what Mawtful said. IceIX confirmed this to be a fake. Especially since several characters have been released since Colossus and Beast. None of which fit the other 2 images.

Any speculation about which 5 or 6 characters have been scrapped? I saw an interview once where they clearly hinted both Colossus and Dr. Strange, but we only got Colossus. Iron Patriot is in some sort of limbo, if not scrapped.

Any other good guesses from interviews (or old abandoned code?)

Abandoned: IM variant, Magneto variant, Dark Elves minions. ( I guess both variants 2* )

Shame about the elves as I think Malekith or Kurse would have been suitable as a "boss" character that the player does not get to use.

We have a 2* Mags already - I'd guess he was 1* or 4*, unless they were getting ready to double up character versions.

I'm guessing Dr. Strange is getting held back for the movie, which is next year, right?

Looks like Gambit's getting more votes as we speak. I'm just wondering if these results will really have an effect on which characters should be put in place. Well it's up to the devs! Hoping to have a wider character set from the different story lines we have from marvel.

As you see, the Devs gave into (per ranking):

This gets exciting as Cyclops (3rd most requested) has been developed and given out. When are we going to see Gambit, Phoenix and the others? More so, are there any scrapped/delayed planned characters?

As you can see, some families/genres are more covered from a lore standpoint than others, and there is a significant void of villians that are not tied to the original Dark Reign narrative that the game was built on. We are a distance away from the original launch, so while i do believe they may still release some fresh material for the Dark Reign aspects of the game, we're going to see releases in the future that flesh out some of the under represented families from a lore standpoint, especially those that coincide with pop culture events (movies, tv, Cons) to take advantage of the free marketing.

Intersecting lore and popularity (under the above context) would help the chances of us seeing some of the following characters soon (all of which are high on the popularity list):

Scarlet Witch (clue: color in name)
Mr. Fantastic
Winter Soldier (clue: possible sharpshooter?)

Ah thanks, I did see Medusa in your cosmic section, but I missed Blackbolt. I do agree they are the 2 most likely to be included. I guess the real question will be is how much they expand Inhumans for Agents of Shield/Movie since there seems to be a synergy lately between the marvel media and characters we are seeing in game.
