400), battle against the remaining feeder team using a bad team and BEAT them. If you lose against the feeder team this wont work. I like to use my fully covered Moonstone and mHawkeye both at around level 15 and the loaner req character. You want to be strong enough to beat the feeder team but weak enough to lose against EVERYTHING else. Now just sit back and watch the losses come in.0 -

I don't know about #1, haven't tried it. #2 is where it's at though. I have been using that method for a long time now. It seems there is a threshold you must cross before tanking will be effective. For me, it's a score of 700. Also, I'd recommend putting in the lowest level team you can. I always put in a level 1 Storm and Widow (5/5/3 and 3/5).0 -
I used to use #2 mostly, but since I struggled with even GETTING to 300 points for a while seeing nothign but 141s, I had to use #1 for the last 3 days. Outcome - as of today I am seeing nothing but 2* teams, mostly with non-max leveled characters.
So #1 does seem to work0 -
I've tried #1 and it doesn't seem to be working for me. I am still getting lvl 141s. I may try the other option on the next PvP.
What was the problem with you getting locked out of an event Turbo? I saw you talking about it on the chat.0 -
On my second climb, as I approached 600 (after some hardcore tanking), the nodes weren't being replenished which lead to the event becoming grayed out and unplayable after they were depleted.
I had to join the Spidey tournament and reach a score of 700 before the event came back. Don't know if it's intentional to counter tanking or just a glitch, but I think you should be careful during the next pvp. Got lucky in this one because the Friday one runs concurrently with the midweek one. Don't have that luxury with the other pvps if I'm remembering correctly.0 -
What's next for our alliance? Not a lot of us are playing in the last event blind justice we had only 13 players that have played this events, dont need to be high level just play daily or make some points. If we can just score 300 pts each we will be competitive again. It's difficult to perform well when we have a big alliance and people are not playing.0
-
Going forward we are going to be putting up some minimums and goals we can't have 12 members carrying the rest of the alliance anymore. People like kermit pan and dom have all said they are not going to be playing as often but all of them are still contributing so that's cool but there are some who haven't said anything and aren't contributing so we brought in some new guys who were all looking for a.place to contribute hopefully this adds a new spark to some of us who were getting burnt out.0
-
I have previously said that my participation would be down for a bit. Sorry if I am not meeting the standards. Burnout, frustration, and a lot more duties at my job happened. I am still trying to contribute as much as I possibly can.0
