I think a combo of patch and cstorm would be good.. Zerker rage followed by windstorm should clean most enemy teams icon_e_biggrin.gif

Now if only scaling would be a nice boy and don't go too high.. icon_e_biggrin.gif
I hope you haven't joined yet, we need to be in the same lazy bracket again! icon_lol.gif
How lazy were you going to be? Skip 90% of the whole event or just entering the first sub super late?
First sub super late, want to contribute a bit to alliance score.
Then second super late too, and last hour if I can be bothered to get up.

That's what I exactly plan to do as well LOL icon_e_biggrin.gif maybe we will see each other in the bracketfield after all..

It looks like a lot of people are being lazy this event except for the AI? I just did my essential nodes, real quick but then I hit a main node on easy and got team wiped on the first turn? I got one red match of 3 then the AI miracle cascaded me to a team wipe on easy. What the tinykitty is that? *sigh* this game plays WAY too much calvinball........

Then I might just be slightly less lazy to avoid you both icon_e_biggrin.gif

Was thinking the same thing - maybe 10 hours out will avoid the 1 hour out crowd? Usually it's fine to have some of these guys (bowgentle, etc) cause everyone else will be really lazy too.

edit: was trying to make it short and sweet but reading it over it looks a little awkward - basically that last part is just meant to say that having some heavy hitters in your bracket by joining at the last minute isn't necessarily bad since most everyone else will be in the "too lazy to care" mode. So your overall effort needed to top 10 or 20 will be usually less (unless you get more than 10 or 20 of these heavy hitter types). Joining early might avoid the crazy efficient heavy hitters that join last minute, but you're still likely to have at least a couple of these type of guys, and on top of that you'll have far more "regular" players who are willing to grind out high scores than you are going to have by joining at the end.

I'm just going to go for the 1 hour crowd because I don't really care about placement. In fact, I kind of want to just deliberately tank my placement to see if that helps sharding at all

do you mean scaling? Gotta lower that scaling as much as possible for the ultimate grindfest upcoming that will be Deadpool vs. MPQ. Can't wait to see what rules they pick for Calvinball, and whether we'll actually know all the rules on day 1 or have to wait for the M Night Shyamalan last minute twist.

    I see Dead(pool) people.

Okay, that was really bad, and I feel bad. icon_redface.gif
  • Well I see some names trying in my main bracket - Morgh, 00001noob00001. I not sure how I going to do the subs yet. If you go the "just" win route a with only 8 characters and 5 health packs it means you can do 4 or 5 nodes a sub every 3 hours which might just be workable. Only problem is the essentials are lvl 70 ish and Captain marvel buffed to 145 means I really going to have to try losing those ones.

Umm - I'm only aiming at top 5 placement in subs icon_e_wink.gif the problem is - the main bracket seems kinda lazy so I get thrown up top too ;-P

I've been dropped in the same bracket despite only starting 30 minutes ago icon_e_sad.gif

At least one pass put me straight into the top 50, about 7K behind Morgh so I might be able to make up the difference by the end. Or at least enough to get me a decent set of Hood covers anyway.

Whoa, lazy sub bracket. The leaders are at 14k currently while my main leader has some 24k. I don't care about my own placement though; want some sub prizes (hi, HailMary!), a top 100 for the alliance, and that's all. Tokens are pretty much awful though and we are getting a guaranteed Marvel at 1100 points next in her own PvP. Glad that 100 HP in subs are back.

I tried to solo with Patch against level 110 Venom/Juggs/Daken, taking Hawk and IM as wingmen instead of trusty oBW and Falcon. Bad idea! Patch barely survived (bad board much...), not to mention the one-star wingmen.

The sub leader only have 14K because the sub started 90 minutes ago. Even then they would have had to hit some nodes more than once to get that score.

Poor choice. Falcon is definitely the best at being a wingman.

I also now see a Polarity in the top 20 and vudu3 in the top 10. Somehow after doing a couple of refreshes I am just outside the top 20. If I wake up early tomorrow - way to hot more my liking in the UK at the moment - I do the final refresh, if not does not matter.

My alternate account was lucky enough to finish #194 in Unstable ISO-8 and getting a Captain Marvel meant I could play the essential nodes here, and my puny roster of 1/1/1 OBW and Max IM35 are nuking them, 20k points (and another OBW cover) already with no real effort.

It's a lesson for the newbie to target events with new characters, they are a serious leg up.

I already said 'trusty Falcon' icon_razz.gif Mine is leveled enough to have some hitpoints but Patch still tanks yellow and oBW still has Espionage on blue and purple.
And yes, I will only probably solo Patch against goon-only nodes that won't kill him if he has no support... Someone still has to take damage, so might as well be him.

And now that we're all in one bracket (including at least two more Thunderkittens that I'm aware of) - ME NEED HOOD MOAR!
