A telepath. A shapeshifter. This month is getting interesting…
Team-Up Improvements
-
- You can now send up to five Team-Ups to your Alliance members at a time (up from three).
- You can continue to play with characters even if you’ve sent them away as Team-Ups.
- When you earn a Team-Up from a PVE mission/Versus node, its power is raised to the average level of your four best characters.
-
- The max level of a Team-Up is limited to the max level that character could have if they were in your roster when scaled up.
- Team ups will never *scale down*. So an overlevelled Team-Up will stay overlevelled. It is only Team-Ups that scale up that are capped at rarity level max.
- If the average level of your four best characters is lower than the Team-Up’s original level, you’ll get the Team-Up at its original level.
- Starting Team-Ups updated for new players.
UI, Tweaks & Bug Fixes
-
- You can check how much cooldown time is left on your Shields while you’re shielded. Select the timer on your current Shield to do so.
- Mission rewards in Versus matches have been updated. The average Iso-8 earned per mission is unchanged, but there’s now a 250 Iso-8 reward, and the odds of character covers are reduced.
- Squashed some bugs that kept the display of "Time Left" in Events from showing up.
- The initial game install file is now a bit smaller.
- Re-added music missing from the previous patch.
- Roster Slot prices through slot 25 have been lowered and the first few weeks of Daily Rewards have been re-tuned.
- Covers in your Rewards cache now expire in 14 days (extended from 7 days).

I'm confused by how these three statements interact.
An alliance mate sends me a 270 4* Thor team-up. If I have a 4* Thor with only one cover, so capped at level 70 on my roster. My top 4 Characters are all 166.
Is the team-up then level 70, because my Thor is capped at 70?0 -
Overall, like the changes to team ups but equipping a random team up seems like a attempt to use some of our more valuable ones accidentally. I don't need one every match. Maybe a 4th team up only slot in the future?
I save those suckers for high need matches and don't want to accidentally burn my 395 call the storm because it was randomly equipped on a start of a PvP or something.0 -

Does this means all Lvl 395 Team-ups that I've collected from PVE will be reduced to Lvl 270 ?

Probably down to 270, 166, 140, 94, 50, or 40 depending on the rarity level of the character. This one is a little bit of a bummer for me. I've been at 25 Team-ups for a month or so since I never use them. But, part of the reason I don't use them is that I have some in there as trophies, all 395s. That's cool to me.0 -
So the roster slot prices through slot 25 have been adjusted, but not 26 and up -- does that mean there's going to be a big jump when you go to purchase that 26th slot?
Even so, thank you for doing SOMETHING about the issue, even if I'm still annoyed it won't reach me when it comes time to buy slot 52.0 -

Team-Up Improvements
- The max level of a Team-Up is limited to the max level that character could have if they were in your roster.
- When you enter a mission, any empty Team-Up/Boost slots are filled with random available Team-Ups from your inventory.
Most of these things do sound like improvements, but I don't think these two do.
Not that I do it (as stated I don't use Team-Ups, I collect them like trophies), but part of the reason to get big level 395 Team-Ups (often in The Gauntlet), is that they can then be used in future events to defeat other big bad opponents (again, often in The Gauntlet). If defeating a 395 level Thor doesn't offer even the opportunity to earn a level 395 Thor Team-Up, that seems like it is not an improvement.
Auto-filling with TUs seems like a way of pushing TUs even harder. As if not enough people are using them by some set of metrics and after lots of time was spent developing the feature, it's going unused. So here, have more of them. In your face. Whether you like it or not.
Maybe I'm wrong though and I'll start using some of my now weakened formerly 395 team-ups since they won't be cool trophies any more.0 -

I think this was intended to be read together, which is to say, if a TU's power level is increased, the max level is limited to the max level that character could have if they were in your roster."David wrote:Moore"]

And this was intended to be read separately, in other words, TU power levels will not be decreased below their original value.0 -

If your top 4 characters are 166s and you receive a 70 from PVE/PVP, you'll end up with a 166, (or a 94, or a 50, depending on the rarity of the character received).
If you receive an under-leveled character from an Alliance-mate, it will stay underlevelled. No free level ups!
Edit: Updated wording. I apologize, didn't separate out earning a TU from receiving from an Alliance mate, which makes things slightly different.0 -
Randomly filling Team Up slots is a welcome addition. There are certainly times where my team up slots get emptied because they match opposing characters and I don't think to refill them. Even if they aren't the ones I'd have chosen, it will be nice to have something there in an emergency.0

Updated the OP with clarifications on the Team-Up feature.0

I don't think so, because these rules are describing new team-ups being earned and how the level is determined. I don't think it will affect ones that you already have.0 -

Basically, if it's better than you could have gotten, it'll stay that way. If a newbie is gifting you a 5/5/3 cover level 34 Storm Classic, you're not stuck with thanking them then chucking it in the bin. It'll be a 94 instead.0 -

WOOOOOOOW! Most of that is FANTASTIC!!!!!

I recognize I'm in the minority here, but I think this change will cause me more problems than it solves. I usually feel comfortable handing MPQ to my daughter to play around for awhile. This just guarantees my level 395 TU collection will swiftly disappear when those blinkers start flashing.
Honestly this is a good set of updates. I like that 14 days and lower entry to the game in HP cost for slots.
We need more people to play (and then to pay) so I can continue to support my F2P addictions.0 -
Wait, so I can send alliance mates X-Force team ups and still be able to play with him? No delay, no wait, no nothing?0

Wow, lots of nice team-up changes here. Lots to take in. First question... to be clear, if I send a team-up to an alliance membe that hero will no longer be locked for me?
eta: I see that was asked and answered above. Wow!0 -
Ok, so i like the fact that my roster is still playable after i send teamups, but now because of this, everybody will have more dangerous teamups....Was this necessary...??? Didn't D3 had better things to fix in this game, come on man.... ?!?!?0
