I got to about 930 with no retaliations, then a couple of 100-200 pt lurkers whacked me and put a big dent into the push for 1000. Opted to shield at about 870, would settle for a 2-5 finish right now, as I'll be in laa-laa land when this event finishes lol. Somehow got a 2-5 finish in the last PvP, with no shield and getting hit a ruck of times, so it'll be interesting to see if the shield yields the same result.

I'm less stressed by doing well in PvP these days, the system is too messed up for me to risk raising my blood pressure!

kinda feel helpless, sitting at 1 shielded, but just can't get over 10 point match ups no matter how much I skip, so won't be unshielding. It's interesting watching number 2 unshield get a few points, maybe get knocked for 40-50 in the 2-3 minutes he's open, and then instantly re-shield. It's literally a game of 10-20 points now, and costs hundreds of hp to compete (I guess worth it for the 2500hp cover?)

Ok that was beyond frustrating, broke my shield at 740 to try and chase down the 830 guy.

I blitzed my way to 800 from the 3 20+ point matchups I had lined up. Said okay two more matches and I can be in first and shield out. First match got to 820 no problem. Finish my 2nd match to take over first and come out to a -140.

-140 in the time that my all 100+ character fully boosted team took to finish one **** match.

The really frustrating part is I don't even want Patch. I'm only chasing the first place yellow IW because that's the only cover I don't have.

Boosts, homie.

Even when you're fighting a weak team, use those Match Damage or X-Men boosts that you probably haven't looked at in a week. They're just sitting there.

Any advice for me?

I'm currently 756 points in #1 for Army of One. The next closest to me is 478 and 456 respectively. Every time I've unshielded, I've been attacked, but been able to make some modest gains - anywhere 20-40 per unshield (despite losing 40-60).

Do you guys think I can ride it out shielded and take #1?

I basically que up 3 fights I think are worthwhile, then break my shield to attack - and then try to reshield asap, but the closer we get it seems too dangerous to unshield.

If you are that many points ahead, stay shielded you're going to take it

Not really pushing the ranking I can get into 2nd fairly easily (650ish) but I know he instant I try for first ill get mauled. I will keep up the dance to stay in the top 5, doing 1 match every half hour or so or hitting back valuable retals. May shield close to closing if necessary, I need the yellow cover to finish my patch. I would do a run for first if I didn't need that yellow, incurring mass retals isn't sustainable.

May try to push to 700+ under the 3 hour mark, if I am not retaliated against I will see how high I can go but very likely grats on your first place finish.

I wanted to progress to 900 but kept getting railed. How high are people getting? Of course when i used a 24h shield i only got hit once, which my guess is from a retaliation. Pug in my bag team too. Such a waste.

I was at 784, the 2nd one shielded at 684, but was trying to get the token at 800, one more match and put my shield up because I have no more health packs.

Well, that was 20 minutes ago, now I have 490 points at 12th place and surely going down right now. Bravo.

I am at 702 and shielded with 2nd at 643, I made sure I had enough of a lead that if 2nd unshielded I could fend them off...About an hour ago 3rd unshielded moved to 690 and then dropped out of the top 10, so it seems unshielding is very risky at this point...

I was sitting at around 620 points at #6 with 3 hour and 1 minute to go and then never recovered. Ended up shielding at like 530 or so.

Right now the dynamics really favor playing earlier and then shield at say 800. Of course if everyone did that then that'd no longer be a good strategy (because you wouldn't be able to hit 800 if everyone else was trying to hit 800 by playing early), so you have to try to somehow outmanuever the rest of the players.

Sitting in first at 827 with a couple of shielded lurkers right below me at 800 and 797...I'm sure theyre biding their time so my phone isn't leaving my side for the next 2 1/2 hours...does anyone build IW with 5 yellow? I have her at 3/0/2 right now.

Yeah. Have checked my bracket periodically and defectivechkn has made a run starting an hour or two ago and cracked top 5. But each time he gets around 710 he gets whacked back to 660 range and keeps plugging away. Hopefully noone else can crack 800 so I can keep 1st.

I'm in a very similar boat. I'm at #1 with 756 - 2 below me are 523/522. Everyone I'm watching climb is climbing and then getting blasted down like 3-5 spots.
I have seen 2 people attempt to climb and then completely fall off top 10.
