Ugh, server issues are crazy right now. No one is having thier Heavy Metal scores count at all. If you see this, make sure you check the topic on general boards before entering that event, as it may be wasted effort until the server issues are fixed.

The situation is getting worse every time I check. First it was just "connection issues" every now and then. Then it couldn't find the server at all. Now it can't connect to Facebook to log me in. And when the events tab loads, it says "No events." And apparently there was a patch released today, but I never got it and it's not prompting me to update on the Play store. Methinks whoever gave the go on this patch that borked everything up is getting reamed about now.

Alright, so with all the recent server issues, I am not counting the Heavy Metal event as having the 300 minimum requirement. that requirement, however, begins with the new Daken event that just opened up. Remember - 300 is a minimum, if you can get more, go for it! If we all get 300 we will NOT crack the top 100, but I feel that if our lowest members are at 300 at least, we have a fighting chance. I will continue to work on filling out the roster before the end of the event.

for this event we may have a tough time. Daken covers are not abundant in our group and with Lazythor rewards plus the event happening on a weekend, the competition is going to be fierce. If we REALLY want to crack top 100 on this one we are going to have to push harder than normal. That means that we are going to want everyone to really do thier best and put up some great scores. 300 points is VERY easy to do in 2.5 days. I played for 30 min this morning when it opened and already got to 250 points.

If you dont think you will be making a serious push for the top 50 prizes, enter as soon as you can and start building your score for the alliance.
If you regularly get top 50 prizes, I am not concerned about your performance

If you have concerns let me know. What do you guys think you will be aiming for for a final score in this one? I am thinking I will be able to make it to the 700s or so.

8 hours left on the Heavy Metal event. That's plenty of time to get 300 points. I generally join events a day after they start. The bracket I get in then seems easier. I am good for 300 points; that is always my goal on PvP events. My problem is after 300, I face stiff competition, especially since a majority of 3 stars, I don't have. Also, I am sitting on 200 hero points. I need more slots and am unfamiliar with the mindset of shielding.

didnt realize Heavy Metal was still going on. I thought that ended, my bad. Yes, people - get to 300 for Heavy Metal. If you dont, you can expect to hear from me personally to discuss why you couldnt hit it.

Ive personally never shielded - I just fight my way up and keep my MMR lowish. Although with the whole "tanking doesn work" change, who knows how long that will work now. I also will just put up Hulk/Thor/OBW as a defensive team when I am done and I generally win as many defensive battles as I lose. It does require being online at the event end though if I want a top 50 placement. I have only ever used HP for cover spots - I am up to 32 now, almost at 33. Its very nice to have the extra spots, it helps a lot, even if most of my 3*s are between level 15 and 30. Only my Hulk is at a usable level (89)

I agree with you Menious on the placement of brackets and joining later - it does make it easier to get that top 50 spot. However with all the server issues I am not sure that will happen this event. Feel free to wait, though. Plus, with the rewards for this one I am not positive I will get top 50 with the stiff competition, so I joined super early to try and earn as many alliance points as I can. If I cant be sure to get one personally, why not get one as the group, right?

Alright, so we had 16 of the 17 members score at least 300 - very good job. I talked to the person who scored lower - they are still new and didnt quite understand so I am giving them one more shot at it before filling his spot with someone else. I am hoping to have all roster spots filled by tomorrow, so we should see how a full 20 scoring a minimum of 300. We can adjust our minimum after that.


Also as a notice - I will be going on vacation during memorial day weekend. I will be gone from May 22-26th.

I know a lot of US players will be on vacations during this upcoming weekend so I will not be nagging people about their scores on this PVE and whatever PVP comes up during that time period. I will be expecting all members to be hitting the minimum for this current Rags PVP event or face the boot. If you are going to be away and cant do it for whatever reason, message me now. This is your warning. We can get top 100 easily in this event if we try, so try!!!!

So I earned 6 Heroic Packs from season 1. I have to say, these 6 were better than my 10 pack. I got:

cMAgs - Red
mnMags - Blue
Moonstone - Red
Ares - Yellow
IM40 - Red
HT - Green

5 of them were used. I love it.

I am getting close to the cap on Ares and Moonstone. I know I asked but can't remember the build for Moonstone. Also would Ares be 3/5/5 like Thor?

Moonstone - 5/5/3 - her black is just not that good.

For Ares, I went 5/3/5. 3/5/5 or even 4/4/5 would all work too. You want 5 Yellow to bring the countdown tile down as far as it can go, but his other skills can be set however you want. I don't find his Red scales up in damage that much, so I went with Green instead. Depends on what you use more often.

For Ares, I went 4/4/5. His green is amazing, but there isn't much use out of dropping the cost from 6 to 5. You still need two matches to be able to use it, and then it drains the whole pool. For the red, I tend to try and keep him above 30% health, but for defensive purposes it might be good to have 5 red.

Anyway, I finished season 1 in 5th place overall and ended up with 3x heroic 10-packs. I was pretty excited to crack them. However, the results were less than stellar. Out of the 30 tokens, I got 4 *** heroes. In the 3rd 10-pack I redeemed I didn't get a single ***. It used to be a guaranteed *** per 10-pack. I guess they changed that, so beware if you are purchasing them yourself. Anyway, here's the list for the curious:

I agree with 4/4/5 for Ares, but for Moonstone I actually recommend 3/5/5. Moonstone was my highest leveled character for most of my early career and the thing that always jumped out is how tricky it can be to get her pink ability to do what you want it to. Yes, the black is bad, but her pink, which is a fairly bit better, gets much harder to use properly as you level it. Chances are you're going to be using her mostly for pve events, which is when she tends to get buffed. Because her ability works on a random tile, the more colours it can affect, the more likely it is that you're not going to swap the one you want. So if you keep it at 3 and you're facing down a team that creates countdown tiles across the spectrum, you can often find a tile to target where any result will be acceptable. You can also avoid having your plans to use the collapse damage foiled by a random blue or green special tile that showed up. I tend to find that this versatility is worth sacrificing the 18% extra collapse damage.

Notable example. Lieutenant's yellow countdown is high priority to destroy. He often comes paired with soldiers, grenadiers, or snipers, all of whom produce green countdown tiles. Keep those out of the mix and you can stop the healing more often.

Honestly though, it's not that big a decision. I rarely use moonstone any more. She's fine, but her red is overshadowed by a lot of characters, and her pink competes with the almighty OBW.

Hey guys, so everyone should be back from thier vacations today (or at least pretty soon). I expect to see you all hitting your 300 points in this pvp. With it during memorial day we may be able to actually pull out a pretty easy top 100 finish if we all do it. It has less than 24 hours left and with about 2/3 of us having even started it we are in the low 100s. I havent even made a push yet, sitting at only around 300 like most of the rest of us. I plan on pushing up to about 600 or so tonight and trying to break 700 before it ends tomorrow morning. I hope to be only in the middle of our alliance in terms of scores


Also, with the results recently from all of us hitting the 300 minimum I think I will be increasing that minimum to 400 starting with the next event. Its not too much more, but may help push us over. We have too many people just barely hitting the minimum as is and with more and more alliances having 20/20, we need to really be able to score well in order to place.

Because of the vacation and lack of Daken covers, this PVE is pretty much shot for us getting Sentry, but that was expected going into it. Keep in mind, though, that once the next PVE starts I will be monitoring who is and isnt performing up to snuff. I cant really set a minimum for PVE content since the scores change so much, but if you want to know how well you are doing, compare your score against the rest of the alliance. If you have half the score of our median players then there is a problem.
