Roster progress report, and plans for your roster

Overall roster size: 92 -> 102. Mostly grinding out four-stars, but I also decided to take the plunge on my first two 5-stars (Star-Lord and BP) because I had multiple covers on both. 5* Black Panther gets the distinction of being Hero #100.

2-Star

Just finished a re-roster pass a little while, grinding them all back up to 144 again. The current human interest story of the batch is Human Torch, stuck at 86 with 10 red and black covers waiting for a green (5/5/2). At the high end, Magneto at 136 is a bit of an outlier; the peleton is in the 118-124 range.

3-Star

Cruise control. Everyone is rostered and everyone except She-Hulk (3/3/5 - 140) and the new Star-Lord (1/2/2 - 66) is championed and climbing the ladder. Patch, the high-water mark, just broke 200, Still using my favorite heroes to prioritize HPs and 4* covers, so anyone who's within 1-2 covers of the magic levels (171, 179, 183, 187) gets a gold heart.

4-Star

Starting to see the end of the runway -- down to 9 4*s left to acquire (Carnage, DD, Drax, GR, Iceman, Kate Bishop, Kingpin, Spider-Gwen, War Machine). Drax should be close (R&G is at 182, so I'll get a Drax next level) and I'm about a month away from hitting my MPQ birthday and getting DD covers. The rest... other than maybe Iceman, I'm content to get them as they trickle in. My favorite strategy is that when I have HPs for a slot, I add one (currently Iceman) to the favorites; when I'm broke, I focus on making 1-2 cover heroes a little more viable.

At the top end, I'm holding everyone at 168 -- high enough to clear trash, but not enough to mess up scaling too bad. Mordo. Gwenpool, Riri, Luke Cage, and Agent Coulson are at 168/8+ covers, and another 4 (Blade, Capt. Marvel, Spider-Woman, Agent Venom) at 147/7 covers. I'm starting to feel like I might bump that into the 180-200 range, but not yet.

5-Star

I finally cracked the seal. I had multiple Star-Lord covers, so I went ahead and added him, and soon after, I did the same for Black Panther. I'm not going to level them yet, but at this point, I'll probably be treating 5*s the same as the remaining 4s in terms of priority -- add 1 new 5* to the favorites when I've got HPs available, level the existing ones when I don't.

So yes, quite a good start on those 3. I still have 1040 CP to spend, but needed to stop for a while and level up everyone before I kept going.

On the 4* front, vaulting messed with me like it did for almost everyone. Opening my hoard gave me a flood of covers for the latest 12, so now all of them are max covered. The only ones left that aren't champed are:

War Machine (5/4/3) - He's vaulted, so I'm in no rush to finish him off
Mordo - He's next on my list to champ since I have 6 covers for him in my queue
Wasp - She's max covered, but I've been selling off her excess covers since you can still get the rework bonus for them. A 3-cover dupe leveled to 87 nets you 5k ISO and 1k HP
Agent Venom - Arguably the worst 4* of the bunch and last in my priority list
Agent Coulson - I like him a lot, but ISO needs are huge and he's going to have to wait for a while

On the 3* side, BWGS is up to level 260. Once she gets to 266, I'll roster a dupe to farm. I'm not going to sell any max champ 3*s since they're too valuable in PvP.

2* farm is getting depleted. By the time I champ Mordo and Thanos, I'll probably have 6 or 7 2*s that need to be champed from level 15. That will take a while.

So the plan for the next month is Mordo, 5Thanos, then 2* farm. Once Thanos is champed, I can use the rest of my CP to finish off the other 2 Latest guys.

It's been another month, so time for another update.

In the 5* world, I spent the rest of my CP.  Thanos is now champed and Hawkeye is fully covered at level 255.  Black Panther is 5/4/3.  So I'm done using CP for Latest tokens.  I'm not going to hoard again so I've been using my CP to try to fill in the rest of my 5*s.  Currently I have IM46 at 12 covers, Phoenix and Spidey at 11 covers, Steve Rodgers at 8 covers, and the rest at 5 covers or below.

In the 4* realm I finished off Mordo, Wasp and Coulson.  The only ones not champed are War Machine (still not max covered), Agent Venom, Iron Fist and Cloak and Dagger (4 covers).  Since Iron Fist is the progression reward for the next PvP, he's my next target.

 2* farm is up and running again, which is good because I have a lot of ISO needs.  I know, who doesn't?

So the plan for the immediate future is Iron Fist, followed by 5* Hawkeye.  If I get an Agent Venom cover, then I'll probably throw him in the mix too ahead of Hawkeye.  Unless I get another Hawkeye cover.

In the last month I champed Iron Fist, 5Hawkeye and Agent Venom.  My current target is Black Panther since I picked up a 13th and 14th cover for him recently.  That will give me 5 champed 5*s.

For 4*s, all of the latest 12 are champed except for Cloak & Dagger, but that's because I been super unlucky with their covers, something like 6/1/9.  I'll get there eventually.  When the 2 new 4*s come into tokens later this week I'll have to finish them too.

I'm still trying to finish off some of the Classic 5*s by pulling Classic tokens, with mixed results.  Spidey and IM46 are at 12 covers, Phoenix still has 11, 5Cap has 10, but Black Bolt, Strange, Goblin and Hulk only have 5 each.  That's a lot better than they were, but still a long way to go.  So the goal is still to pull Classics for a while.

Changes over the past month
1. Huge month with 4 4*s champed, the most I've done in a month and bringing my total up to 23. The GoTG event finally let me max cover my 12 cover Nova, and with another 2 covers expiring it seemed a waste not to bring him up. Medusa and CaptainMarvel are no brainers once they hit 13 covers, while Gwenpool was kind of an impulse decision with 4 covers lingering in my queue.
2. Of the 4 max covered 4*s in the previous update CaptainMarvel has left the gang, while AgentCoulson, Blade, Mordo, RiriWilliams, Wasp joined the gang. Meanwhile Nova and Medusa just hopped on Gwenpool's bike and waved the rest goodbye as they rode off into the land of champions. 
3. Next character to be champed will be AgentCoulson, then I'll see how's the situation after that. Blade's leaving LTs soon so I'm a bit hesitant to get him up even though he's pretty good, while Wasp has already left. Meanwhile I have zero interest in getting Mordo and RiriWilliams up so those are the lowest priorities
4. Most probably the only reason I managed such a huge boost was because I attempted 3 weeks worth of PVEs, and considering one release PVE played to 4 clears was already tiring, 3 weeks worth totally drained me out, and also at the expense of PVP, where for the first time in a few seasons I failed to even hit 850 in a single PVP. Taking a break from all events now, and I'll decide whether to continue with PVE when next season starts.
5. Last update I said I'd stop tracking the time since last OML draw, but worth noting that I drew my first OML covers in more than 14 months, back to back
6. ISO Usage and Debt

ISO to cap (3*-4*): 6.6M (Previous Update: 5.6M)

ISO invested (all characters): 18.0M (Previous Update: 16.1M)

So much for trying to get my ISO to cap down, but ISO to max is still surprisingly going down (less than 10M for the first time in more than 15 months), and 2M invested overall means a great month for progress despite spending 1 week away on holiday.

Really great progress last month at the expense of a truckload of energy. Not sure if I want to continue this kind of play style though.

Looks like eight more seasons tracked there.

Last season: rushed to champ Thanos, opened hoard to get more levels on him - opened 3 Thanos and last 4 BP I needed, so forced to hoard again. Got to where I could champ BP late in season and opened 2nd part of hoard (fully) - pulled no BP and forced into two 4* champs, started hoarding 3rd time for final week of season.

3* changes: SL rostered, not champed. Three 266 (+2, Cage/Grocket), all three dupes started. Patch/BPKK/Mag/SG/BE/Blade/Cap/Rag/BW all 255+, all BH until I stop chasing LT.

4* changes C&D rostered. 37 champed (+2: Gwenpool, Mordo). 9 at 172 (+duck).

Vaulted 4* status: Unchamped Wasp about to join my six other ignored , vaulted 4*'s (PX/WM/GR/IW/Drax/MrF [/Duck]). Drew to champ BP - instead drew SEVEN Gwenpool and SEVEN Mordo - raced to champ both. Venom/Riri unchamped with 13 covers, IF/C&D don't have 13.

5* changes: No daily drop and haven't pulled a classic for three seasons, no changes there. Thanos 453 (+3), 3/5/45BP (+4, one was bonus hero), HE 1/3/2 (+6). No 5k iso [whoops, I mean no SL]

All rostered and at various stages of ripeness. All the Championing activity higher levels has resulted in me rostering dupes to save covers for a number of characters though.. Once they start being levelled, the spots will be used for 3* dupes

So I went ahead and entered 5* land. Scaling in Pve took a spike, and MMR has been more forgiving, but it's still manageable, and strangely pvp seems easier and harder at the same time. More 5* rosters can see me, but then I can catch grills now, so it balances out.
Once Riri is champed, I'll try to hunt down a C&D cover so I can champ them, then the 2* farm needs some more attention and I'll start putting iso into Panther to join Thanos, and then I'll start aiming to hit 1200 in pvp. I'll probably keeping pulling some classics in the hope of finishing off a couple of the first 4.
I have hopes that these scaling trials will lead to something permanent, else my pve playing will get scaled back.

Offseason update!

Right after passing my 2-year mark, this season had my biggest milestone ever: I pulled my mini-hoard after C&D entered the vault, and ended up with enough covers to champ my first three 5*s: Thanos, Black Panther and Black Bolt. So just like that, I made the 4->5* transition. 

What does that mean for the future of my roster? Dunno. I champed C&D this week -- my 27th 4* -- so there's nothing pressing for me to chase on the 4* front. I don't have much interest in 5* Quill, so for now I'm hoarding until G4mora and 4*RGroot enter the vault, then I might pull a bunch of Classics in hopes of further covering some older 5*s, specifically 5trange. It's a brave new world here in 5* land.

At the 4* level, I championed Fist a few hours before the first extra cover I had for him would have expired.  Cloak and Dagger are nearly unchanged at 2/3/4.  I hit 370 for the first time with a current character (Wasp).  Next closest is, I think, Blade at 338.

In the 3*s, have gotten several more to max-champ level, and rostered several more dupes.  And 3-4 of those dupes (Daken, Daredevil, Deadpool, and Groot, at least) have been championed.  I did hit one milestone, as my second Lazy Cap hit max-champ level (this one isn't getting sold).  Two or three others are getting close.  It has hit me that the difference in acquisition rate between vaulted and latests is huge.

Overall?  Another million or two ISO into the roster.  Almost all is going into dupes now.

Looking forward?  Well, going to spend all my legendaries and cp as soon as Wasp is out of tokens, mostly looking for levels for Thanos and Panther.  And covers for C&D, I guess.  They aren't great, but still want to have them championed.

My next ISO project is my now-fully covered Red Hulk dupe (who has somehow managed to get three covers pending).  After that are two or three 3*s (Rags and Beast, for sure.  Quicksilver too, if I can somehow pull an non-blue cover).

Once I blow those legendaries and CP, I plan on hoarding both for some time.  Either until just before Starlord leaves latests or just after (he looks terrible, but still might want to have him.  Definitely not in a rush for him).

After that? Champion C&D, if possible.  Champion Howard or Dino, maybe.  Keep the farm going.  Champion whatever 3*s become possible.

Edit: I hit Shield Rank 125 in there.  I never got close to 100 when that was the limit, so I feel like raising the limit again is overdue.

Hasn't been a lot going on since writing this.  Nothing but champion levels on the 5* tier.

For 4*s, Cloak & Dagger was championed, along with that Rulk dupe, as was Howard (this morning).  Groot and Gamora are both exactly where Cloak & Dagger were a season ago.  Blade is still my highest current, now at 350 (with a couple others close behind).

For 3*s, GSBW, IM40, and Patch dupes all hit 266 (the former, just an hour ago).  Several others hit max champ for the first time.  Several other dupes were championed (Rags, Quicksilver, Steve, Beast, and Spiderman, at least).  Star-Lord is at 166, but not yet championed.  Falcon and Squirrel Girl dupes are ready to be championed (the former with covers pending).

Looking ahead?  Not sure.  Will champion Groot and Gamora as soon as I get the remaining four covers for each.  I never pulled 5tar-Lord and probably won't, as I'm hoarding my tokens and cp.  Probably until we get three more good ones in latests.  All of which probably means it'll be a couple seasons until I spend ISO on anything except dupes and whatever new 4*s I can fully cover; the only things I currently have covers for are Falcon, Squirrel Girl, and Dino (Psylocke is also close, at 2/5/5).  Perhaps I'll roster 2* dupes, so I can keep a set of 144s.

About to finish Cage (4* #26), after that will champ 3* HE for his Pvp event (will be down to 3 3*, Hood, Ragnarok and Star-Lord).

Will attempt to hoard in june and the order of champ this month would be something like this: Cage > Hawkeye (3*) > Coulson > Iron Fist > C&D > finish 3* (Hood, Ragnarok and Star-Lord) > open CP and LTs and then either Gamora or R&G depending on what i can get fully coverd first (2/2/4 and 2/3/4 respectively). 

Hopefully by July i can open LT and Classics without worrying about having to sell extra 4* covers (looking at you Iron Fist).

After that i'll champ whatever comes from pvp or pve. A double iso week would be very appreciated this month. I hate hoarding. Lack the will power

This month felt pretty miserable, with multiple long stretches of no 5* pulls and worse, no starlord until the very last day of the season, and the alliance token for season gave me my 14th BP, which triggered a wild flurry of iso-grubbing once more. So BP is now champed and being suave and tons of fun, with or without Thanos.

Only one BH this time, and while the number of pulls overall was reduced, enough of them fell very luckily in the exact characters who needed them - Hawkeye and Banner.

And because I like to live dangerously, I opened classics again after I champed BP and found myself in sudden possession of Banner #14. New target to champ for the new season!

Champion all of the latest 12 (IF, C&D, Gamora are missing). Meanwhile I´m still hoarding LTs (115) and CPs (500; I´ve spend many CPs in order to get covers for R&G and Gamora).

Opened my mini stash - 8 Legendary Tokens and 450 CP. I had set my Bonus Heroes to be 5* Panther and 4* Grocket in preparation for the opening. I spent all of the CP on Doc Ock LTs. I didn't record the pulls, but of note:

Three 5* total (15% of 26 is 3.9, so this falls in expected range) - 2 Black Panthers from LTs, and 1 Doc Ock (Green!) from the Superior Intellect tokens.
Three 4* bonus heroes (and this was the only Grocket covers I received)
Three Yellow Medusa covers which didn't help my 5/0/4 at all. I did pull a 4th Medusa cover, this one was Red (finally!).

So now the hunt for more Medusa covers is on. I've swapped her over to my only 4* BH and I'm pretty close to having the required ISO on hand to champ as soon as I can.

Overall, pretty happy with what I got, and it's good to feel like I made some kind of progress again.

Day 920

For the third time since vaulting began I've hit a pause/hoard point.  I generally intend to max cover and eventually champ every character (4* and below) according to the pretty common philosophy of current>top-tier vaulted>the rest.  Due to a few lucky heroic pulls and some progression rewards, I found myself with four characters with expiring covers.  One mis-tap of a legendary made the choice for me - I got another cover for IF4, so I champed him, and now I'm working on C4ge.  He should be done in a couple days.

After that, I target X-23, because a 14th cover is coming in daily rewards.  My Torch is 3 levels away from giving me a 14th Thing, so he's next.  Then Medusa, because she's Medusa.

After that I start opening the hoard.  It's not big right now - 5 legendaries and 190 CP.  Waiting through three champs plus rebuilding the 2* farm, I'm guessing it'll be about triple that by the time I start opening.  G4mora is the character I'm most looking forward to building, but at that point my other non-champed token characters will be at 12, 11, 10, and 4 covers, none of whom will be cycling out anytime soon.

For my bonus heroes I'm just designating every vaulted character that isn't either fully covered or guaranteed to get to 13 through 3* champ rewards.  I figure I'll just randomly work on that list so I have all the options when I'm "caught up" on the latest 12.

3* - R&G and GSBW became my first two to hit 266, passing Storm due to vaulting. Thanos, Strange, and Hawkguy are my BH, and are now at 207, 206, and 176, respectively.  All others are between 260 and 223.

3* - Kamala, Cap, Storm, and Patch are at 266, making 6 max 3*.  I have dupes for 5 of them, although only one is champed. Thanos (232) and Strange (233) have started passing non-token 3*, so now I change my BH to the lowest 3 3* every week.  Star-Lord is my only unchamped 3*, Hawkeye is lowest champ at 194, and everyone else is 227-264.

I managed to get both Gwenpool and Blade to 13 covers recently, and had another 2 Gwenpool covers on the vine. With the Unstable ISO awarding Blade covers I was a bit unsure about champing Gwen. In the end, I did; since I forgot Unstable ISO was a 7 day event, and I've got some 2* farms about to reach maturity again. Just as well, because this week's Crash gave me a third champ level for her which I was glad to not sell.

I'm back up to ~120k ISO plus 130K in 2* farms waiting to turn over, so I feel like I'm on track for Blade pretty soon as well.

I'm up to 21 4* champs.
Of the current 12 I have 7 champed,

My plan is to do Iron Fist next, he's at 5/5/2 and I'm getting an unusable cover from progression from Thick as Thieves so I'll open some tokens to try and get his 13th and finish him.

Immediately after will be Agent Venom (5/5/2) as he'll be coming out of tokens soon and I'm hoping I get his 13th from the pulls I get IF.

Once that's done I've got all the 12 covered up to Cloak and Dagger so I'll hoard and start working on rebuilding.  I ravaged my 2* farm (selling 2*s for ISO and no rechamping) to get a head of the curve on vaulting.  So I'm gonna pause and get the 8 non-champed 2*s champed before moving on.

Depending on how long that takes and what the current CP landscape looks like I will either champ some of my non-vaulted 13 cover 4*s (Quake, Kate Bishop, Devil Dino, probably Thoress by that point) or go after the the new 12.

Champed Blade halfway through TaT. The first 13 covers had fallen as 3/5/5, so I was very eager to flip Red up to Rank 5 and wow! By the time I champed I had 4 covers in queue, and gained a 5th cover from the LT awarded from his first champ level. I'm having a blast with him, so I hope I can pick up a few more covers before he leaves. I might mark him as my 4* BH while I build up my ISO again.

I've got Agent Venom at 5/5/2, with one cover in queue. It looks like AV will be required/progression for the PvE after next, but not sure whether it'll be the right colour.

I've also got Captain Marvel at 5/4/3, with her 3* rapidly approaching the yellow cover at champ level 223. I'll wait and see if AV falls through or not, if I get the right cover, I'll champ him first, since I have one on queue already. Otherwise, will be happy to finish levelling Carol.

Also getting close to having each of the latest 12 with 10+ covers, so I may start hoarding cp & tokens & iso again.

This week I champed Gamora and then Rocket & Groot, so I now have all the 4*s championed except of course Sandman.  Oddly, I was able to get Gamora and R&G fully covered before 3* Starlord even.  Now I just need to put a few days worth of iso into my 3* and 2* duplicate farms because of extra covers dying on the vine, and then I'll be able to start seriously leveling some 5*s.  Wow.
