  • Seriously Psyko... two laps already?

That's just what I was thinking. Good to know that one lap is good for Top 10 in our hard bracket - hoping to do max 1 lap per refresh. I'll miss tonight due to Valentine's Day with my better half (no regrets, we're doing a Star Wars Valentine's night with 3 other couples! I hit the lottery with her - best cover pull ever), So I won't be trying for first - just enough to keep the pace in my main. One lap through hard (haven't even touched easy yet, and I'm already back in 1st in main, so if the scaling keeps slowing more people down I'm actually all for it).

Awwww... Best Cover Pull ever! That is really sweet! men can be so romantic when they want to be.

So... What exactly does a Star Wars Valentines night consist of? My first thought was slave Leia ....

Wifey's birthday is on Feb. 11th, so we do all the romantic dinner/pressies type stuff before the actual Valentine's Day. Tonight is just getting together with our other coupled friends and watching as much of the original trilogy as we can get through. One of them has never seen any of the originals (poor millenials!), so it'll just be wine and treats and good company and The Force! Jar Jar is NOT invited.

Very very cool. My husband and I are going out for Vietnamese food then hitting up our fav comic book shop. Its tradition. but this year, while he looks for more paperback compilations to add to the collection - I will be digging through the boxes of single back issues looking for MPQ covers. I am curious to see how many I can find.
  • Ooooh -- Powered up Mags for this round.

Powered up 141 Magneto = 230's dropping like flies. He's an unstoppable beast. With the right team around him once he gets more than 4 red the other team will never have another move regardless of how much health they have icon_e_biggrin.gif

Hmm... They should probably fix that but I'm not going to be the one to tell them. LOL

My Mags is only level 30 icon_e_sad.gif

I almost just lost to Bagman in the Hard Simulator. I would have quit the game if I lost to that clown.

If It makes you feel better, it was probably Ares that almost beat you, not Bags LoL

I took Ares out real quick with a nice cascade and a Repulsor Blast. After that though Bagman kept making a Snarky Remark and increasing my timers for IM40's Recharge. Friggin Bagman.

Sorry man... He's rather obnoxious at a high level and like I said with the right supporting cast. His reds are free moves and cascade to create more red AP. I never use protect tiles for protect... I add them to the board to create criticals for damage and cascades for AP not to mention the move will almost give you enough blue to do it again and obviously his purple will drop just about anyone when he's powered up and if the board cooperates with you.

Yea, he's a beast, have mine cover capped at 30 1/1/2, wish I had more covers for him. Thinking of trying some tokens or even the 3800 HP lottery, but can't get myself to do it, as I would probably get ****

lol that bagman. Such a prankster.
  • My Magneto's 0/0/2 and 25th level. I'm not aiming high on this one.

As someone who's mostly paid for his roster I can tell you that the multiple cover packs aren't worth it UNLESS there's a new character you absolutely must have or you're desperate for a certain character's color that you don't have and that character is guaranteed in the pack. There is however value in the single daily deals. A lot of my roster was purchased in that manner. Getting all of the single DD every day.

The way I figured it for certain characters that I insisted on leveling up immediately like Hulk and Mags that I could either spend 1000's on health packs and grind it out in a tourney or I could just simply pay for the cover upgrade.
  • I lost interest in the game until I saw the R48 change log. Now I am playing again, but I missed at least three refreshes.

And I will still place in the top 25.

    Thanks 5/3/5 level 117 Magneto! Cheers, level 100 Patch! I still hate you, level 85 4/5/4 Spider-Man!
  • Anyone with mag should be able clear the sub event faster compared other without it since mag is buff in this sub event
only got 3/2/0 mag with no powershot skill that can one shot them to clear fasster... damn sad icon_cry.gif
oh well as least i still can clear the event slowly and currently all #1 in main bracket as well as sub event... every1 seen stop moving.. perhaps due to latest update where revive took 50 minutes for IM40 this time since the last update this evening...
  • Why is everyone so focused on winning their subs? You get an extra Moonstone cover for your efforts. icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Top 10 is fine.

With every event I see less and less a reason for scaling to even exists. It seems to benefit no one in the end... it might sell more boosts/medpacks though.

If they want to have a fair system, just plan the missions right and don't scale them. Everybody will have the same chance at competing and progress further if they have a better roster or get lucky or are willing to use/buy boosts.
It does come across a bit like they don't know how hard or not their own game is. It appears anecdotally to benefit people who wouldn't get half way through easy mode, otherwise. We know from people on here it's already possible to have the hard sim kicking off in Oscorp Redux Mode with easy not appreciably far behind; info from people with barely touched alt accounts would help pin down just how low it goes. DU_Will's and IceIX's statements point to them wanting as many people able to play everything as possible. Maybe it's overcorrecting at the bottom or top end. If you're more tinfoil hat prone, maybe they've determined newer players are most likely to spend and are reacting intentionally to that - I wouldn't be so surprised. I doubt I'm the only account to've dumped cash on a pile of roster slots in the first weeks, but who hasn't much needed or wanted to spend on anything they sell since.

Surely a lot of the dissatisfaction stems from not knowing what it's scaling off or what other people are seeing? I've had it easy compared to many on this so far - my hard challenge node is at 200 now, but opened at only ~120, so I cleared it a few times while the getting was good. How can that be spun as fair to someone who didn't happen to be on at 05:00 my time, or who was faced from the outset with "lol over-capped Molotov every 2nd round, good luck"? I skipped a lot of first sub, which might explain the difference, but we don't really know. Looking at some of the highest-end and most difficulty-spanked players' reactions, I think they might have continued to underestimate the extent to which "possible" for people with a 141 or four to throw at it doesn't necessarily align with "entertaining". Who wants to slog through nothing but 10-minute hit-or-miss matches as a "reward" for some undisclosed metric deciding they've reached end game? This is probably exaggerated when sub-4*s are being allowed to scale to 230, because they're generally far stronger level for level the lower the rarity.

In the interests of having something constructive to say about Fun With Scaling III: owners of gimpy C.Magses might want to give Patch and Loki a go again; still works for quite a lot of this even unbuffed because he's twinned with MBW as the only (?) characters whose skills don't level scale at all. Hide him behind someone, anyone, who's strong on purple and black and be very afraid of AoE.

Edit: wait, Bag-Man doesn't scale either, does he?
  • So I have 3 "Highly Trained" tokens, but I'm not interested in several of the boosted characters. I thought I read something to the effect these reverting to regular heroic tokens once the event ends. Is that true? Should I just use them now or keep them for a while?

Is the rubber banding based off the main bracket or isolated to sub brackets?
I thought it was just sub brackets, but I'm starting to get the impression it scales off the main bracket.

They're supposed to turn into heroics when they're no longer valid. There have been reports of them turning into or being awarded as standards from this event, but if that does bite you a support ticket should get it corrected.
  • Cracked 50,000 progression and got my first and only yellow Patch. It's definitely saying something about the poorness of my roster when I fight Devil Dino and Hulk with non-buffed heroes only D: Although Loki even with a single purple cover can be freaking amazing and useful, if RNG is on your side...

Got the standard tokens myself. Already received a response from D3 support that they're working on it and plan to re-release the rewards today. So I presume that would fix everyone without the need to submit a ticket.

They should be based on sub bracket only, but it's based on the overall sub bracket leader, not just your sub bracket.
