Dreading going into node 36 with Groot, Blade and 4Thor. Is there a list of "These are the best nodes to throw whales at?" Does the final node have Deadpool? How about the final set of essentials? My Daredevil, Punisher and Hood are all undercovered and completely unleveled so I'm dreading those.0

I wish. I've tried to point out any trouble nodes I've had, but everyone else has been quiet. Normally that would mean they're out there having fun on the weekend, but cmon - these are MPQ players we're talking about.

That's the toughest one I've run into so far. Took down blade first, and brought loki in case the strike tiles got out of hand - they didn't, but I had some early cascades that helped.0 -
Sim 35 my MagStorm was down after 1 try - too many big bodies that do a metric ton of dmg.
Lucked out with 3*Steve/Hulk/Punisher - kept Thor stunned if possible since he's so dangerous, Punisher was able to counter battleplan but died to a Unibeam Team-up(go figure). Went Thor > BP > Psylocke.
Conked out on 36 - MagStorm was dead and 4*Thor was 4*Thoring. Managed to down 4*Thor with a suicidal amount of Berserker rages followed by Patch , groot mopped me up. I've got 4 KO whales saved up - this might be one of them.0 -

Sub 36 and 42 seem to be the hardest (42 has 3* thor, 4* wolverine, and fury). Luckily, both deadpool and the mystique/mags combo are available for either one.
Edit: essential 18 could be tricky too - cage/4* thor/ loki. You are required to use punisher - mystique/mags worked for me, but if you don't finish loki off in one turn it could be very difficult.0 -

Go DD / Wolvie / Daken.
Spidey is actually your best friend. If he uses All Tied Up, it means that Mags can't nuke you. With your team, best bet is to focus Red, then Green, then Blue. Ignore Spidey's Purple - if you get enough Red, Wolvie can slice right through it. Hold your greens until you have enough Red to maximize Strike Tiles, then play be ear. If you have Mags weak enough, then you can use Wolvie's Green + Daken's Blue to take him down. If he still has a lot of HP, save up for Adamantium Slash. Once Mags is down, they really have no offensive skills, and you should be able to pick them off at your leisure.
Thanks for replying. I got it by going wolvie and Daken and OBW with red/yellow and all ap boosts. Got some lucky cascades and crits so I managed to wipe out falcon fast without abilities and then it was easy enough to nuke down mags.
Devil Dino and Co weren't too bad, now the issue is Sentry, Dead pool, 3 Daken. Almost had it then I buggered up and nuked down Daken instead of sentry. Got supernova'd and cried .0 -

Sentry/Deadpool/3*Daken....Hm. For this I'd recommend MagStorm if you can, their HP is pretty low(besides Sentry). Hm. Even though Sentry really, really sucks now that's a tough node. If you have fast damage, I'd try to take out Daken(but remember to switch to deadpool so as not to activate deadpool's passive), but that's only IF you have fast damage. Otherwise he'll just heal what you do to him. The key here is you need to watch their AP(or steal it) because of Whales, Chemical Reaction and Sentry's stuff. The most dangerous thing about Sentry is A) Sacrifice and Staying alive too long. So if possible, you should have some way to neutralize strike tiles/board shake for Sentry/Daken(but mostly for Sentry).
I haven't personally gotten to this node yet, so I can't say for sure how it's gonna work out.0 -
Ugh, 36 is so hard. Particularly because blade is my only 3* that is maxed, or even higher than level 104.0

So my new best friends are StormNeto and Hulk. Hulk tanks and generates green, which Storm uses to generate...everything. Once you have enough of her green, you can shake the board until you get enough blue and purple to put everybody under. That team got me from 36-41 and with 4 health packs. I just dropped whales on 42. Now letting me health packs regen so I can take on the essentials. Squirrel Girl and Luke Cage are BRUTAL by the way. Cage's red means you have to focus on him and you get NO match damage until he's gone. Squirrel Girl you just have to hope she doesn't drop her purple, because it's a 1-hit KO with anything on the board.0

It looks like I might be living vicariously through some of you guys with these later nodes, I barely limped out of Torch/Groot/Ms. Marvel in the 2nd gauntlet on my 3rd try, and that was only due to Raging Tempest and Speed Shot...yikes...0

The easy sub I'm in is still only up to 8660, and I'm going to bed. Guessing it'll fill overnight, probably at least another 2-3 hours.0

Daken/SG/BP node (1st Daredevil essential) sucks. I was doing fine, minding my own business, took down SG quick and Daken was a shield to the face away from death, when the computer got a heavenly cascade, covered the board in strike tiles and . 2 RotP later, I wiped. Boo! Boo I say!0

That's exactly the node I'm stuck on. I just started this game less than 2 months ago so of course I'm gonna have an immature roster, and I decided to keep as many 3* as I get so I'll always have the essential required for Story. So far it's been a strategy that's worked out pretty well cause I've been able to place top 5 in 3 out of the last 4 Story events (with a brutal schedule of waking up every 2-3 hours to play). I slipped to 9th in the Star Lord event cause I took an entire day and a half off to enjoy the Super Bowl, which was worth it cause that game was **** great.
This Gauntlet format is so different from the standard Story event structure though, basically designed to simulate Versus, that my decision to keep a wide variety of low covered 3* over stronger 2* has come back to bite me in the ****.
So basically I have a bunch of 1/0/0 - 2/0/0 - 2/2/2 at best lvl 40-70 characters. For "scaling" the Gauntlet all they do is try to match levels, but they didn't do anything to adjust power rank. So even though a level 69 Rocket & Groot, Torch, Ms. Marvel team are about the same level as my characters, 5/5/3 or 5/4/4 makes them take watery dumps all over my level 70ish 2/2/1 characters, even my 160 boosted Daredevil is zero help. Rocket & Groot just went from 700 hp to over 4K (full health) off a single yellow match thanks to having 4-5 points into his passive. Unibeam team-ups all day long. It's comical.0
