Major kudos for the idea of the limerick contest, by the way. I love those kind of community initiatives.
Made a small late push in the Thor event to get that 50 HP progression reward, so we're sitting pretty there in the Alliance ranking. It'd be nice if I stayed in the top 25 in the personal rankings too, I don't need the Patch (here's to hoping intra-Alliance cover trading/gifting will be implemented one day), but the HP would be nice (so no shields for me this time around). Hopefully I'll find some time this weekend to put some effort into the Hood event, though, those 3 Panther covers would be sweet... although staying in the top 10 (ideally top 2, even though I have 3 yellow IW covers already) in my Simulator rankings takes priority.
I'll probably call it a night relatively early so I can get up at 4 am EU time for a final Simulator lap in the final hour of the current sub-events. Yeah, it's totally healthy behavior for an adult to adjust his sleep schedule to a video game. Damn digital crack.0 -
Greetings all,
Just wanted to say hello and thanks for the invitation. I look forward to fighting the chaos of the match 3 mechanic. Errr, let's see: Make that fighting FOR the Chaos of the match 3....

It increases your overall effectiveness in just about any event, because L50 is usually enough to get them to a somewhat useable level after event-dependent buffs. Makes heroics a lot more manageable.
I've been doing this since my early days and highly recommend it, although if you don't have time to tank lightning rounds you may be better served leveling up 2 powerful characters so that you can do well in all the pvp events.
I'll +1 this as well.
Possessing enough of a decently leveled roster to possess A and B 95-100ish 3*** teams, a C 85 2** team, and some 50-60 benchwarmers to be called upon when needed works wonders in PvE events. This is doubly useful for swapping out injured team members to minimize personal scaling issues.
That being said, many of the recent changes are pushing players towards the 141 route to remain competitive in PvP tourneys. With ISO flowing much more freely than before, more players are leveling their rosters higher, which is placing pressure on everyone else to level up to keep up with the crowd. The scores needed to place top 5 are gradually increasing and soon will be out of the reach completely of many 2** rosters, perhaps in another month's time.0 -
Hello all. New member just wanted to check in. Played a little of the good event today but having only two covers for him is putting me against some stuff competition. Also played lots of the simulator. Sitting at #53 overall. Debating which 3* to attempt to level and pair with BP/doom & Hulk. Likely will rotate BP and doom due to their defense weakness when together in pvp. My options are Psylocke's, classic mags and BP grey suit. Leaning Mags. Thoughts?0

Mags, hands down. Up there with Patch as one of the best offensive weapons in the game, and goes really well with a lot of characters. I'd go Mags/BP/required character most of the time, maybe rotate in Doom for BP (although he doesn't pair nearly as well with Mags since you want to use Mags' blue, making it harder to get Doom's black off). If you find you're getting hit a lot, swap in Hulk for Mags just before you finish playing and that should reduce the number of times you get attacked significantly.
I like Psylocke a lot, but her best power is black, which makes it hard to pair her with either Doom or BP, who want to gobble up all the black they can muster.
I really don't get all the love for BWGS. I keep trying to play her, but whenever I do...she's...just...sooo...slooooowwwww.0 -

C mags makes a lot of sense I think. If you have magneto and doom leveled you have a good pair for lightning rounds and villain tournaments. Magneto is also almost always useful in PvE. The only downside is the upcoming nerf.
Psylocke will compete for black with BP and Doom and you will always want to use their black first anyway. Grey suit BW is good, especially if you have hulk tank green for her. If you get hulk leveled that might be all the defense you need.0 -
Hi all I was wondering if there was a slot available in your alliance as id like to join. Im new to the forums (here) and your alliance seems pretty cool to be in with. Im from the UK I enjoy the game and love to interact and get involved. Let us know thanks in advance. DF. Ps ive been playing for over a month.0

I think it is an interesting subject to either distribute to each character or level up your strong players. I see from many bigger groups and ours that many level their 3 star or 2 stars characters up to 50 or 100 with their mags maxed. In PVP, it does seem like I see more 141's. Does that mean some players are hording their isos to distribute at a later time?
I like the idea of rotating your characters (Team A + during the tourneys which didn't cross my mind (Need to do more). For myself I only have one character in Pun at 102 and good collection of 2 stars maxed. I'm guilty of maxing my 2 stars, but has helped me in the simulator. My strategy in simulator so far is to work around the outside (most points) then inside. I hope to be more efficient and have a better strategy with this group taking account your opinions. With that being said, the new tournament's main character is the hood. My hood is level 28 which is 4/0/2. The blue has been eluding me. Now the question is should I level or how far should I level my hood. I have about 30k which I can level up to 64.0 -

Mags hands down. He's my go to guy if he's available. He has no week covers. Some may say 5/3/5 but I have him at 5/5/3 because his red is so spamable you can usually lock down the opponent and they'll never see a turn. I might respec him to 5/3/5 because it is a faster build, but for now I'm having fun at 5/5/30 -

We should trade! Mine is 5/3/5 and I've been thinking about respec'ing him to 5/5/3, but am too lazy to slog through two lightning rounds to get it done.0 -

I think I can field this one.
In regard to PvP, concentrations of 2-3 characters are seen at maximum level (141s) because those are the only characters that opponents will see. Players seeing opponent rosters of full 141s in PvP will almost always skip them (outside of others with similar rosters). 85's have little chance to beat 141s, and even if they do, the 141s can turn right around and squash the 85s without so much as blinking an eyelash. Thus, teams of 141s only have other teams of 141s to compete against realistically at the moment, and this ensures them high placement in every PvP event, which generates significant rewards every 2.5 days for these players.
In regard to PvE, diversity is essential for success. Buffed 2**s at maximum level can be quite godly in power (see: Ares in this version of the Simulator), so possessing a full roster of 2**s at 50 and higher is highly beneficial. There will always be buffed 2** heroes to support the masses who do not own fully covered/leveled 3*** characters.
In regard to Simulator strategy, I'd say that the current advisable tactic is to try to earn as many points as possible in as few nodes as possible to limit personal scaling. Nothing can mitigate community scaling, which will always be increasing over time. Essential nodes always pay out the most points per fight in exchange for the required character to play them. Right now, The essential nodes on easy cap out at 2975, and on hard at 5950. Easy points for minimal effort (assuming you possess a Modern Thor cover).
In regard to Hood, don't invest any more ISO into him. Hood's blue is what makes him useful. Without any blue covers at all, your 4/0/2 isn't really any better than the loaner one granted by the tourney.0 -
Hey everyone... finally checking in. Nice to see our alliance has filled out since I joined a week ago. Been slammed with work the last few days, but of course found time for MPQ, I mean that's almost as important as collecting a pay check, right? I was able to join Unholy with a hour left, landed in the Top 5. I checked right before the end of the event and our alliance was in 13th. Not bad. How'd everyone else fare?0

You have a nicer build for defense! His purple goes off and it's 8k dmg potentially. The red is more useful on offense if you want to lock the opponent from seeing many turns. Plays very well with his blue.0 -

Had a busy weekend, but somehow managed to snag top 5 in my late Unholy bracket with only 600 points, which was nice. I've lost a bit of ground in The Simulator due to not playing much this weekend, but I've managed to time my last refresh just right at an hour before event end, so that will probably be enough to push me back into the top 2 (don't care too much about those heroic tokens). Kind of wondering what to do with that IW cover if I do, though, since I already have her at 3 yellow. I'll probably end up using it anyway, to increase her level cap and because I can always respec it later... Those 1000 iso don't seem like that big of a deal.
And yay. Black Hulk cover as an alliance reward for Fearless Defenders! Don't let me down, gang (not that you have so far... Pleased as punch with this alliance), my unfortunate 5/1/2 Hulk needs some feeding.0 -
Managed to get 2nd in unholy tournement with around 840pts. Pushed Sunday morning European time, when all US/Europe was still sleeping and shielded for 24hours...
I will do my best for the black Hulk, I am also still missing one.
Another question: Does anybody stronlgy use Black Panther? I still have quite some ISO/HP and am wondering whether I should level him next (mainly due to black AoE, blue and yellow seem not too strong, but there are not too many offensive alternatives on these colors). If so, which characters are you playing with him?
Thanks for your views0 -
Personally I don't really use BP at all. He has a nice amount of HP and his black is great, but his other two abilities are a bit meh. Plus, since my two high-leveled mainstays are Punisher and Spidey, I don't really have room for a black/yellow/blue character in my trio. I think that upcoming gold Daken could be an interesting addition for me, though.
Back to BP, I think he would probably combine well with Lazy Thor and classic Magneto. That way you'd have big damage abilities in all colours of the rainbow, and two characters with oodles of hit points.0 -
My initial idea was to use him together with Patch/Spiderman. BP could tank blue, black and eventually yellow. Additionally I think it would be quite fun to drop Berserker Rage, followed by BP black...
additionally I think they might be quite strong on defense as it is not so easy to play around all colors...
Lazy Thor would be an alternative but I am still missing too many covers (currently only 3G). Daken and the new guy will certainly also be interesting, but it will still take quite some time to get the covers...luckily the ISO inflow is currently quite good in PVE....0 -
Welcome everyone ... Looks like we're a lock on some Captain America covers.
I just manage to get to 250,000 points for the 8000 ISO this morning, but it was a chore. Anyone else manage to get there?0 -
Couldn't play much the first round of the simulator, and I don't think I've got a shot at the 8000 ISO at this point. The entire top 10 in my main bracket are over 250,000 though.
Finished #2 in unholy outlaw in the 700s. Wish I had a bit more time at the end, #1 was just over 800.0 -
I got to 250K in simulator also, but I was about 2k off the top 50 overall. I was ranked 52 when I left 30 minutes before simulator ended, bummed about that. I think the top 5 had about 270k. Definitely had to put some work to get my 8k isos. Last simulator or hulk, I managed to get 300k to get some pun covers. I tried to finish both simulator at top 10. Overall I think we all did a great job. I think in each simulator and overall we were ranked about top 15 - 20.
In unholy outlaw only got to 500, but at least finished top 50. Got busy at work tried to scramble last few hours. Fearless Defenders looks promising. My hunk is 5/2/1. Hope we can get that black cover. Excellent job everyone!0
