See, I disagree w/ ya Puerto Rico. If people are hitting you for 1 point, it's because emotions are getting involved here. And if people are getting angry over losing points in legitimate retaliations, then that is. . . sad.
I got hit by that Crewsader when I was at 500ish on day 1. I could care less about losing points then. When people feel the need to cyber bully, that's wrong. Plain and simple.
Add: I have no interest in the cover at 1,000 points or 1,300 points. Lawyer is leading my bracket right now by over 500 points. So there's no way to leapfrog him for 1st place. I could care less about getting Jean Grey cover because I already got her colors off Hulk pve event.0 -

Let me emphasize my point. I was gangbanged for a retaliation made when i was soft climbing in mid 500s on day 1. There is NO SNIPING involved at all. The guy took offense because either: a) I was ABLE to retaliate on his max hb/ max buffed carnage defense with a low 150s ock and max cage, and felt humiliated, or b) he doesn't like to lose points under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. In either case, that reflects poorly on this guy's character.
I don't blame his alliance mates for answering the guy's request to hit me. They're just covering his back. I'm cool with it. However, I don't think it's appropriate for the guy to hit me 6x in 3 hours simply because I was willing and able to retaliate against his paid-for max carnage/hb defense. It makes the guy look real bad. That's all.0 -

Yes they are targeting you from a grudge you are correct about that, you are getting hit early in psylock pvp probably because you sniped someone in a different pvp. They don't forgive and forget just because the event or day of the week changes. Unlike those other top 10 alliances, the crewsaders will make sure that every event your in their shard they will make it difficult for you. Waving the white flag will and shield checking with them will back them off a bit.0 -

The team you use doesn't matter at all. Props to you for using that team. They see your ign and hit because that ign gave them a red node while hopping in a previous pvp.0 -

Nope. If they are going to be d-bags for some unknown offense, we don't have to cave to them. They have no power unless we give it to them. Placating a bully is the same as condoning the bully's actions...
I was asked to join my bully's chat to get them to back off and I told the messenger where they could stick it. I wouldn't want to be a part of a group that does that ****...0 -
Read through the threads and you people have got me curious.
How do i join these co operative rooms ?.
Can someone please add me:
LineID: maximus_p
Or find me on fb or pm me here on the forum.
I usually climb to 1k, put a shield up and move on with my life but reading posts here made me think "maybe i should try this".0 -

Lol not an unknown reason I clearly explained why. No hidden secret I blatantly explained puppy chow and crews cause and effect.0 -
I read through everything. I am now curious. Can someone please add me to a co operative room? Or are there rules to this as well .
My lineID: maximus_p
I usually just make 1k+ and shield then move on with my life. I would be interested to climb to 1300 if possible. Doing 1300 solo always seem impossible. After reading here i now know why
Thanks.0 -

I think you got it completely wrong. Pretty sure the guy was happy to see the red, it saves him ISO. No one gets offended that your small team beat their big teams.0 -
Wow, this is appalling to read. Maybe I should ask the developers to add a very visible black hat icon to their names, so when I am just innocently playing the game, just trying to get a few points without knowing all the intricate vendetta policies of this underworld, I will be warned so we can bend over and kiss the bejewelled hand proffered to us and slink away quickly to avoid the anger of these dons, lest that they send their thugs to kill my dog and set my small business on fire?
Disgusting.0 -
Maybe you shouldn't play PVP games?0

Stupid lame azz time slices makes the enforcer play possible. I know nobody wants to set their schedule around a game. However, everything is a trade off.
No time slices - end time not as convenient.
Time slices - hard to find targets at the top end, harder to hit progression since you can get hit more, alliances can gangup on you since you can get queued easier.
Rotating PvP end times or even just two time slices in PvP would make it such a better experience.0 -
Puerto Rico, I assume you have been talking to the crew on line, because you don't strike me as the type of person to presume to speak for others w/o checking with them.
So far I've been hit 23x by Crewsaders. My last shield break I attacked Phraeg, but his professor x managed to throw his pink tile on board and stretched my 2 minute push into a 4 minute push. So I wasn't surprised to see a bunch of crews popping up. My fault for not finishing the match faster.
If Crewsaders wanna to pursue a grudge against me, that's fine. But don't go around and paint yourself as punishing bullies because it's the reverse right now. Xmen were infamous because of the way they gangbanged people, and if Crewsaders choose to act like Xmen that's their right. Again, don't go paint yourselves as victims and insult people's intelligence.
As far as the gangbanging offenders are concerned, Viral hit me 6x on day 1, Misstique hit me 6x on day 2 (plus a bit past midnight on day 3), and Shamsali hit me 4x. These guys (and gal) are getting lumps of coal for xmas.
And Lawyer is the spy on me. He broke shield at 11.30 pm (and I politely avoided sniping him), then a second time at 12.40ish. Even though he didn't attack me directly, he's helping to coordinate the hits and therefore Lawyer also deserves a lump of coal for xmas.
As I said before, I have no interest in either first place or the 1300 cover. I already broke 1k and grabbed a cover I didn't need. I'm playing Fresh Cuts for the entertainment value. See you crew guys in a few hours!0 -

Methinks you take this game too seriously!!!
And you got the numbers wrong! I didn't hit you that many times, I'm certain of that!!! I was distracted by someone else! How can you make such assertions in public! *maligned*

Be a bully but at least have the freaking balls to own that you are doing something wrong, dude.
Besides, I've been playing PVP all this time, blissfully unaware of things like that going on. I must have been fortunate of not randomly crossing one of such alliances' goons yet. That doesn't impede me from expressing disgust when I hear about what happens to less fortunate people.0 -
Im sorry if i sounded like a jerk to some of you but what i told again is about high end pvp.. im talking about guys with strong enough rosters to be in top50 alliances.. Newbs/transitionners are invisible to us anyway the way mmr is set now.. This a world apart full of intricacies, dramas and subplots.. There are individual truces.. Multi battle chats.. Alliance truces.. Wars.. Etc.. The guys i'm hunting are repeated offenders.. Not random ppl that will hit one of us inadvertly on his way to 1k.. Enforcing is now part of the game.. Thats how it is.. Is it good? I dont know.. What i know is that it lets us protect our climbers by limiting the number of hits they could get.. As long as ppl feel entitled to hit ppl for 75 without consequence you ll have top teams that will take those points back.. Again high end pvp is a world apart..0

As one of the ones who created the crewsaders, but is playing casual for a short period, I know the crewsaders very well. I don't care if they hit you or not I'm simply explaining the reason on why they are hitting you. As franckynight said its a different world. If you hit them during hops, some will gladly stay low on points and enforce. Don't call me a bully or villain because I'm telling you how it is and trying to make you realize why you are being attacked.0 -
*Mod Mode ON* Just a friendly reminder that it is generally frowned upon to call out specific players by name as it may be considered flamebaiting. Also, things seem to be heating up a bit so I'm asking you all to try to keep this civil as best you can. It is an interesting and worthwhile discussion and I would rather not have to lock it due to personal quarrels. *Mod Mode OFF*Pylgrim wrote:pmorcs wrote:Maybe you shouldn't play PVP games?

Pylgrim, I don't think you are being fair. While I don't deny that some of the behavior described here sounds like bullying and coercion, the alliances I have encountered who engage in said practices have been open to communicating and even arguably helping the purported victim of these attacks. Similar to you, an alliance mate of mine was playing pVp blissfully unaware of this unwritten code until he happened to hit a few players in a major alliance during a hop and was being considered for their hit list. Fortunately, we have a good friend in that major alliance who explained the situation to both his alliance and my alliance, and my alliance mate decided to join their battle chat and was able to attain the points he wanted without having to step over other high end players and those players could safely shield hop.
Had he been obstinate and refused to participate, obviously things would not go well for either party. He would face constant bombardment and that alliance would have to waste time and resources keeping him down.
I understand for some players it sounds like more of hassle than it's worth but for me and my alliance mates we appreciate having an organized system of cooperation that minimizes retaliations and point loss and maximizes point gains.
Put more simply, a player has the right to refuse using battlechat and play as they wish but alliances also have the right to attack whoever they see fit. Neither is in the right or wrong. However, if your goal is to achieve a maximum amount of points for progression rewards while using a limited amount of resources and effort, the most reasonable action would be to communicate and cooperate with your peers rather than try to lone wolf it. Such is the current state of PvP.0 -
So pvp = players vs progression then.0

When playing PVP, I do try to avoid players and alliances I am familiar with, just because there are usually other targets out there. Familiar names means I'm taking points away from an acquaintance, while unfamiliar names means I'm taking points away from a stranger. Would rather do the latter than the former. If I'm hit by players / alliances that are familiar, I usually just save the retal node if I think they're worth the points. If not, clear the node and move on. I know that there's gonna be attacks in PVP, so I accept the fact and move on.
Since I only go for 1k and not 1.3k, I don't usually have to worry about hitting people on their hops, unless there is some really bad timing. I try to do my final push from the 400s/500s to 1 match away from 1k with under 11 hrs to go, so I would think that the people I am lining up are unshielded or climbing as well, meaning fair game. I try to hit teams that won't retaliate, so that does mean I end up hitting a lot of 2* teams and transitioners. If I do get retal'd against on the climb, I retal the retal if they're worth the points. If not, I clear the node and move on.
When I have used BCs, it's more to call out when people in my bracket are shielding/unshielding, so people can get good queues. I could probably hit 1300 if I used BCs, but it would also require doing more things I don't want to do, like using more HP for shields, and more importantly, leveling more of my characters past 140 so I'm not a bigger target. I try to shield 1 match away from 1k with a 3 hr, and usually check my leaderboard to try to get queues. People usually hop in groups, safety in numbers, reduces chance that they'll get hit if there are others hopping who might be the one to get hit. So when someone on my leaderboard breaks, I'm usually able to line them up, as well as others for the other 2 nodes. I try to have all 3 nodes with decent matches, so that I don't have to search for matches before I'm about to break, which also means that the matches I've queued, are likely to be shielded. By using my leaderboard for a queue, I can check shield status by myself, play the 1 match, shield til the end with an 8 hr.0
