The math is fine. The problem is that the computer numbers in the background aren't whole, and are rounded to integers for display purposes. So you might have been on 597.7 rounded to 598, won 19.7 rounded to 20 and ended up with 607.4 rounded to 607.

Rounding may be a small part of it, but the more likely explanation is that NighteyesGrisu's opponent was smacked with attacks during the round they played, so although the game displayed a +20 pt. gain at the end of the match, when the server got pinged, the opponent's actual value was lower and so provided less than 20 points.

walkyourpath...I thought about that after I posted, the opponent value had dropped due to all of the other matches being played at the time. I think I will be sticking at 607 for this event, I'd like the IW cover, but I'm trying to grind for it and get knocked out of the top 15. I ended up with a moderately easy bracket, I don't appear to be in danger of falling any lower than the top 5.

My MMR is adequate like I said before, weird you can't get that into your head since you seem to stalk my posts in such an unhealthy manner. The game does not offer me overleveled opponents; not often; they target me first and not even always because I am such a 'juicy' target. I'm okay with it and can get a laugh out of it, unless they are being senseless about it and attack multiple times.
Also, there's no need for you to bash me and try to protect your pals or whatever reasoning you can sputter out, it just looks hilarious. An old timer feels the BURNING desire to show the novice where their proper place is. I won't say which part of your body is burning, but it is on fire so nice and hot, I feel warm here in frozen mountains.

guys, you aren't really discussing this tournament, so cease the forum wars please. this is why we need to have a friends and enemies list in game, so we can fight it out, MPQ-style!

I got attacked very little over night, Patch really is the #1 character in the game right now. He always kills at will so my winning on defense percentage is at it's highest. I was running Patch, Hulk, Spidey, but Only AOE guys truly trigger Hulk (since people avoid him and stun him) so i replaced him with OBW for very fast kills. Patch has become mainstream, even faster than the Hulk.

Xforce Wolverine needs a clean slate.

ugh, this is such a slog. been bouncing around 300-400 points over the past few hours. The top of my bracket is shielded at 608. I'm really tempted to just grind out a bit more and then throw up a shield, but the shields cost so much...

The defense aspect to this game is weird.

Yesterday, knowing the BTI tourney had a lot of time left and it doesn't mean much until the end, I decided to try to tank my rating. I wanted to be low ranked (but I knew it'd be in the same bracket) just so I could get some easy pvp fights for the ISO and I'd make my spidey-push later tonight.

So for my last pre-work fight, I took my three worst characters - 1 cover 3* heroes. I think Loki, IM40 and Punisher. Regardless, one cover and they should be ****, right? I know when I played them, they were worthless.

After work I come back about 11 hours later. Five people fought me.

Two lost to that ****, somehow.

A total of -30 points for the 3 losses + 2 wins.

You know what I noticed? The Thor rewards are as follows; the easiest to get is Red; then Red & Green; only then +Yellow. That corresponds to his current specs, where his yellow is the best one and green is slightly preferable to red. So, if we go further, Spidey rewards are first Purple, then Purple & Blue and the hardest is +Yellow. Does that possibly hint at Spidey's yellow becoming his most wanted skill? Just some late night wild mass guessing. That would probably be unfortunate to many people who invested in blue and purple.

I've been selling yellow Spideys at the last minute, desperately waiting for them to announce the funbalance and/or re-spec system. Would not be surprised if Spidey's yellow becomes his best max skill and they stop giving him out as tourney rewards.

When is the best time to use a shield in events like this guys? say i could only use a shield for an hour? is it better to use it now or wait until there is 2 hours left so i dont plummet down the rankings?

If you can only afford to shield once, it should be a) when your ranking is as high as you think it will go, ideally at the top of or one above the desired reward tier (e.g. you're ranking 3rd and you want to be in the 6-15 tier), and b) the shield will last you through the end of the tournament.

I can't think of another single-use scenario that wouldn't just be a waste of hero points.

I use shields to lock in a score to the end. If a decent score isn't on the cards I save my HP. But then I really hate the last 120 feeding frenzy.
