Magneto is way overpowered in this round. You can flat out overpower most enemies even when they're at level 230 with Magneto, though I always have Spiderman just in case.

I'd be loving life right now if my Mags was at a respectable level. Guys that normally do Lighting Rounds and level up their villains must be having a field day. Too bad they didn't boost the heroes, but then everybody would have a field day LoL

Nope. I'm actually fairly lacking in Hero covers. Other than hulk and spidey I'm pretty much all villains. Loving this and the hopefully coming soon Doom levels.

How many times can you play through for points. Is it 4 or 5 times?

You and a small army have been complaining about this for a couple of weeks; I would've thought you know how by now, as much as anyone. If you're going to post screencaps, please consider editing out the user's name rather than starting witch hunts. We are not all facing the same challenge:

Someone asked what simulator basics looks like on a fairly new account?
I just started the pc version to test this. I can't get through to hard mode yet (with just lvl 1 IM and lvl 1 storm), but the simulator prep has all level 1's (for both prep 1 and 2)
User in your pics has some eccentric leveling habits - maybe they know something about how to manipulate scaling we don't - but otherwise I don't know what you think looks not legit. There's a moderately leveled C.Storm there and a lv18 C.Mags who gets an effective level of over 100 in this sub. If that person's seeing, say, level 30-70 enemies, they could do everything with that pair and a passenger.

Five if you really want to do that to yourself - 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, 20% of base, multiplied by rubber band factor. You're going to run into time issues unless you can do that incredibly fast, though - it'd be 50 clears per sub, 100 if you do both, and you have to finish it by 12 hours before you want to start the next set of repeats. Still, potentially worth considering for the occasional gimme with decent value, since you can burn it down five times for triple points and potentially skip a harder one altogether.

    @dx_das
I'm trying to get a daken cover or something on my new account to check levels for hard mode simulator, but I assume they are facing a lot lower level than you. I checked the prep missions and they were all level ones.

  • I think people need to stop worrying about how this person or that person can get a higher score than you. Just play the game and if you do well great, if not, just get all the ISO. If you don't get a Psylocke, she'll probably be the reward in the next 15 PvP tourneys, so you'll be fine.

Would it really help if it's a guy with level 141 in every cover that's at the top? People would just say that guy is hacking or P2W.
  • I find in this tournament if you simply do every mission until you get the 500 Isotope 8 reward you should have a solid top 10 finish barring some really bizarre luck (e.g. you got 500 isotope on all the hard missions on first try).

For quick point grind, it's probably easiest just to do the hardest mission 5 times, especially on round 2 where Magneto can easily clean up. Any goon only mission is usually pretty good too since Patch can slice through them.
  • I can verify that.

My girlfriend's accounts Hard Mode levels are about 1/3 to 1/2 of what mine are. Her best characters are a 60ish Thor, 50 MStorm, and 40 Daken.

I see 230s on the big ISO fights, she sees 120s on her account. I woke this morning after the Round reset, and she showed me that she cleared all of Hard Mode. At the time, most of the missions were levels 40-60 on Hard Mode (higher now, but still...)

There is some sort of scaling factor based upon an unknown variable. I'm thinking its some combination of MMR and history of 3*** tourney wins. It can't be time played, because she is on day 50ish of daily rewards.

    This.

WIth the patch notes today stating that DD has been added to the random lottery, you can pretty much expect that DD won't be offered as the tourney prizes anymore either after the villain tourney or after the Simulator event. Psylocke will be the next cover offered a million times until the next 3*** is revealed. Given past history, that is enough time for most who can 3*** place in tourneys to rack up most, if not all 13 covers for her.

*** The only asterisk to this statement being that Psylocke will likely be the next required 3*** for the Essential missions on the next few tourneys in order to get people to buy her cover packs. This would be the only reason to grind for at least 1 of her covers in this event.

Keep in mind the boosted character have basically something like 100 levels added to their level so a level 40 Daken is really like a level 140 Daken and can easily clean up level 100 enemies.

I suspect people with weak rosters will figure they might as well use all the boosted character plus whatever specialist that works (Storm, Patch, whatever) while people with strong rosters might be sticking to their tried and true methods. But no level 141 character is a match for a maxed Moonstone or Daken in just straight up damage and the ability to absorb damage (well, Hulk can be, but Hulk doesn't do anything else). I think people are also vastly underestimating what dealing an extra 100 damage per match 3 does in the long run which is roughly the difference between the match 3 strength of a boosted character versus any random level 141 character.

Of course the highly trained pack I get on my pc tester account is an Invisible woman...

(she cant beat the cap in prep lol. shes not buffed in the prep)
  • Lvl 227 devil Dino just destroyed me. Almost 6k per bite.
  • I haven't played in awhile. Hm. Maybe I should start my easy bracket and do a clear, then grind some hard.

    Why?

Reporting people you think are cheating is a trivial process, and Demiurge will act on it if there is foul play.

I don't see the attraction or logic in passively being a victim.

    Bingo.

Your comments yesterday and watching my girlfriend play have led me to the same conclusion.

Boosted 2**s are the "great equalizer" against 141s. Going forward. possessing a diverse roster of 2** 85s to leverage whatever Powered-Up characters of the weeks are going to be much more cost effective than building 141s.

Sure, 141s will be more potent in the long run, unlike situational Powered-Up 2**s, but you can level 2.5 2**s to 85 for the cost of 1 141, and you can get a 2** to 60 for only half the investment to level to 85 (34.5k ISO).

I'm diverting most of my ISO from this event to starting bringing up those laggard max-covered 2**s I've been neglecting.
  • I still find myself rocking OBW and Patch as my main go tos for this event. The only boosted characters I use are the IM40 when forced and Mags because he owns.

I dunno maybe I should bust out Daken and Moonstone and the others but I just don't feel they'd be good enough.
  • I've really played the resets badly.

Playing hard mode and these Level 138 goons get literally 8 countdown tiles at ONCE 2 moves into the game and just destroy the entire team and you honestly have no way to stop them unless you use boosts, which is just dumb. Just annoys the **** out of me.
This is what the developers refer to as a "challenge". I wonder if anyone has ever calculated the total cost of buying boosts with ISO and HP for these events, whether in the end it'll be cheaper to buy the covers, and just use these events as ISO farms.
