  • I need help with Juggernaut-Mystique-Ares!

Heavy denial (Luke-Obw-Loki) sort of worked, with OBW stealing whenever Juggs was about to fire off. Eventually I got Juggs down and started on Ares. But about 20 minutes in I slipped and let Ares one-shot me, I think Mystique got him a bonus Green? Anyway, everything fell apart... and I need a strategy that doesn't require quite that much concentration and endurance.

    2* Magneto - 2* Marvel - 3* Hulk vs Witch - Thor - Rocket&Groot.

Spot the fatal flaw in this strategy. Answer below.

So this attempt at Sim-20 actually goes fairly well for a time. Witch never gets her purple off. Thor goes down after just one Thunder Strike and one Mjolnir's Might. I forget how Magneto fell, and Hulk succumbs to a bad cascade after Blammo! That leaves Marvel vs Groot, and Groot leads by about 2000 HP.

I use Marvel's yellow to TU boost and spend a Ballistic Salvo, putting me in the lead. I even saw Groot dip below 1000 HP and think, "Finally, I got this!"

Right after the Salvo, Groot's next match was?

    yellowflag.png

I watched his animation in horror, realizing what I'd done.

Strategic Command into I Am Groot.

Groot healed to full health. icon_eek.gif

I quit. I'm not wasting any more health packs beating them against this impassable wall.

Thank you for the purpleflag.pngicon_deadpool.png whales tips!

So.. ...I just did it. I dropped the whales. It was my first time & it felt so good.

It beat the last essential with Ultron, Shulk & Loki.

    Thank you guys!

I tried the same a you but my cage has no yellow so I'm just poking them and occasionally sending a punch. Not sure on your scaling but it's taking too long and you don't do enough damage. 40k health is a lot to poke.

Went with my usual team of StormNeto with Loki. Got a very lucky with match 5 green from the start and Jugs didn't want to headbutt after another monster cascadefrom the AI. Ares rampage the entire team to about 300hp, storm hit back for about 4.5k damage. Stun jugs and Ares, for good measure TU stun Mystique with 4Hor. They have been my go to team, a little squishy but given the chance they will clean up.

A decent covered Hood will do
    Now just the essentials.

Can somebody tell me which main nodes/essentials should I clear for blueflag.pngicon_blackpanther.png cover?
  • Help! Wiped 3x on node 38: Doom, Cyclops, KK. Any suggestions not involving 4* (the only one I have is XF)? I have whales but I want to save them for later on. Thanks.

Clear all the Global (sub 3) main nodes and the first set of essentials in Global

GSBW Lcap Hood, Cage (Punisher/Torch/Gamora) OBW, hell even beat it with LCap 3* Storm Loki.

Also beat it with Daken / Blade / Falcon even though Falcon died like turn 4 to mutant revolutionary -> optic blast.

Stuck on the final essential node against Ultron + Loki + She-Hulk. Any tip that does not involve whaling?

I did it with 192 LCap, 160 IW, 166 Hood VS 254/256/256 AI

    HB IF, Xforce 4hor, 5/3/5 PX GSBW or LCap + 5/5/2 IM40.

IM40 team is really bad, like a 5-10% win rate. Its nearly impossible to get a recharge off but if it does and you don't lose all your shields to cascades its possible.

Any strategies for Thoress, X-force and Nick Fury at level 360? Aside from Hood, Steve and...maybe Loki? That's what I've been doing so far and it's worked pretty well. Survivied the IF/X-Force/BP fight simply by stealing their black every turn.

I have something like 2 whales left and I'm saving one for the last node. I also need to do the essentials.

I'd like to not need it. There was no way I was going to do the previous level with Juggs, Ares and Mystique. 24,000 HP? Chance of him doing 8600 damage with just 6 red? Not happening. Thankfully the board had loads of purple when I started.

[Edit] Never mind...I did it on my first try. Steve, Loki and Hood (and the last two are only level 121). Thankfully there was enough red on the board to just spam steve's move. Plenty of blue to stun lock. Plenty of 4s that the enemy walked into. I don't think they even got a single move off, Steve got away losing about 4000 health and that was it.

    Tales From The Gauntlet

Facing the first essential of the last group -- Gorgon, Devil Dino, and Hulk. I've got Mystique (required), 2* Magneto, and 3* Cap (about lvl 142 unboosted). My plan is to use Mags' purple to boost into Cap's blue (and red hopefully), and once that gets going, use the Mystique purple/black combo to lay the smack down.

Well, the AI's first move creates a cascade that nets them 36 ap. Dino chomps on Cap, knocking him down to about half health. We go back and forth for a while, Gorgon assembles the Hand, I get enough red to take out one of those CD tiles, but I am *just short* of blue and/or purple. The other two Hand tiles take out Mystique.

I don't have much hope, but I keep going.

More rounds pass, Mags is hurting, but Cap's red cycles enough to take down Gorgon. Mags finally gets some purple, but the AI keeps falling into green and red. Mags heroically casts his purple and gets enough blue to start Cap's shield. I stun Hulk, then sacrifice Mags to the next Dino chomp. At this point, I have enough blue for just one stun at a time, so I keep Hulk stunned, figuring that his clap would probably destroy my CD and shield tiles.

So we battle, but for a while I have horrible matches available to me, but everytime I move, and green or red match falls from the sky for the AI. So Cap keep getting chomped. He goes down to under 800 hp, and I figure I'm done for, but I finally am able to get enough control of the board to deny them their colors while getting some more red and yellow. (I had reached a point in the cycle where the CD tile didn't return enough red to launch it again.) A few more rounds pass, Dino is about halfway down, and he gets enough ap for a chomp. Game over, right?

It only did 1 damage! I had gotten enough shields out to negate ALL of his attacks! I knew Hulk could still mess me up, so it was touch and go for that one turn between stuns, but DD went down eventually, then the Hulk did too. Cap was able to take down 40,000 worth of enemy hp, most of which when he was under 1000 himself. He really is the king of PVE.

Welcome to the club! (Of using Lcap to overcome tremendous odds).

My best experience with Lcap was also against Dino. It was a node which dino was paired with 2 green AP generating goons. Managed to take down those goons but also lost 2 characters. So it was Lcap against Dino, man against dinosaur.

I couldn't get enough blue to stun him, and couldn't deny him the green... My health was below 2000 and I know that I would be dead. Strangely, though I know I am dead, I decided to get stomped instead of quitting... The next turn dino chomped Lcap... But he survived with 16 health left! I manage to stun him a few more rounds and finally take down dino remaining 4k health.

    That was epic for me

OBW and Loki pulled it off with LCap as the front man.
LCap seems pretty well-suited to PvE!

I have one node left and no more whales. Suggestions on beating the mystique essential with hulkbuster/fist/hood?

It depends a bit on their level, and your roster. Assuming you have a reasonably developed 3* roster, and they're not overscaled to 395, the best option is to bring Hulk or Cap Marvel to generate AP off Fist's attack tile. If you don't have either, then Steve Loki with match damage boosts would also work. Hood first, then Fist. Don't let HB get into a black/red loop.

Thanks!! I used hulk/shehulk anger/charged them to death. Used her blue to steal fists tile twice and they dropped
  • Any suggestions for Punisher, CMags and Blade that doesn't involve a 4*? thanks a lot.

Wow. Only 118 people have completed the 3rd sub so far.

Well given fighting deadpool. 3Thor and hulkbuster, is my current bottleneck and I'm not finding a way past before Hulkbuster utterly destroys my team one after the other, and if it's not that thor is chain nuking my team down. Unless I get real lucky with a cascade I'm not seeing any progress past him... HOwever the only cascades I'm seeing are those on the side of the AI... like ten times already, refusing to spend any HP on stuff whilst the AI is going crazy with cascades, because its just a waste of HP on buffs otherwise

With the change in boosting, there are now 3 4* guys that can be run at, what, lvl350?

Has anyone got the max Starlord, IW, and Prof X team running? Just curious if that does any good when you are facing lvl395 opponents. It's not XF/HB/and 4hor, but from a pure level standpoint do they stand up at all?

IW sucks, Starlord is bad, I used PX to cheese 90% of the nodes. Starlord/Gamora/Groot was fun on a few levels but purple is his only really good skill.
