Is this in reflection to progression or placings? You've been unfortunate with bracketing if the second.
  • I'm top of my brackets. I just have left a ton of tourney points on the table.

Look on the bright side, with 300k points for the tourney, whats a few thousand points now. As long as you are top 10 consistently, or even top 2, you haven't really lost much in my opinion. Grinding right the last few days is a different story.
  • My best characters for this event are:

    Lv77 Ares
    Lv77 Thor
    Lv77 C.storm <-- Buff
Lv25 Mag <-- Buff (but I only have lv2 red on him)
    Lv45 OBW

Ares, Thor, C.storm are my highest level characters.. How can I possibly do well in this tourney when all the enemies can obliterate me easily? Goons seem much more OP than superheroes in this universe.. And Lv230s make me lose 4 out of any 5 times I try to win that node. So in which multiverse are we playing in? icon_e_confused.gif

I'm forced to use boosts and it's not even a guaranteed win .. which easily puts me in ISO stagnation or deficit.

Sigh, I wanna stand in front of D3 and whine all day long because the game makes me want to.

That's what I call playing optimally. Every point over second place at the end is wasted effort.

Playing hard mode and these Level 138 goons get literally 8 countdown tiles at ONCE 2 moves into the game and just destroy the entire team and you honestly have no way to stop them unless you use boosts, which is just dumb. Just annoys the **** out of me.

Log a bug report. There is no way the goons should have enough AP for 8 countdowns on turn 2. Even when they cold drop a countdown earlier they generally idle until turn 4 or 5.

If he has all or most of his covers he'll become your best character in this tournament at about level 30

We're 1/3rd through the tournament, and I'm currently at 60k points. Even though subs seem to be increasing in point value, it's probably going to be pretty hard to reach 300k. We are seeing point values increase slightly for this sub though, so I'm going to try to aim for 250k for that 8k iso reward.

Extra patch is pretty useless anyway.

    The RNG is sentient.
I think people need to stop worrying about how this person or that person can get a higher score than you. Just play the game and if you do well great, if not, just get all the ISO. If you don't get a Psylocke, she'll probably be the reward in the next 15 PvP tourneys, so you'll be fine.
Certainly not. Anyone with a slightly more outrageous amount of time to waste than me is a try-hard. If they have a really good roster they bought it. An even better roster they're obviously cheating, no one has that much money. And anyone with slightly less time who whines that it's too hard is a scrub.

Everyone needs Psylocke because she'll obviously be an entry ticket and get a round of buffs in the immediate future. You only need one cover at a stretch for entry ticket purposes, though. Not sure she's much of a leveling priority if you already have a Punisher, since they overlap quite a lot and she has a fairly weird AP steal instead of AoE. Can drop attack tiles with no fuss, though, that's nice.

There is some sort of scaling factor based upon an unknown variable. I'm thinking its some combination of MMR and history of 3*** tourney wins. It can't be time played, because she is on day 50ish of daily rewards.
With what little we know for sure I'm guessing placement history, for the moment, though it might be taking current score or rank into account, as well. I had top 2 in TaT bracket, 230s from the start in Oscorp & ignored it entirely, then sounds like easier starts than many in both Simulator subs after almost completely ignoring easy mode and placing somewhere in the standard tokens. Possibly they're reacting to the same seventeen dudes winning every Hunt: Ares sub; if so it's a bit risky, but I could certainly follow the reasoning.

Only 2 purple currently. Sigh, I wish my success in a tourney doesn't turn out to depend on one or two characters' presence like this. icon_rolleyes.gif

I wish events can be doable without actually requiring you to have a certain character to win ..

You used to be able to do a good subset of the missions in all of the subevents before they introduced this silly scaling. When you said level 230s, did you mean normal mode or hard mode? If you're talking about hard mode, then eh because hard mode is supposed to be hard. If you're talking about normal mode, then yeah. I think Demiurge will adjust scaling so that normal mode is doable for a large part of the player population, so hopefully they fix it soon.

Can someone explain to me how the points system work?

Let's say that I start the easy missions at 1pm and only finish at 3pm. Do the points reset at 1am or 3am, and can I keep on playing those missions to get points? Will the points still reset at 1/3am or will reset 12 hours after I last played those missions?
  • The purpose of the tourney is actually to show the devs how much Invisible Woman, X-Force and Daredevil suck. I find their missions easy in general, even lvl 230 IW and X-Force present the biggest threat only when they make matches. DD just gets owned by mStorm every time.
Man, I wish I had more levels on my lvl 15 Magneto just to witness how much he rocks atm, barring the enemy Magneto in round 1 (that was near impossible to fight). But oh well, this is probably the farewell tourney to both Spidey and Magneto. I WILL MISS YOU, LVL 3 STUNLOCK.
  • It makes no more fun. At first it was still ok, but now I have only Lvl 150-230 (NH-HM) .... The system is getting better, but there is still a lot to do. You get a lot of iso, but it will be taken from you just as many again. Sometimes I even play a round ... The system is still a fun killer on the time. Im not here to work all day, because the normal mode is now also hard mode.....

Just tried him after reading this. Got no yellow tiles on the board, never could make a green match... ****
  • It feels like no one is playing this event. I did about 3/4 of the hard and all of the easy sub and was in the top 7 of each. Haven't had to do any mission a second time.

Each mission has a stack of 5 games before it is down to 1 point. Each game refreshes exactly 12 hours after you deplete it. Any mission you win is worth 20% times the number on the stack. So a full 5 stack is 100%, a 4 stack is 80% and so on down.

So if you take a mission and start at 1am. It takes you 5 minutes to win and you beat it all 5 times. It now has 0 stacks at 1:25. At 1pm it will still have 0 in the stack. At 1:05 it will get 1 back in the stack. At 1:10 it will get another back for. 2 stack and so on up to a 5 stack at 1:25.

This makes it more efficient to always grind down one mission before going on to the next if you are trying to play right on the refresh intervals. If you do circuits or bounce back and forward then you have to wait the length of the circuit between refreshes on the same stack.

And mission 1 doesn't affect mission 2. So finish mission 1 at 2pm it is ready again at 2am. But you could finish mission 2 at 6 pm and it would be ready at 6am without having had any influence on mission 1.
