This is a place for agents of the alliance "Locke and Load" to take a load off in between missions, discuss strategies and goals, and chat about whatever's on their minds. So come grab a refreshing beverage from the bar (on the house), queue up your favourite song on the jukebox, and introduce yourself to the people who will be watching your back in while we fight the good fight together.

We're off to a strong start, people! Currently at position #20 in the main event, with only 140k points between us and the #1 slot. I believe we've sent a strong message to the S.H.I.E.L.D. community that we're worth keeping an eye on. If anyone has an interest in designing a banner, it would be awesome to have something to show off our unified front on the forums.

More importantly, I'd like to take the opportunity for all of us to get to know each other a little better. So stop on in to say hi and tell us a little about yourself or how things are going for you so far.

As for me, I'm an Actor living in NY, USA. I've been playing MPQ for a little over 3 months, and I also play League of Legends on a regular basis with some of my RL friends. I'm also into indy/art games or anything with a strong immersive experience, and I'm definitely a cinephile. I had been starting to feel a little burned out with MPQ over the past few tourneys, but now that I have something greater than myself to work towards, I'm excited be back in active play. I'm currently working on grooming The Punisher to be my first 3* heavy hitter, though those pesky red covers have eluded me still.

Here's my steam user page if you'd like to add me as a friend: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197993892267/

Hope to hear from you all soon. Stay awesome, friends.

Looks like we got the makings of a pretty good alliance here if we're doing this well this soon. Having a (barely) upgraded Psylocke has made a huge difference!

As for me, I've been around this game awhile and playing regularly - perhaps too much - and mainly making a go of it with a yawn worthy 2* team of Wolverine, OBW and Cap. No real 3* characters built too high yet, but I figure Hulk's gonna be a big part of whatever I end up doing as I've pulled a lot of Hulk lately (which isn't as filthy as it sounds, I promise.)

Glad to be part of the team!

Hello, I've only been playing this game for about a month but I'm definitely hooked. My strongest character is ** Wolverine, usually used with *Storm and **Black Widow. So far it works out pretty well. If only I had an active yellow though.

As for myself I also play a lot of League of Legends with some of my online friends. I'm currently studying computer science in Utah. Though I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with my eventual degree. Ah well, I've still got time to figure that out I suppose.
• Hi guys, Im a software developer over in Seattle, 28, and been playing about 3 months now.

I like having a diverse roster - it has helped me place well in a lot of events. For that reason, I try to keep all the chaacters I can at useable levels. Although right now simply having a Dr Doom at all has been able to keep me in the top 5 for both hard and normal subevents icon_razz.gif

Right now I am working on getting my Ares up to max cause I love him, plus he is super boosted this event. Unfortunetly I just hit covercap for him at 61. My other main target for leveling lately has been Hood, my highest level 3* at level 40. Im excited about the lonestar event to grab another 3 covers for him - looking especially good since right now we are in 1st in that event!

I have a pretty similar strategy kermit. It may not be the best thing for pvp, but it works rather well for pve and I have a lot more fun by using a variety of characters. Definitely agree with both of you about Psylocke/Dr. Doom being critical to have for these events, even completely untrained. The surprise hit for me this event has been bullseye. He's the only buffed character besides daredevil who does anything with pinks and those protect tiles actually mitigate a fair chunk of damage when he's buffed so much. Anyone else been using him?

There's a nasty combo in this sub-event: Assassin, Grenadier, Lazy Thor. The two goons generate (I think) 2 green AP each per turn, and Thor fires off call the storm every 3 (or 6)turns. Manageable right now, but I think I'll be avoiding that particular mission once the lvl scaling starts kicking in. . .

I hope everyone's enjoying their first alliance rewards. icon_e_smile.gif 4000 ISO and 50 HP is a nice a chunk of pocket change. Keep up the good work! Also note that the lone-star-skirmish is an alliance event, so it's a good opportunity to put some of your unused heroes to work. I tend to suck in these events since I stopped training my 1 stars a long time ago, but I'll try to at least hit the 300 mark.
• hi,
im playing since 52days so..
ive got only wolverine, blackwidow** and storm** maxed, but its a very good attack team and with sup in pve strong aswell.
i likw many chars but cant decide wich im going for. hulk for pvp, panter for storm and many more.
i take what i get first i guess bc i lack only covers.
lvlved all ***chars to cover max, but killed all *, so im pretty screwed his event.
dunno if its worth it to open slots and lvl some * covers.
last event went well for me i guess. got #1 in normal and #10 in hard - #2 overall.
i was so focused on the fight at normal that i allmost forgot hard and had only 15min left for it.

2xares, 1bullseye, 1xwolv + 1x ares normal pack
not the best drops
• Been playing for almost 90 days but only played a little at the start and barely ventured beyond the prologue until it was nearly finished. Missed out on so much easy ISO and tokens that I could have gotten from just playing a few rounds in the events. I also spent way too much ISO leveling 1 star heroes. Makes the current lone star event a good one for me at least. My team of max level IM35, Venom, and Jugs is pretty fierce in the format.

For any of the newer players in the alliance don't fret if you can't complete all nodes in the current events. A month ago I struggled to get anywhere and now I can complete all nodes without too much trouble. As someone else mentioned having a diverse roster really helps. For people still making transition to 2 star teams this event is a great on for working on Wolvie or Ares which in turn will help in the events. Wolvie is so good this event that I got him from 70 something to max. Red claw ability often one shots an enemy when used. Would like to max Ares too but keep getting yellow covers.

Right now for the simulator I'm using whoever is booted. Last round my team was Psylocke, 2 star Wolvie, and Daken for most levels. Just flooded the board with strike tiles and blitzed the enemies down. For the current rounds I'm using Doom, Wolvie, and Daken/oBW/mThor. For one of the jungle events I used mStorm with Doom and Thor for the ISO cycling.

For the member who sold their 1 stars, I would say it's not worth the investment to try and rebuild them just for the occasional 1 star event. Storm is the only 1 star character that I still use because she's a terror on desert or jungle maps.
• Greetings! I am getting Loki tomorrow, so I guess that means I have been playing for 75 days. Wow, that time flew! I didn't even know this place existed when I started playing the game. I had used a ton of HB tokens on covers and not getting squat. Also, because I couldn't get the slots opened, I lost out on a few Thor covers from the prologue. I am currently transitioning over to a 2-star team of Magneto (Now), Capt America and Storm - Modern. I throw in Wolverine or Thor from time to time, if they are buffed, or Storm is taken out of consideration. I am starting to get more 3-Star covers, so those are becoming built slowly. I am trying to decide if I want to sell off my 1-Star Hawkeye for Bullseye. I do have a Hod cover waiting as well that I need to free a slot for. My best moment in this game - Shortly after finding the forums and reading how Invisible Woman is SOOOO great, I spent 500 ISOs and pulled her cover - Blue.

Currently, I am a full-time worker, dad and returning to college. I am able to play this game a lot more because I tore my labrum muscle in my shoulder and have been on light duty at work since August. In May, I'll have an Assoc of Computer Science, in Aug I'll have my Assoc of Arts. This coming Sept., I plan to continue on to receive my Bachelor of Compute Science. I am hoping to become a computer programmer or System Administrator. I love messing with computers and deciding which field to go into is hard for me.

Good luck in game all! Sorry if I don't speak much. Trust me, I am absorbing as much knowledge from you all as I can.
• Looks like we have a good group all in about the same area! And like Tippe - I would highly suggest people at least train up a 1*storm - she is even still used in 2* teams and I have seen her used in 3* teams to start basically infinite combos. on a desert map, once she gets 5 red its as good as over. I would also suggest a 1*BW - if just for her 5 turn stun. I still use it from time to time in a 2* team. But then again, I havent sold any of my 1* people I trained up at all just in case of events that use them or buff them, so if you have the cover space I would say go and train some of them up! Shouldnt be too hard to get the extra space now that we will be getting a nice steady flow of HP from being here together! Im rocking this event with maxed IM35, BW, and Storm, already at around 275 points and may end as high as 500-600 or so without even using any health packs icon_e_smile.gif

Fava- I noticed that combo - already scaled enough to take me out this morning. I got in a few kills last night but this morning it was able to take out a (buffed to 118) Doom, (buffed to 71) hood, and (buffed to 101) Ares. I dont have a bullseye (I kinda hate all the hawkeye versions) but I have been using my OBW for her purple. Even though she isnt buffed, aggressive recon is a game changer and she never gets hit because her colors are covered by my other guys who are buffed to twice her level icon_e_smile.gif

Yeah, it's definitely not worth it to try to rebuild 1-stars just for this event. Unless your MMR is low or you have buckets of ISO lying around, you won't be able to compete with people's maxed out teams and you'll regret having wasted a bunch of effort on some mediocre characters. However, I've actually been having a relatively easy time beating the 50/50/40 IM/Storm/BW teams that everyone's been using with my modest 40/32/34 Juggernaut/Storm/BW team. Juggernaut's great for scaring people off or beating them down on defence as well. If you happen to have or can make easily a 30-40 team with a tank + Storm + BW, here's the strategy I use:
The goal is to get your Storm green + Storm red + BW purple combo going as quickly as possible while Isolating IM so you can stunlock him with BW's blue. Take out storm first, since she can enable long Ap generation chains for your opponent and ruin everything, then switch to BW. Unless you get rather unlucky, you should be able to stun-lock your opponent and finish them off before they use either of IMs heavy hitter abilities. Once you hit the "sweet spot" it's almost impossible for you to lose.

Use Storm's red when there are a decent number of environment tiles on the board to cause chains. Juggernaut is there primarily to tank, and I'll only use headbutt if I get desperate. So far I haven't needed to do this, and I save a lot of health this way. My rough priority list, as far as colors go:

Enemy Protect tiles(They can mitigate most of your damage if you don't take them out.)
Green (Start your combo and prevent theirs. These are way way more important than the rest.)
Red (Deny IMs Repulsor Blast. Can help with storm's combo.)
Blue/Black (Kind of equal. You need blacks to take out the first targets but you also need a stockpile of blues so you can stunlock. Generally the blacks are more important early, and the blues are more important later. Also, watch out if the enemy starts stockpiling a lot of blues, as IMs freeze ray will wreck you.)
Purple (I don't bother with them early, but once I get some off of storm, I'll focus on them more to start stealing so I can get the subercombo going.)
Yellow (Can't use them and and the protect tiles from IM can be managed)

Obviously, you have to adapt to the circumstances as they come. But this strategy has been working while losing me only around 10-20% of my team's hp each match. Not bad for being heavily outlevelled.

@menious Sorry to hear about your injury. I hope you have a speedy recovery. As far as trading off hawkeye for bullseye goes, you might as well as long as you're not using him. Neither of them are very good, but Bullseye is considerably rarer and will occasionally be useful for special events, whereas 1-star hawkeye is almost never useful for anything. If by hod you mean the hood, then it'd be worth giving up both of them for him.

Hey, I've been playing for over 100 days now (I think, kinda lost track), and I'm thrilled to be in an alliance. I, like a few others here, am a software engineer, currently in DC. Not weird at all, right?

As for my roster, I typically rock max lvl 2* Wolvie, BW, & Thor, but I'm working on boosting Ares (because his green & yellow skills are ridiculous), and have a bunch languishing in the 60s. Got 3* Hulk & IM stuck at 77 right now till I can find some more covers, but I have plenty of stuff to dump ISO into, so I'm happy.

My play habits are basically as often as I can, to the chagrin of my wife. I don't usually play during the day during the week, but the rest of the time, it's pretty much a guarantee that I'm getting some matches in as long as I'm not spending 6 hrs recharging....

Anyways, I'm glad we have such an active group, and I look forward to reaping even better alliance rewards in the future. Thanks again for the add!!
• Hey guys!

I have been playing for a few months now and its pretty addicting. Pretty active as i play early in the mornings before work and afterschool.

Im 27 and I am a elementary school teacher in so cal

My main team right now is Patch, Classic Magneto, and either dr doom, classic storm, hulk, or spider man.

Our alliance is looking like at least a top 25 alliance and cant complain about that! Excited to do well with you guys and collect some great covers!

[strong]Ares 4/4/5 [/strong]
Green - from 4 to 5 means you can use his Green with 5 Green instead of needing 6. No damage increase. Will rarely in a situation where you only have 5 Green and you need to use his ability. 4 does just as much damage otherwise.

Red - Amazing damage if under the needed health. But most of the time you aren't looking at matches where he will be under this threshold. Gets bumped up from 3 to 4 due to increased damage and the minimal disadvantage by taking one from Green.

Yellow - Amazing ability, vastly underrated imo.

[strong]aWolvie 5/5/3[/strong]
Green - His most benefitial ability. Adding strike tiles for everyone on the team to benefit from.

Red - Pure damage. Can take a nuisance out of a fight. One of the best Red abilities amongst 2* and 3*'s in terms of damage.

Yellow - Another nice ability and can be argued that it should be pushed up to 4 or 5. But the healing is situational, and imo I would rather push the slots towards the other two abilities which can be used any time during the match. (you still heal almost 400 points per turn even at level 3 against 562 per turn at level 5)

[strong]cStorm 5/5/3 when I started writing this... But this was an intial build plan that was made by the noobie chief[/strong]

Green - The weakest of her abilities in terms of damage. But can transition 12 to other colors by destroying random tiles. At 12 Green, the effect is the same at 4 and 5. The real benefit comes when you get over 12 Green before you use it. At level 4 if you have 24 Green, you can call it twice and get 24 random tiles. At level 5, if you have 24 Green, you can call it twice and get 36 random tiles(24 the first strike, 12 the 2nd). This works all the way up to 30 Green.

Blue - By far her best ability. At full level it deals out up to 5010 damage and stuns the target. Deals the same damage at 4 as 5, but stuns the target for one extra turn at 5. Arguement could be made to push one of these to Yellow.

Yellow - Plan B. This ability can save your **** in a single turn. If you get hit hard by a full team attack(Wind Storm/Call storm) or are beaten down pretty bad and things look bleak, this ability can completely turn the tide of the match, and even wipe out the opposing team in one fell swoop. Doesn't really have much use until everyone on your team is less than 50% tho. So situational. Arguement could be made to take one from Blue to make this one more potent.

[strong]Daken 5/5 [/strong]- No Brainer, two ability character with no benefit to not maxing both.

[strong]Hawkeye 5/5/3[/strong]

Blue - See Purple. Gets better benefit from the level with minimal disadvantage by losing it from Purple.

Red - See Purple. Gets better benefit from the level with minimal disadvantage by losing it from Purple.

Purple - The difference in Level three and Level 5 is that he aviods with only 4 Purple tiles on the board instead of needing 6. Most the time there will be 6 or more on the board anyway. Push these levels towards Blue and Red

[strong]Magneto(mn) 4/5/4[/strong]

Blue - 4 by default, cause I didn't want my AP costs to go from 9 to 13 by making the jump from 4 to 5. Rarely use this ability. I guess argument could be made to move one of these to Red.

Purple - His most useful ability. Blue AP generator. At full strength, it costs 9 to place 5 Blue, almost assuring enough Blue for someone's Blue ability(most likely not mnMagneto's Blue)

Red - Again, 4 by default, cause I didn't want my AP costs to go from 11 to 14. At 4 it still makes this very potent with a 1 turn timer, and the base damage is not effected. Arguement could be made to move one of these to Blue.

[strong]mCap 3/5/5[/strong]

Yellow - Too expensive. And other characters have far more useful Yellows.

Red - Damage + Returns all but 1 of the AP in 3 turns. At full strength, can target any tile. Very useful in both PVE and PVP.

Blue - Stuns + Returns all but 2 of the AP in 3 turns. At full strength, can target any tile. Very useful in both PVE and PVP.

[strong]Moonstone 5/5/3[/strong]

Purple - See [strong]Black[/strong]. Gets better benefit from the level with minimal disadvantage by losing it from [strong]Black[/strong].

Red - See [strong]Black[/strong]. Gets better benefit from the level with minimal disadvantage by losing it from [strong]Black[/strong].

[strong]Black[/strong] - Too expensive. If you are in dire need of this ability and willing to spend 17 [strong]Black[/strong] for it, it will do just as good at level 3. Level 4 only benefits if you are converting a tile with a counter already more than 2. Level 5 adds a guaranteed 1 turn stun to the target, with or without a countdown tile on the board.

[strong]oBW 3/5/5[/strong] - For a while there I thought maybe 5/3/5 would be the best build, as Blue with no enemy timers heals the same at 3 as 5. But found out quickly that being able to heal that 50% with enemy timers is crucial to prologue healing.

Purple - At level three, it costs 3 AP less than at level five, and steals from all colors except Purple. Arguement could be made to take one from [strong]Black[/strong] to make this level four.

Blue - A must to get to level 5 for that healing 50% even with enemy timers

[strong]Black[/strong] - Getting an extra round of damage for most Blue/Purple matches makes her attack on par with many of the heavy hitters. Plus it will double dip on the strike tiles. Because of that, this needs to be a bare minimum of 4.

[strong]Thor(mn) 3/5/5[/strong]
Red - You get three Yellow tiles regardless of level. I calculate the difference in level 3 damage and level 5 Damage to be about 250 points. With other members of your team still alive, you probably wouldn't be using his Red ability, regardless of the level.

Yellow - Decent Damage, but the major benefit is the placing of Green tiles to help feed his Green ability.

Green - His best ability. 4000 damage at full strength.

[strong][strong]Black[/strong] Panther 5/3/5[/strong]

Yellow – Finally something that makes good use of the environment tiles regardless of the battleground. The difference in level 3 and level 5 is 50 points of damage per strike tile (and obviously per damage source).

Blue – Level 4 allows the max number of protect tiles to go from 3 to 5. But unlikely that this scenario will happen often enough to justify taking a level from the other two abilites. For the scenario of going from your 3rd protect tile to your 4th, the countdown tile and three protect tiles would have had to survive through 8 turns(the 4th protect tile would be placed on the 8th turn.) The 5th level has a bump in the strength of the protect tiles, but would take two levels to do this and would greatly hinder the other abilities.

[strong]Black[/strong] – His best ability. 3162 damage to every enemy, for max total of 9486 damage. Would say this is non-negotiable.

[strong]Cap(SR) 3/5/5[/strong]
Yellow - Too expensive. And other characters have far more useful Yellows.

Red - Damage + Returns all but 1 of the AP in 3 turns. At full strength, can target any tile. Very useful in both PVE and PVP.

Blue - Stuns + Returns all but 2 of the AP in 3 turns and turns into a protect tile. At full strength, can target any tile. Very useful in both PVE and PVP.
Dr. Doom 5/5 No Brainer, two ability character with no benefit to not maxing both.

[strong]Falcon 5/4/4[/strong]
Yellow – His best ability. Can change a friendly tiles strength. The difference between level 3 and level 5 is a total tile increase of nearly 117 (~120 to 237) for every Yellow match that is made.

Blue – This needs to be at least level 4 so that it can target all types of enemy tiles. Level 5 makes the countdown to return go from 4 to 3. Argument could be made that this is beneficial enough to push it up to max, but I plan on trying to match that tile as quick as possible, and thus never making it to 3 turns, let alone 4.

Purple – Gets the benefit of not needing Blue maxed. Can’t max this ability due to needing the levels of the other abilities increased to maximize falcon’s usability.

[strong]GSBW 5/3/5[/strong]
Green – Expensive, but at max level will do 3336 to each enemy (for a max total of 10,008) + tile damage to the target.

Red – The difference between level 3 and level 5 is a +3 ap cost, but goes from destroying 12 tiles to destroying 27 tiles. Argument could be made to take one from Green and bump this to 4(+1 AP cost but now destroys 18 tiles), but I prefer other Red abilities that are out there.

Purple – Green battery to help feed her Green ability. Need this maxed to help utilize her best ability sooner.

[strong]Hulk 5/3/5[/strong]
Green – Gains benefit from not so great Red ability. Does do 1023 damage at max plus destroys (at bare minimum) 13 tiles and up to 23 tiles for added damage.

Red – Not a fan of this ability. Yes it does a good amount of damage(2492 base + 298 per Green AP for a max of 8452), but that is all to one target, and if there are 10 Green on the board, your allies take 30% of that damage. Not sure I want my team taking anywhere between 748 to 2536 damage just to hit one guy on the other team. Bare minimum here for that reason.

[strong]Black[/strong] – This is a must to get to max. Will help feed Green abilities(his own or others) merely by taking damage.

[strong]Human Torch 5/5/3[/strong]
Red – Essentially 2891 damage for 6 Red AP. Hard to beat.

[strong]Black[/strong] – Max level creates 8 x 192 strike tiles. That’s 1536 damage PER DAMAGE SOURCE. This is another non-negotiable.

Green – Good amount of damage, but requires 10 Green before it becomes really effective(5 to cast, 5 left to do 1000 damage on the first round.) Argument could be made to level this over Red. I’m ok with it being around 160 points of damage per Green AP over 231. I believe there are better Greens out there and would rarely if ever use this ability, so gets the short stick.

[strong]Ldaken 5/4/4[/strong]
Purple – This is his main ability. Max it out for two strike tiles.

[strong]Black[/strong] – The passive healing is secondary in my list of priorities. I originally had this at 3, but gets the benefit of an extra level due to Blue not getting a lot of benefit from it.

Blue – Ldaken’s new ability. Originally had at 5, as I’m not all that concerned with healing… but the difference between 4 and 5 is a total of 308 damage at max level. Better to increase the heal % than have the minimal increase in damage.

[strong]mThor 3/5/5[/strong]

Red - You get three Yellow tiles regardless of level. I calculate the difference in level 3 damage and level 5 Damage to be about 650 points. With other members of your team still alive, you probably wouldn't be using his Red ability, regardless of the level.

Yellow - Decent Damage, but the major benefit is the placing of Green tiles to help feed his Green ability.

Green - His best ability. 7708 damage at full strength.

[strong]Psylock 4/5/4[/strong]
Red – Probably so better Red abilities out there, but taking one from [strong]Black[/strong] increases the strength of the strike tile substantially and worth taking the one from there to increase the strike tile by ~ 117 (that’s per damage source)

Blue – Her best ability. It can cripple the enemy team and load up your AP pool for several abilities to be used. Taking this one to 5 so that the countdown timer is 2, and have a better chance of going off. Take one level from both Red and [strong]Black[/strong] so that you don’t cripple either of those abilities.
[strong]
Black[/strong] – At 4, attack tiles are maxed. Going to 5 only increases the initial damage by 300 per casting, and worth leaving at 4 so that Red still gets the use of the full strength strike tile.

[strong]Pushisher 3/5/5[/strong]
[strong]
Black[/strong] – I initially had this at 5, due to the description at 5 saying that it would fire of the attack tile every turn, but it was either wrong or changed, and now fires it off every 2 turns… making it less appealing imo.

Green – His best ability. At max, he creates three strike tiles that are 104 strength each. That’s 312 extra damage per source for only 8 Green. Non-negotiable.

Red – I like other Reds abilities better for damage, but this one has a nice side function of being able to instantly down a target that is below 40% of their health. This can be huge when taking down a tank.

[strong]pWolvie 3/5/5[/strong]

Green – Damage is the same at level 3 as level 5. Difference is in the number of strike tiles created.. but for both teams. I don’t like that allies are put on Green(meaning hindering either your ability to match Green or losing potential strike tiles) while enemy tiles are Purple(which is a lesser color and less likely to get matched). Using this ability can actually harm you more than help you if not handled with care.

Red – High cost, but one of the better Red abilities in the game. It is rather situational, as it will rely on his emblem on the tiles. Also creates strike tiles for both teams, but unlike his Green, the opposing teams strike tiles are half of that of your own.

Yellow – I usually tend not to care for healing abilities, but maxing this one out immediately makes him heal every turn for 371… otherwise, you are only getting 371 if there are 10 Yellow tiles on the board(and ~ 100 points if there are fewer than 10 tiles… if you take this ability up to 4).

[strong]Ragnarok 5/5[/strong] – No Brainer, two ability character with no benefit to not maxing both.

[strong] Red Hood 5/5/3[/strong]

Yellow – Need specific AP for the upcoming turn? Or got potentially game ending countdown tiles about to run out? This is perfect for either. Going up to level 5 even allows the current turn to not end. Potential game changer.

Blue – Stealing from opponents AP and adding to your own? Yes please. Go to 5 to steal from all colors. You are guaranteed to be able to steal one color each round. Potentially being able to steal one from all 6 colors.
[strong]
Black[/strong] – I don’t use countdown tiles that much. And when I do, I definitely don’t have more than three out there at a given time. And I’m already doing what I can to minimize the counts to those tiles with my builds.
• For the 1* event - even if you dont have a full 3 1* characters still try looking for some match ups. I have had several matchups this point with the opponent having 1 lvl50 IM35, or 2 mid-level storm+BW and nothing else. And since alot of people dont like Hood (I dont understand why - holy **** that blue) I think a lot of people are just tanking. Might be easier than you expect if you skip a couple and look for some good targets!

Events like this are why I'm glad I'm a pack rat and kept all of my 1* characters.

Except Yelena.

Screw her. icon_lol.gif
• I've only played about 4 matches in the 1* so far. Logged on and had gotten about 75 points just from other people losing to me icon_lol.gif I only have four maxed 1*'s, so I'm running BW, Storm and IM. With Juggernaut in the sidelines in case somebody gets hurt too bad and needs to sit out. So far, so good.
• How are we all doing in the simulator?

So far in the 2.5 day events I thought I was gonna be top 5 for both but got a top 10 and a top 5.

Hopefully gonna get top 5 for both this time around!

For those of you who finish 1-2, dont know how you do it consistently but i give you mad props!
• I'm currently ranked 18th overall in the main bracket... is it bad that I'd rather have the 76-100(3 oBW covers) award instead of anything higher?

@kermitk That's a good point. There are definitely a decent number of people out there who don't have full teams. Really easy targets, especially with BW.

@pumkin Yeah, I'm experiencing pretty much the same thing. :p I think I have a net profit of about 100 points on defense so far. (Make that 136. I just got another defensive win while I was writing this, lol.) There's a reason I tend to avoid teams that are running juggernaut. . .

I kinda screwed myself over in The Simulator by joining really early. It's taking a lot of grinding to stay competitive, and a lot of the time I would have spent on the event went into putting this alliance together instead. I'll be satisfied if I can nab the 3 OBW covers as well. Doing ok in the subevents. I have a lot of time tonight so I should be able to get top 10 or top 5. I'm kinda curious if 3* Captain will be viable, though, given that the 2* version is a little meh.

I like Cap, so I hope it will be as well, but I'm not holding my breath because it looks like the same guy in a new hat.

Unless his Red ability gets a large damage boost because of the higher level cap, he'll probably be the same under-used specialist he is now, useful in goon fights but not great in tourneys. His Blue stun probably won't change at all, and his Yellow doesn't need to get stronger protect tiles, 4x150 at max power is plenty as it is.
• Enjoying the discussion and sharing of game tips.

Currently first place in my main bracket with plenty of grinding to go. Usually people get a lot of points late in the event due to the rubber banding effect so it's really hard to judge. If possible you want to clear a fresh round in the last few hours of the sub event to maximize the benefit of rubber banding. Easier said than done in the 10 day events with sub events that end at varying times.

For newer players who need the covers, getting 3 OBW would be a fine outcome from this event. She's an amazing 2 star hero thanks to the sustain she offers. Allows for pretty much endless play if you can avoid complete wipes and don't mind healing by replaying prologue missions.

New players should read this guide: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3939

All kinds of great information there for cover builds, team compositions, and how to transition to better teams.

Also new players shouldn't skip the lightning rounds. While it's really hard to get the good rewards without a highly leveled featured hero, it's quite easy to get around 1000 ISO and a cover token just from the seed teams. As a Steam player I always leave my game running so even if I'm not around the lightning round will load with the lower level seed teams for me to beat at my leisure.
