Yeah that's just unfortunate board work. Though I have noticed, especially when he plays with IM40 that he starts dying because I depleted all the yellow on the board carelessly.
But that's because I am a **** player and not really his fault.0 -
Everything is coming up if not already on level 230 on hard mode for me now0
-
The level scaling really just isn't working is it?0
-
As per the last 2 PvE events you get ramped up to lvl 230s insanely fast and they never seem to go down again (at least not for me even after getting wiped a few times).
Again abusing Spidey's blue ability at 2AP a pop and trying to perma stun your opponents before they can get any actual abilities off is the only way i've been able to take down the ridiculous fights and it takes an age. If they ever "Funbalance" Spidey then they'll need to actually fix their garbage system or at least explain the rules they use so I can work out how to get whatever the 2* max lvl 35 guy who's topping my simulator - Easy is facing .
Only saving grace is invisible woman is in one of the higher reward fights and she's pretty useless and paired with a Maggia Don who doesn't do anything all that quickly making that pretty much the easiest fight.0 -
Yeah, seen you in my hard bracket bon. You seem to be managing to get points anyway.
Guy top of my main bracket has over 90k points.
If that evidence is anything to go by it really pays to have a low level roster.0 -

It's just abusing the game really. I use lvl110 patch 85 OBW and 40 something spidey with 5 blue (low lvl so OBW matches to steal with espionage on blues), use a blue/pink boost and hope I get a few blue matches early enough to stop them getting one hit by something. Once I have 5 webs on board and enemy stunlocked I make a ton of strike tiles with patch and start killing them, then web bandages just before I finish to heal (or anti grav device if I have a ton of blues). Have to use Ares for the one with wolverine in it which makes it even slower....
It takes ages cause of all that health but it's doable. Would be so much better if the scaling wasn't garbage and you weren't punished for having decent levels on your guys.
Having said that, there's no way i'm bothering to do the matchup with Hood in it more than the one time to progress (cause I can't afford any blues being stolen) or the one with bag man spidey (cause I need Spidey to not get torn apart).0 -
Bagman level isn't so hard once you get started I find, M.Storm, OBW and IM40 do the job for me there just fine, that and cold snap is easy to reach at 102, so it's ballistic salvo galore for me on that map.
Over abundance of blue all the time so heal liberally, with recharge and ballistic salvo and storm controlling the board.
And stealing AP from them when they have too much and you're gold.0 -
Unfortunately my IM40 has precisely 1 blue cover and nothing else0

My normal mode is level 230 for everything lol
ditto for me too. i've just been grinding out the missions if they are worth 1000+. its not worth fighting a 230 team that could wipe ur whole squad with a bad board and 1 wrong move for less than 1K.
how many more days of this one???

lol most of the environments fit perfectly for you to dismantle what your up against that coupled with the correct character selection, each buffed character works best on a different stage. I find this a better experience then oscorp which was just plain difficult with the roaster you had on offer.0
-
None of my easy mode battles are 230. My IW/Pun battle is at 214. And I'm 2nd in all my brackets (main/easy/hard) so if you have level 230s you probably grinded too much.0
-
I think the first day and second day were the only days I went all out, I have missed a few rotations on this current simulator but still sitting top in the hard mode and in 6th for the normal but I haven't really bothered with that mode. Top in my main with 80'000 and 17'000 thousand separate me and 2nd. It's been plain sailing so far0

Wow, all this info about refreshes and stuff.
I really messed up my Simulator. I wonder if it's even possible for me to pick up some patch covers, now, nevermind having a shot at getting Psylocke.0 -
should be able to get the progression at 50'000 if you haven't hit there already, think it was a patch yellow. I don't need patch as he is level'd to 141 so sold my cover for the iso and hero points0

Have they explained why they've decided to use this system? Clearly some people are able to run this stuff. If I didn't happen to be fortunate enough to have a Classic Spidey with 5 blue, I would be getting completely trashed in these fights. Once they do nerf him if they keep these same difficulty of fights I would love to know how you would beat these without him. The game is really fun until you get to the point where you have to use what I would consider cheese tactics to try and win. Devs please, please, please look at this stuff, once the levels of the mobs get to 180+ they become near impossible to win without a ton of luck and this is not in any way fun.0

And in your response lies the core problem here with the PvE game at the moment.
The devs are trying to create a standardized difficulty for PvE across the board. This works very well for low-level rosters, but is still quite broken on mid-high end.
You are **not** supposed to win against fights 50+ levels against you in most situations, short of lucky board rolls and superior roster management. However, (yes, dead horse incoming) the mid-high PvE game is completely broken because of Spidey 5-blue. In theory, if no one can beat the 180+ mobs because they can't be perpetually stunlocked, then the mobs levels will never get that high. The devs likely wanted the high-level PvE to be a contest of who can manage encounters at around 150-160ish the best. The 230s are likely meant to be in the territory of full 4**** range.
If you read between the lines, there are quite a few signals that the devs are moving render the 150+ fights much more difficult and risky to even attempt. With the implementation of the Power Shift with the upcoming patch this week, you can bet Spidey will at bat for a funbalancing post haste. The devs had to get the respec system in place first to avoid another Rags and Thorverine disaster. With respec in place, they can move forward with retuning Spidey.
Other signs of slowing down and adding risk to the game from the R48 notes can be derived from the retirement of the rainbow boots and the +3 AP boosts as well. The replacement stackable +1 AP boosts is giant nerf to boost effectiveness. Want that +3 Green/Black AP boost to ensure Patch's Berserker Rage goes off early? Sure... that's 3 +1 Green/Black boosts, and that is all you can boost for the entire round. 1 or 2 +1 boosts are meaningless, short of removing the fractional match requirement on moves (Ex: +1 boost for a 10 AP move to only require 3 matches instead of 4).
Take away the alpha effect of boosts and Spidey stunlock, and the game gets much, much risker. Hope you didn't get a bad board roll or the AI pulls off a miracle cascade in the second turn. Otherwise, there are going to be many more losses ahead in most player's future.0 -
Spidey is not why these are broken. I don't use him for any fight but the one with black widow. My problem using spidey is mana for the enemy so much better luck using obw along with punisher/patch and third situational character depending on the fight. I probably wouldn't mind so many 200-230 enemies if I had even maxed level buffed char. As is I have a handful of 2/3 leveled 2 star buffed characters and magneto with 1 blue cover which I must admit is way the heck op for the xforce fight. Somehow can down the 230 version with 15 magneto 124 punisher and 85 bwidow. As is I've noticed the people who utterly destroyed every node the first wave of the second round have slowed down quite a bit so maybe they're also feeling the curve that the high level people were stuck with before any 'grinding' happened. And as far as that goes I haven't seen grinding affect enemy levels at all this pve nor would I bother once their pts dropped to 1 anyways
Btw starting a new account is actually pretty fun. Forgot how weak characters with 150 health feel rofl0 -

The trouble is those are the only fights you get! Instead of a matter of abusing Spideys blue ability these PvE events will be all about gaming the system to maximize how many points you can get from every single fight and doing as few fights as possible. Seems strange to me for them to incentivise playing less of their game....0
