Are you looking for a 20 person alliance comprised of hardcore players?
Do you have a roster full of maxed characters?
Do you want to win every event?
Will you put in as much work and hero points as necessary?
If so, Chaos League is not for you!
Chaos League was founded on the principle of liking your alliance members first and winning events second. We like to discuss strategy and love optimizing, whether it be roster construction, PvE strategy, whatever. We also believe in contributing to the community here; projects such as the recruit token probability sheet and the character rankings series were both started by Chaos League members. We've got some other ideas in the works as well, including some ambitious projects we could use some help with!
Our members are a mix of casual and hardcore -- we have players who play for hours a day and contend for #1 in most PvP events, but we're also ok with people who want to take it easy once in a while. We've consistently finished in the top 50 for PvP events and top 100 for PvE events, and we're looking for one more person who fits in with our philosophy. We have all our slots open and will be giving preference to established active forumites.
So, if you'd like to be part of an alliance with people who could spend all day talking about MPQ...
If you want to help figure out the best strategies as the game changes...
If you've got ideas for things you'd like to gather data on and figure out how they work...
If you want to do well enough to win covers and won't freak out if you're not #1...
And ESPECIALLY if you're one of the many people who want to join a strong alliance, but also want to play with casual friends (we've got a couple of those in our alliance too)...
Drop me a PM today!
Edit: we are once again full!

I'm bumping you because I like your style. It resembles that of Misfit Right In. If I didn't already have an alliance, I'd join yours. Goodluck, brother!0

Did not see any contact info in your profile. I'm new to the forums but not the game. Very interested in applying to Chaos League. I play serious when I play, but I also have a job that might limit me to a match or two just to keep the consecutive day streak going sometimes and don't want a group that's going to hang me for that. Please let me know what I need to do.0

are you guys still recruiting?0
-
Thanks everyone for your interest! Our open slot has been filled, but if you think you'd be a good fit for us and are willing to pay for your slot, we'd love to have you.0
-
Hey I saw that you guys still have some opeings I wo like to be one of your newest members have a maxed ironman Model 40 who is my main card, I also have a level 50 of the new thor modern as well as plenty of other cards.
I use line chat often as im in an alliance in marvel war of heroes. line chat under the name clamhandsbr. I would like to be added and should give a bost to your alliance. At posting now im at rank 37 overall for simulatio0 -
Oops.... apparently I didn't get the memo about the recruiting thread after I even proposed the idea to Mischief...
/facepalm
Sorry about that, Mischief.
Anyways.... for my error, I've coughed up for the next alliance slot.
So, Chaos League is open for recruiting once more. Accepted applicants will need to purchase the next slot for alliance expansion (as sadly this appears the be way the game is heading), currently at 800 HP as of this posting.
Carry on, everyone!0 -
I've gone and joined this group. Howdy.0

Happy to be one of yours since tonight, guys0

Hello, everyone!
Apparently, this alliance is growing by leaps and bounds.
Glad to see the new faces, and um.... someone want to key in the clueless here what is going on behind the scenes?0 -
Hello how can I join this alliance? I am a daily player.
Roster Top 5
Iron Man-101
Thor Modern-85
Ares-85
Wolverine-85
Hulk-83
I am looking for an alliance that won't fall apart. I haven't been lucky in that department. Seems like people keep jumping and eventually the alliance dwindles. Thanks0 -

Basically I've been trawling the "single player looking for alliance" thread and sending PMs to folks with pretty good rosters and/or event results, asking them to pay for the next slot. So far so good!
I haven't been keeping track of this thread, though, so I assume there are others who haven't either. Anyone have thoughts on how we should communicate with each other? Here are the things I've considered:
- use this thread (people may not be keeping track, contents are public)
- use this thread, asking people to subscribe so they get updates, with links to private google docs (need people's gmail addresses, need to keep the thread low-traffic)
- set up private forums (requires some work and expense, people have to keep track of two forums)
- facebook/google chat (need people's facebook accounts or email addresses)
- use this thread and PMs (you can only PM 5 people at a time)
I'd ask if anyone has a preference, but if you're reading this, you're not one of the people we need to solve for.0 -
New member, checking in! Happy to be on board.
As for communication, I think this thread is fine in general, and any deep dark horrible secrets can be done via PM, I guess.
To get some general discussion going, a strategy question: Patch, worth leveling, or not? On one hand, he regenerates like it's nobody's business, and those strike tiles he creates pack a mean punch. On the other, he really ups the hurt you're on the receiving end of as well, and if/when Spidey gets his nerf, it'll be much harder to keep that under control, I think. For reference, I currently have him at 3/5/5 cover-wise.
My current go-to squad is Punisher, Spidey and whatever character is buffed for a particular tourney, or OBW in No Holds Barred. As an alternative, I'm considering boosting The Hood (only missing a yellow and a blue cover for him for 5/5/3) as a replacement for OBW and some help in villain lightning rounds. Thoughts?0 -
Just found your league and joined. I have 25 slots filled . My name is husstler and would love to stick around with this group I am a daily player and usually rank in the top 20 on most challenges0

I'm not the end-all expert on the ultra-high end (Mischief and Nonce please feel free to chime in here), but Patch is worth leveling simply for the "scarecrow" effect alone. Seeing a decent Patch (100+) means that the attacker is likely going to suffer considerable damage to defeat him on your team.
I run a 3/5/5 Patch, and you mention, the regen is a plus. I chose 3 green to minimize the benefit of Berserker Rage to the opposing team. Although by doing this, the skill's benefit is minimized. Thus, 3/5/5 means that Patch is there for the "The Best There Is", which means that Patch needs to be tanking every color as much as possible. Tanking as many colors as possible means that this build needs to be prioritized to 141 to stay out in from of the other team members. If Patch is not attacking on his colors, then "The Best There Is" is going to perform weakly or possibly even zero damage if Patch attacks on no colors at all. Obviously, this would render Patch useless on a team.
So, yes, 3/5/5 Patch pretty much commits you to leveling him to 141 if you want to use him at all on teams.0 -
Agree with Lyrian, I think a decently leveled Patch (100+) is scary to a lot of folks. I actually really like BRage at 3 as it still provides very good strike tile damage (better than Punisher's, for example), and having 3 enemy strike tiles to deal with is usually not too bad; I can often match one and overwrite two with Magneto, which is my usual plan of attack. I almost never use Patch with Spidey; I find Spidey too slow and boring on offense.
My own Patch is only level 105, and my entire roster is basically built around him; I keep everyone leveled such that as long as nobody is buffed Patch always tanks red, yellow, and green (and he often ends up tanking purple or black as well, depending on the team composition). This has two purposes: one, it makes Best There Is do monster damage (typically 5k and sometimes 7k), and almost as importantly, it means Patch takes most of the damage, so it limits my need for healing, so I can play longer and faster (extremely useful for late night grinds to hit high progression rewards and the end of events).
All that being said, I'm not sure Patch is a good use of your iso in particular, because you already have a high level Punisher. Punisher plays well with generally everyone, but I don't really like him with Patch because their greens overlap so much. Instead, I'd consider leveling Hulk (stronger scarecrow effect on D, though you really need black covers), Hood (getting that fifth blue will be huge), and Magneto (same).0 -
Just wanted to say hi to everyone since I'm part of the group now. I have to say some (most)you have some pretty nice mags on your characters. I am going to work on them and hope I learn and grow from this group. With that being said I'm Jason or s0metimes. I game from the USA. Where is everyone from?0

Hi all,
I just recently joined the Alliance as well and am living in Switzerland.
I really like Patch and he is definitively worth leveling. In the past I used Punisher but now mostly rely on Patch - in my view he is definitively stronger and it is fun playing him ...
I am currently running 4/5/3 (level 128). I really like the 4 in green as it makes PVE games quicker (I use him mostly with Spiderman therefore I am not too concerned about the enemy strike tiles).
Probably I will go for a compromise 4/5/4 build in order to get at least some healing. But also 3/5/5 and 5/5/3 would be great....
My view is that Patch is strong in all cases, it just depends for what you are using him... If Spiderman should be nerfed I will definitively move to 3/5/5.
Hope this helps.0 -
Nice to see another Euro player in the group, I'm from the Netherlands myself. Although I have to admit I keep The Ladder-esque weird hours, so I'll probably often be on at the same time as US members as well.
I'm far too pleased with Punisher's performance to consider dropping him. I have him 5/3/5 because I feel his black ability is vastly underrated and, especially when combined with a stun character like Spidey that gives you more control over keeping those countdown tiles alive, that attack tile damage adds up quickly. Therefore I wouldn't mind having a character that overlaps his green a little, since I'm not focused on it in my play, and his red is relatively incidental anyway (although a godsend against those L230 PvE encounters).
Classic Mags is great, but I'm a bit wary of pumping too much ISO into a character that's next in line for the nerf bat (it's also why I keep Spidey at 90, where he more than does his job and plays nicely with OBW). Hulk is good too, but I have had the worst luck in getting black covers for him. It's been green all the way so far. With Hood I really need those last yellow and blue covers because they do indeed make a world of difference.
I do agree that Patch makes for a nice way to speed up matches, though, which is why I'm mainly considering him. I usually don't consider him a deterrent myself, but that's because I run Spidey. I usually collect blue and let an opponent with Patch get at least one Berserker Rage off, and then proceed to stunlock the enemy team and kill him quickly with his own strike tiles. But if you don't have a fully developed Spidey, I can imagine him being someone you'd rather skip. But he seems like a huge ISO investment for a character that I'm not too sure about.
I have to admit I'm pretty pleased with my current strategy of prioritizing having every character at at least L50 when possible over pumping all my ISO into a handful of characters, by the way. It increases your overall effectiveness in just about any event, because L50 is usually enough to get them to a somewhat useable level after event-dependent buffs. Makes heroics a lot more manageable.0 -

I've been doing this since my early days and highly recommend it, although if you don't have time to tank lightning rounds you may be better served leveling up 2 powerful characters so that you can do well in all the pvp events.0
