Anyone who made the top ten care to share the team combos you used to get there?

I was waiting at the start line at 6:00pm eastern on Saturday night, and there was a brief minute or so delay with a "connection to shield server" message before I could start, but I used the Stormneto+Hawkeye combo (my highest level is 94, so this team was perfect for my personal scaling)and blitzed through the first sub and never found myself better then approximately top 100.

The whole sub probably took 25-30 minutes (although to be fair, I eased off the gas at the end when I checked scores with a few nodes left at the end and realized top ten were finished. The second two subs I have taken my time with, and quite frankly, really enjoyed a lot more then that initial panic-because-there-is-no-purple time attack!

I used Magneto-Hawkeye-Storm for it, but I had a slightly lucky board (first turn match-5, even on black, let me kill Loki on turn 3). Area-Black Widow-(anyone you have had good luck with who won't tank more than one color from OBW--assuming you have five black covers for her) would probably work as well. Killing Loki ASAP is the only real strategy I have to offer, unfortunately. I tend to stun She-Hulk with Wind Storm to avoid here annoying green power, but you'll have to see what the situation with AP/health to see what's best. I didn't boost, but boosting Storm-Magneto should let you wipe Loki pretty reliably.

I've finished 1-42, but haven't done any essentials yet. I was curious if doing the essentials in Wilderness Survival and Alpine Tactics now will raise the npcs levels in Global Domination? Anyone know if it's across all three or specific to each node?

MagStorm. Make sure to stun Loki. Boost green if you have to for a lightning Storm. Gamora doesn't matter. Don't let She-Hulk red if possible.

It's been done both ways. I think a major error is that A) there was no prior communication about when the 'start' was and After that you have to wait for 10k people to join in order for the race to be fair. Unless you could play through all 3 nodes as soon as they opened, most likely you're just shooting in the dark. They're going to have to add(wait for it) time slots to the gauntlet if they'd like to continue like this.

I don't see the big deal about team ups. Should we ban MAX-Whales too? Personally, I already save my best and brightest for Gauntlet.

Someone said Blade/4*Thor/XForce, 9/10 top 10 people have X-Force so yeah. Since you're 2* MagStorm is better than many, many things.

Finally made it through Sim 25 with Magneto-Hawkeye-Storm, but took many tries to get a good board. Thank you all for the help!

That Essential 18 with 4tho/loi/cage was a beast.

Thank goodness for extremely favorable board on the 4th or 5th try. Lcap/Hood/loaner punisher.

Current vet bracket for the second sub is at 8874. It will probably fill in the next few hours.

I did take 9th. I deliberated on buying health packs, 5 for 200 HP??????!!!!!!! I wiped on my 2nd to last node, an Essential. 11 had already skipped 10 at that point, and I probably would've really regretted if I was stingy with my 6100 HP bank, and missed top 10 because I wanted to save 200 HP. Bit the bullet and bought the healthpacks. Went back in the 2nd to last node, and took no damage. Took on the last node, took some damage, but finished 9th. Had 2 healthpacks to go into PVP, which I chose slice 5 for. So I'm getting a 10 pk, after finishing 16th in the first sub. Hoping it's an all 3* 10 pack, but expecting it to be a regular 10 pack. I hope it's a pleasant surprise, I could use 10 3*s.

Also, people are totally justified in getting mad over this because they didn't address it for 3-4 days when its a speed race. Cmon D3.

Uh... they didn't address it for 2 days (okay, 2 days plus 9 hours), and when they did it was on the first business day after the event appeared. It should have been noticed in testing, but they responded as fast as I would expect them to for the situation.

So u have open up the 10 pack? Is it all 10 gold cover or just a normal 10 pack like the season

It's a standard 10-pack of Gauntlet covers. IceIX confirmed in the main discussion forum that the three stars were a typo in the item listing, not a deliberate choice, and they fixed it as soon as they reasonably could (given the time needed to write up and test a daily hotfix). I'm okay with that. Not thrilled, but it's pretty much the best response I can expect in terms of error correction.

Any recommendation on Alpine Tactics Essential 11?

Facing the Sentry/BP/CMags node, using Lazy Thor/Deadpool/CStorm:

I get Mags down first, then Panther, although my DP is pretty low (with only around 12 purple dang it) and the other two have about half of their max health. Sentry has gotten off a World Rupture with two BP strike tiles out, and I knew I was done for. Sure enough, DP goes down on the first rupture. Storm survives the first one and lets off her max retaliation, but goes down on the second one. Thor takes another couple of hits, but eventually crumbles.

But Sentry isn't done, of course. His ruptures keep going off, damaging himself. He's pretty low at this point, and I think he might actually knock himself out. Which would give me the win, since ties go to the attacker, right?

I watch his HP drop lower and lower and when the last one goes off... HE'S LEFT WITH ONE FREAKING HIT POINT!!!! ONE!!!!! I couldn't believe it!

The irony is, if I had matched away one fewer of his CD tiles, he would've KO'd himself.
