LazyCap is actually a tiny bit different skill-wise than current cap. the blue skill changed to not only return AP when the countdown timer goes off, but also place a protect tile. Not a huge change, and not sure how it scales at this point, but It's something0

Hi all!!
I live in Spain and i work in a electrical company. Is difficult for me finish the tournaments well because here the time is 5:00 am or pm. Wake up to 4:00 am is hard when you dont work...xD
But dont worry my friends i try it. Today almost get rank 10. I was 11.
I hope new options whit alliances. I would like give resources to us. I have +150.000 iso, 90 normal covers and 40 heroic.
Some day...
Well, sorry whit my english but it doesnt my main language.0 -
You should be ok. I'm not real bothered by others not being able to be around at the end of an event for that final push. But I can only speak for myself.
The way I see it, without an alliance, I would already be out the 10,000 iso + 175 hp + hood cover that I've recieved in less than a week.0 -
Agreed Sweenz, I think that we are doing really well with the type of players we have. Not too hard core , but godo enough to gain some really spectacular rewards. There isnt much of a difference in placing 25th over placing 3rd anyway (for alliances), so unless we think we are one of the top 40 players in the game, we probably arent going to get those top couple alliance rewards (but we can try!)
Looking forward to getting that lazycap cover so I can tromp through all the locked nodes in the next couple events0 -
Oof, this round is going to be a tough one for me. time to get my tank on!
Also, do you guys think we should focus on certain events all together, try to split our efforts between different events (some use the thor event to tank, others to progress, swap on other events/PVE event, etc), or should we just keep doing whatever we are doing individually and reaping the benefits of simply having a big, active alliance?
Personally I think the third option is working pretty well for us right now, but I think it would be fun if we all picked a particular event (giving ourselves a couple days notice to tank in preparation) and all went balls to the wall (or ovaries to the wall for our female members!) to see how high we could place as a group.0 -
I dunno, split focus = wider range of rewards, and I'm very much in favour of more free stuff. Our lack of focus hasn't turned into a lack of results, so whatever we're doing, it's working.
This LazyThor tourney could be tough (don't have him yet, and I seem to be fighting above my weight class now, so to speak)0 -
Yeah, it looks like the majority (if not all) of the main events are going to have alliance rewards from now on. That's pretty good news for us, but focus might become an issue later. Right now, I'd say we're rocking along quite nicely, though things may get tougher now that alliances are getting fairly lucrative and everyone's going to want to jump on board. I agree that the way things are structured so far, finishing top 50 for most events is almost as good as finishing top 10, and for some events, there isn't even a difference between the two! So for now, a "do your own thing" or "split focus" attitude should serve us pretty well.
I'd say, keep an eye on the reward structure and our current alliance ranking for the event. Look for "the bubble", i.e., the cut-off for special rewards: Heroic tokens, rare covers, new covers, etc. If we're well above the bubble, then we just need to keep a reasonable stream of participation going for that event. If we're close to the bubble, either under it or over it, then we'll want to make a concerted effort to get us into the sweet spot. If we're far below the bubble, then we probably have an issue with the event, and we should talk about whether it's worth redoubling our efforts at the risk of still falling short and hurting our efforts elsewhere, or if it's better to call it a lost cause and focus one events we're performing well in. I'll be keeping tabs on stuff and posting updates as they come up, but I'm not going to ask anyone to bang their head against the wall if they're just not equipped for a particular event. Maybe, if we agree on it as a group, we could try to really blast an event just for the prestige of a top 10 finish sometime, but right now I think we've got enough going on as is.
I think for the current round of events I'm going to hold off for another 12 hours or so and then start hitting them hard. Unfortunately, I don't have either Black Panther or lazyThor, so I'm a little bit hamstrung for these ones. I need the late joiners bracket/rubber-banding points to put up competitive figures.0 -
Usually if there's a PVP and PVE thing going on at the same time, I'll focus on the PVE. That's what I'm doing now, focusing on the Simulator Basics. I don't have enough good chars, health packs and boosts to focus on both. The only time I'll then hop into the PVP is when my main chars are out for the count and healing up. Then I'll just play some PVP with my C team and hope I win a match or two.0

I fortunately am 2/2/3 with lazy thor(buffed to level 95 for the event)... the last lazy thor even I placed #1 overall and ended up with three psylock covers and xWolvie... so if there is an event that I can place high in, its this one. Going to hit it hard today.
Luckily, I don't use lazy thor for the PvE event, so I can hit both. Trying to figure out when to start in on PVE tho. Not real impressed with the heroic pulls last round (5 heroic tokens... all came back wolvie when I already have him maxed out )0 -
Ugh, I have had the same issue with Heroic tokens - nothing but damn 2*wolvies which I have had max covered for a while (but not max leveled - meh).
I agree with the stated above regarding us doing well so far and to just keep it up the way we are going. I also dont have LazyThor or BP so I am goign tohave a rough time with this thor event. I havent entered yet, but will be in the next 12 hours or so to try and rock up to 200 or so. I am also having some trouble with hard-mode simulator this round - died twice to the 2nd node at this point. Ill be doubling up my efforts on easy-mode though0 -
Just started the hard.
I've not done any of the normal nodes yet. But did two of the BP one's twice, and am already sitting at #5 with over 12000 points.
Those special nodes are very helpful if you want an easier time on these events.0 -
Yuuuup, they sure are! They dont scale as highly as the others since fewer people can run them, and they give more points for the same rubberbanding reason! WAY more bang for your buck, even if you only have a single cover of the required guys, they are buffing them so much it doesnt matter. Last round my level 28 Doom was buffed to 117! I didnt mind the 155 damage attack tiles at all
Thats why I am so excited by our current alliance as well. Currently some of us have the required guys, some of us dont. I know that our of the 4 rounds, I only have Doom for the required characters. But since we will ALL be getting at least 1 LazyCap cover from the alliance rewards, and they tend to put focus on new characters when they pick thier "required character" nodes, we will be able to snowball our way to success in the next upcoming events as well! And all that extra HP is just crazy - I mean hell, I for the first time have 2 open roster spots and no one to put there!0 -
Just hit 75k for the simulator.
Doing the char-specific missions is the way to go in these, if you didn't already know. My strat is to do the hard missions early, to get the guaranteed points before they become impossible.
I also agree that we're doing really well so far. I'm ecstatic about the alliance rewards I've gotten to this point.0 -
I don't have BP, so I'm not doing so hot this round of Sim Basics First round I got 2nd in Hard mode and was thrilled about that. This round I'm only 25. Ah, well. I keep plugging away. Every little point helps.0
-
This round is hard for me. Besides a lot of assignments are due in my classes, I just don't have the covers to help in battles. I lose Magneto or Storm and my team suffers, especially when they aren't buffed to begin with. Slowly I am building up my back us though. I am trying to stay in the range to get the 3 OBW covers. I am not impressed with LazyCap right now, and having OBW maxxed would help at my build level0
-
Woohoo, looks like with the new Hood event ALL of us will be getting BP covers soon! Add on tot hat we are all getting Cap covers and we will all have about half of the new covers they seem to love to boost so often!
Hood event is going to have a lot of competition though, so play it smart! A lot of people are excited about those hood covers.
Unrelated note, just made my big push in the Lord of Thunder event, got myself intot he top 10 for my bracket, sitting at around 450 points. I will be getting home about 2 hours before event ends, so depending on how hard I get hit during work today I might end up with 500-600 points in it. Enough to get myself a full 3 Patch covers! That will make him my 2nd more covered 3* - and a GREAT guy to level up!!!!0 -
Was able to push myself up to 700 points in lord of thunder event. Placing me #3 overall. but 100 points out from the next highest. Decided to shield rather than risk it. Locked in.
I won't be much help in the red hood event. Powered up, he's only level 30 for me. I may make a small run at it at the end if I've got the pve event locked up.0 -
I'm at a similar spot in Lord of Thunder as you Sweenz. Shielded at 745 points and should get a top 5 spot easy. I'd try for first but clintman is in my bracket and there's no way I'll beat him. I can win matches no problem with Punisher, OBW, and buffed lazythor but my team is easy pickings for those at the top if not shielded. There were times that I won and still lost points since two different people attacked me while I was playing my match. Looks like we'll all get a nice chunk of ISO and a patch cover from the alliance awards too which is great.
I noticed the new hood event has BP covers for rewards. Too late for the current event but hopefully we do well enough that everyone can get at least one cover. He seems to be the featured hero in a lot of PVE stages lately and even 1 cover would open them up for everyone.
Currently 11th and 13th in the sub events but will make a run later tonight an hopefully get at least top 5 in each. Currently 4th in my main bracket but the end time for this one isn't lining up great for me. Hope I can stay top 10 but top 50 would be good enough. For anyone who's struggling due to missing covers, we'll get a lazycap from alliance awards and he'll be featured in the next big event for sure.0 -
Yay, first Patch covers! Now I'm only missing 4 characters - 5 if you include the new Cap.0
-
Very nice! Got my patch up to 41 - he is now my 2nd highest level 3* (After a level 51 cover capped Hood). Really starting to come together - I have right around 3-6 covers for most of my 3*s now. Not enough for them to be viable when unbuffed, but high enough to REALLY help out when they are required a buffed! Also that much closer to being ready to play in the big leagues
so what covers are you guys missing/want the most? I am missing GSBW, BP (not for long!), Psylocke, LazyThor, and I think that's it. The rest I have at least 1 cover in. The covers I want to see the most, though, are CStorm blue (I have her at 5/3/5 right now cause thats all Ive ever gotten and wanted her to have more levels), OBW Blue and Black (Have her at 3/3/2 right now - all Ive ever gotten), and a couple thor Green (5/5/3, I want to respec him, but damn I just cant find those green covers!). Meanwhile I have sold enough 2* Wolvie covers to max cover a 2nd copy!
For 3*s I want absolutely any cover I can get0
