Sounds like you're in the sweet spot for rosters. The last 4 daken nodes aren't worth playing (all are 230 - 270) and you will take 600-1000 a turn in match damage. Worldrunner stated his nodes were at around 210 at the start of the event, those 270 X Forces and Furies are really pulling their weight this event.
Learned to not level my characters too high just in time. Don't have enough covers or right characters to compete in PVP for more than Top 100, so not gonna handicap myself in PVE, by leveling my characters just because I can. No 3*s above 104, but if I hadn't leveled Sentry to that before I knew, I'd have my 3*s a lot lower than that, maybe all 94s, to keep in line with my 2*s. 8 3 /4 *s at 104, 3 3 *s at 102.0 -

So this dude is 2nd in my bracket at 54k right now. How the hell is he at that score if he only has BP available for this event? Is it even possible to do nodes like this?0 -
Interesting. My two left most nodes have fallen 10-15 levels. Are people tanking them or something?0

I'm jumping about 12K every rotation right now. I'm currently in 67 with 24K. Not sure how much I want to push for top 10, especially since they're all around 45K right now. How willing should I be to sacrifice sleep for this?0

I'm seeing a lead of 10K between #1 and #10 (~50K to ~40K) but 10K is only worth for 3-4 cycles worth of points which is about half a day of inactivity. Yes the difficulty is hard enough that even hitting the area minus lower right is hard, but it's definitely doable so don't expect a lead to hold for long.

Weird, the highest node I have is 220 or so on the last Daken node and I think they're like 180 at the start and I know my scaling started out considerably higher than Worldrunner on The Gauntlet, though I have barely touched the bottom right this time around so he could have a lot higher personal scaling this event. I'm trading #1 on a regular basis but I don't need Nick Fury so I see no reason to take chances and I'm only hitting the bottom right when I go on a real lucky streak elsewhere so that I have extra health packs to burn.
I wish they can at least put up a scaling modifier, like a readout that could say:
Roster (+55 levels/+80% levels (depending how scaling actually works)
Community (+60 levels/+100% levels)
Personal (+100 levels/+125% levels)
It's just hard to even make suggestions on how to fix it when nobody can really even figure out why accounts for the differences.0 -
TazFTW wrote:Interesting. My two left most nodes have fallen 10-15 levels. Are people tanking them or something?
It's almost impossible for the community to coordinate an effort as massive as tanking any node particular. Usually what happens is people are indeed just getting plowed by the nodes. I noticed the essentials seem to be going down and it'd hardly be surprising looking at who you've to fight there. The bottom right is still going up, so for some reason people are having more success than the essentials?0 -

Getting to #50 is nothing like getting to top 10. In all likelihood you won't come close to getting to top 10 because at the 45K range you'd be getting 2-3K per cycle. This event is actually pretty nasty because finishing #150 and #21 is roughly the same so don't have too much expectations to push past #20 unless you have a very strong finish.0 -

Try to monitor your Top 10. If they are all climbing at the same rate, they are actively playing, and you might not be able to squeeze your way in there. There is only 30 hrs left in the event, so it'd only be one night's worth of sleep you'd have disrupted. Good luck.TazFTW wrote:Interesting. My two left most nodes have fallen 10-15 levels. I think the easier nodes get easier as the event goes along, and the harder ones get harder. Don't quote me on that, but I have noticed that trend. Hard nodes turn Deadly, not sure if I can recall Easy nodes turning Trivial.0 -

If you don't even have a character available to form a 3 man team the game will let you get away with less than 3, just like how your team used to consist of just IM35 back when you started your first mission. Given this is a typical 'major boosted character goes 1on3', it might be advantageous to have just BP because you don't have to waste health packs on guys who will likely have a minimal contribution and eat up health packs whenever a Rampage/Rocket/Flamethrower goes off.0 -

Well, if you figure, my first cycle netted me 10k. My second 14K. There was a solid 8 hour gap where I wasn't home/playing, so I probably would be closer to 60K if I hadn't done real life stuff for most of the day. #1 is sitting at around 45K. I'm guess I'm in a semi-casual bracket with a few people at the top who are simply playing a little more than others. I'll see where everything sits when I get home (again) later tonight. If it looks like I have a chance at making a break for it, I'll stay up for 2 more cycles tonight. If not, Top 150 doesn't look like it's going to be too difficult in this bracket.0 -

Still quite insane considering he has 2 covers in yellow only. I'm not grinding or anything in this event and still making top 10 quite easy (pretty low level nodes, did bad in the hunt must be some kind of pve mmr thing or something) but there is no way i could have done it with only a BP, not even half the points.0 -

Gorezilla of NovaCorps (currently 2nd place alliance), doesn't even have a Black Panther. 1/1/4 lvl 41 Wolverine, 0/0/1 lvl 40 Colossus, 0/1/0 lvl 15 Magneto, 54,541 points. I can see people scoring high due having low level roster, so scaling is not an issue, but to get a score that high without the Essential character is impressive.0 -

I've been trading #1 back and forth while skipping the bottom right and since the 4 hard nodes roughly has the same points as the 3 essentials on upper right, I can certainly see being able to do these nodes due to favorable scaling to be enough. Remember Daken is not quite as strong before he gets 5/5/5 and when you've very low scaling he will not have 5/5/5 even on the hard nodes.0 -
This the best PVE ever, and by the best, I mean the worst. It's not a fun pve, but it will memorable on a TAT level.0

Just joined, and with a maxed 110 and 80 (because let's be honest, 1 stars and a 45 aren't going to pull much weight against the level of opponnents I'm scaled to due to my 166 ) I wasn't able to do a full first clear before going through my 5 plus the 1 I earned for progression. Everyone is dead. They're all dead Dave.
It's a shame, I really wanted to know who that clown was.
This is brutal, and sort of the opposite of the fun that most other PvEs can be.0 -
I was thinking it'd help a lot if you get a free attempt on the lower right nodes say once every couple hours or so. A challenge is normally a good thing but you just can't justify putting 3 health packs at risk in a tight bracket and you need to be incredibly lucky and/or using a ton of boosts to even have 3 health packs left after you're done with all but the lower right. Even the left side of the map can knock out a guy or two if you get unlucky, and I've certainly had a lot of games on the essentials where you lose 3 guys to all sorts of crazy combos.0

Oh, I certainly understand that. I did a full clear minus the clown node and ended up with over 20k points. I realize there is a trade-off for starting later, but at the same time, had I started early, I would be facing levels at least at that level, but likely higher since my personal scaling might push up the community scaling even higher.
Scaling is just atrocious and with the non-synergistic limited roster many of the matches become a coin flip - can you gather 9 and 12 before you die? There's very little strategy or choices to make.0 -

It is so damn incredibly hard to fire off any ability here other than Wolverine's green tickle without a 5 match to start the game. I'm getting boxed out of the final 5 nodes (completely ignoring the hood one) due to how broken a character like Daken is when he scales out of control. Think how easy it would be to kill a level 300 BP with a 250 Jugg and 200 Daken. If Yelena gets off a payback mission I'm more than likely losing a character due to how hard the criticals scale.0
