Crash of Titans Cap vs Cap

The vault has revealed its mysteries to us once again, showing Sam Wilson as the next 4* combatant. Who will he face? How do you think you'll do?

My two cents: I don't see how anybody who hasn't dumped HP into his red or had uncanny token luck has a chance against someone more dangerous than Bag-Man. That red is just not a knockout move with fewer than four covers, and his protect tiles won't do much good against a level 270 power.

Edit: It's Captain Marvel (Modern)! Enjoy getting your shields smashed, everyone.

Movie thematically: Ant-Man. Satisfies the "2-color" pattern people like finding, too.

I'll be very surprised if it's not Captain Marvel. My Sam is 5/3/2, so he may have it tough.

I threw ISO into Falcap to bring him to lvl 180, the 4* soft cap I use like lvl 120 with my 3*.

The token gods haven't been awful, as I have managed to have him at 5/3/2. That said he lacks punch without the red. I could level him further, but I don't think it would help.

Best case, would be to put him against himself and have a protect tile war. You can deny AP all you want, but with only a single damaging move which has a huge AP requirement and is dependent on yellow tile availability you are going to be hard pressed to win against anyone with a meaningful offense.

Captain Marvel would be a nightmare. She has an active red that destroys your protects in one shot with a low AP cost. If you do manage to hit her, you only speed that up and get stunned in the process.

We are getting to the point in the rotation where everyone except the biggest whales are going to be hard-pressed to win. Who puts HP into Falcap!?! Or the even worse Reed Richards.

I managed to get "lucky" with my legendary pulls, getting enough of Sammy covers to max cover him at 553. yeah, I would obviously love to get 5 red instead, but I'm not going to buy red covers just to respec. icon_lol.gif Now the question is whether I should dump iso on him to bring up his level.

And I agree that 3* marvel is a nightmare matchup against a sammy hiding behind his shields. So OF COURSE that will be our next opponent. icon_twisted.gif

They could be nice and use the 2* Captain/Ms Marvel. She still has Photonic Blast, but she doesn't generate her own AP at least.
We still haven't seen that 2* battle IceIX mentioned, and this might be the best time for it.

I have no red covers, that'll be a skip for me. No color overlap, but they certainly could throw a Loki in there

Captain Marvel makes sense. Shares two colors, has a power that ruins his main strategy, and most importantly, she also inherited a "Captain" hero name, after having a non-Captain hero identity.
Unrelated, this uncle Sam was my first 4 star.png , and right now, I only have him at two covers, so I won't try this challenge more than once this time.

Captain America 3* (they aren't getting along so swell in the comics).

After beating Thing, I'm 14 for 14! -checks Falcap, sees 2/2/0-

    Let's sing the doom song!

I would love it to be Steve Rogers, it fits the comic theme of how they are not on the best of terms, and they share colours, making it a clearer fight.

More like his only strategy. Not looking forward to this one. At all. And I've got 13 covers on him (not the right 13, but still... )
  • Even if I had an offensive captain, I think this one would suck. Unless you one shot Cpt. Marvel, you are just going to give her AP and that blows icon_e_sad.gif
  • Faptain is currently 5/5/3 (lots of yellow pulls from leg tokens), and level 131. This should be interesting as I'm also going with Cap'n Marvel for the opponent.

Going to have deny red at all costs, and hopefully save up to 28 to fire off red twice.

I think even if I did drop the 342,761 iso to level him (well, 338k or so - I like to keep mine at 269), he'd struggle.

But then, I wiped with Thing today at 120, brought him to 130 and won on the second try, so who knows.
Haven't lost one yet, but we're in the territory of characters that aren't so well covered (4Clops, Rhulk, x23, Mr.F, Faptain) (finished off Creepsicle this past weekend. That one should be pretty cool).
  • 4/4/0 166. If I get lucky and pull at least one red I might have a shot, otherwise can't imagine a win scenario.

If it's Captain Marvel, then you can only hope surviving her Hypersonic Punch and the stunned turns, and then keep boosting the strike.png with blue matches.

The same here, and we are not the only ones A LOT of people needs the red cover, we still need to see a red cover in the 1000 progression reward for his PvP, so the only way of winning a red cover was during his first PvE and by chance. So I am really annoyed, my 2/4/0 captain has 0 chances of winning, even though I have six covers!. I guess devs have not thought about that but they should postpone this DDQ4 until we can at least win one red cover!

Ps: They need to stop selecting covers for prices randomly!

You realise you were meant to beat Human Torch? Thing was supposed to be on your side.

Have you marched 14 heroes to their deaths so far?

Even with 8 covers, my 3/3/2 level 168 FalCap has very little chance against a level 270 Capt Marvel. I basically have to wait for a board with a lot of yellow and fire off a yellow and 2 reds on the same turn. Since that's 28 red, I have to get pretty lucky.

1/3/2 for my Falcap so unless it's Bagman, not even going to try.

The last Thing DDQ was too rage inducing to even bother.

I know people are focused on the red, but with some yellow and blue covers it may be possible to get match damage down to 1 per turn.

If it is Captain Marvel and she throws down an attack tile that may be all you need (Caps blue will get it done).

It's not a pretty strategy but it's not overwhelmingly unfair as Kingpin or Thing had it.

Except as soon as she gets red, all of your protects go away. In a lot of these fights (Starlord v Gamora, Thing v Torch, XF v Cyclops) it's not just about dealing the damage but about doing it before you die from theirs. At 270 and 5 covers, her red is going to hit pretty hard.

If you can actually damage her, she's going to make 5 of the 7 red she needs. I'm envisioning needing to save up enough red to fire dive bomb twice in one go and then still survive her firing skills after. The player will need 9 yellow and 28 red. She'll need 7 red and 9 black.

It's going to be tough (hopefully I'm wrong).
