Made an account simply to complain about this poorly thought out change.

Been playing for a month and man was it fun. Was being the operative word. I've dropped more than I expected for a F2P game. Way more. I'm simply gonna slowly walk away from the game, unless this change gets reversed or made more palatable.

I did use OBW as my main healer to help keep my groups running between various events. Now, I only have 1 LVL 80, and a small handful in the 50's. Its just too long of a healing cooldown and wait for me to really have any interest in playing this game. The problem for me is the forced cooldown after matches to "recuperate" from the injuries. Fix that in not such a money grabbing way.

Yeah, I can see that OBW was overly used. But look at the reason why (so folks can keep playing). If the reason is a simple money grab...not a smart move since you've obviously alienated a large part of your player base now. Fix the forced cooldown issue. Simple enough. Maybe increase the healing rate, make health packs cost like 100 ISO.

You do want people playing your games right?
  • I'm finding that I"m now paranoid about taking damage. Got up to 210 in LRs off seed teams - with Battle Angel still left - and just stopped. Decided the token(s?) just wasn't going to be worth it. There's going to be a new normal eventually, but expect ultra-cautious play to be the norm for a while. Or people wiping out their rosters and fuming.
  • Come on guys! Let's vote this app 1 (of 5) star in the AppStore (Or the android store). If you have allready reviewed it just change it.
(Till they put the healing system back)

Good idea vote it down until they change it back.
  • I wish they would of implemented this AFTER they fixed the crash issue....

There is nothing worst then your game crashing during a match and so you heros are either down to 50% health or worst dead due to the game being unstable and no way to heal...

so developers.... how are you going to compensate the masses due to your game being unstable and hurting people from even being able to play the game?

One change I'm noticing today is that in Hollowpoint Kiss I haven't been retaliated against yet (I'm just running a 2* team against other 2* teams). Is anyone else seeing this? I'm wondering if this change is making players just skip more tough teams to look for the more tender morsels hiding in their queues? Because without the healing it is foolish to take any risks because the cost of getting wiped is now very high.

I expect LRs dry up pretty fast beyond the seed teams and those who go on will be almost pure patch/daken teams first, then only the hardcorest grinders remain. who are happy to play the same over and over and over.

Bummer. Remnd you the first rule of the fight club is you don't hind evil ideas to D3 even as a joke.

By any chance didn't you suggest them to treat AP in relaxed way for the AI so it can sometimes steal a few points from you or shoot abilities with small discount?

Or bump some selected players pvp scores to 2000 just for the fun of it?

    A couple more observations:

cStorm's Yellow is now a bit more intimidating. It might make a 3/5/5 build worth considering.
I'm seeing a number of Ares/Juggernaut teams cropping up in Hollowpoint Kiss. Who really wants to take 1100 damage from 6 Red or 1200 from 6 Green? A lot more 2* Daken's in there now.
Call the Storm (2* version) used to be annoying and occasionally painful. Now it is devastating. cStorm's Wind Storm as well.
I still see an awful lot of OBW in Lightning Rounds.

So, interestingly, this change, while reducing my ability to play and hugely reducing my fun, does make opposing teams feel a lot more like Superheroes and Supervillains instead of punching bags.
  • So this went from discussion to in-game reality awful fast. And if a massive hate thread for the idea wasn't enough...they did it in the middle of several events.

True healing was designed to create diversity in playstyle? Oh I see what you really meant to say was you wanted to see more daken(x2)/wolverine (x3) teams playing since they are now effectively the only team that can play for more than 20 minutes at a time. Thats not diversity either.
  • at least juggs in pvp is bound to 40 unlike in pve right next door...

This early diversity will evaporate soon as people switch to patch/LazyDaken and skips will go the same way.
  • I am unhappy with the new "True Healing" "Feature". I will now be playing the game much less and this may be the "feature" that brings me to quit. Rating in the App Store DOWN.
  • This "true healing" is another way of pushing people to play on mobile. I can't play on PC because I run out of healthpacks in a normal gaming session. This is a change for the worse.

In alternative I would propose a 1200 HP reduction on OBW to be a better risk-vs-reward issue and allow for some variations in team assortments. Currently by only allowing her to heal in match is a subtle money play so that PC players like me dump money in health packs.

I never healed in the prologue, I always used OBW in PVP matches to avoid being killed by other OBWs.
  • Good thing Hearthstone is coming to iPhone soon. I'll need something new to play now that MPQ has been ruined by greed. Something from a dev that respects their fanbase. It was a fun ride, and I'm sad to see it end. If they really don't see that this move destroys the free player base and thus the environment that attracts the whales, I don't know what to say.
  • Just gave it a whirl to see teh change for myself...my lvl 61 OBW lost about 70% of her health in a match. 1HR and 10 min healing downtime. Yeah not cool. Yeah, I'm quitting till this gets fixed....this coming from one of your "whales".
  • As with just about everyone else in this thread, I'm pretty annoyed by this change so far. I've found it much harder to continue playing today since the change took place than in days past. One of IceIX's purposes for this change was to attempt to create more character variety. So most of my points are regarding that concern. Before I continue I should note the hypocrisy of making this change during a heroics event where we are quite literally forced to only use a certain set of heroes. I'm attempting to be constructive here as I don't believe simple complaints are actually viewed or addressed. I have a few points to make regarding this change that I hope some will find helpful.

-I'm currently in the 2-3* roster transition. So if i see a reward I'm interested in (progression or event end) I want to use the team that gives me the best chance of getting that reward. Prologue healing (while not necessarily as interesting)allowed me to do this much better. Variety does add to the continued interest in a game, but if I'm playing to win something and I'm holding a handful of aces I don't want to shuffle just for funsies.
-Let's say it is the last hour of an event and I want to make a push for a better reward. I cannot rely on a shield to do that so I put together my team and go for it. But uh oh an unlucky cascade. No big deal, it happens. So I use my health kits to not waste time. Now if I get hit with another cascade I start to run into trouble. I either have to buy healthkits or let the passive regen take affect and hope it is enough to make another run before the event ends. Prologue healing was a great option here. With that I had the option to trade any points I lose during the few minutes it takes to heal there (or waste the HP for a few minutes shielded).
-I'm glad to have buffed characters in events. It allows me to try characters I either don't have or don't have covers for yet. This does however come with a drawback regarding IceIX's variety concern. By forcing a buffed character players are forced to work around that character simply because some heroes will synergize better with a given character than others. This is true with any game that has options for builds or loadouts.
-On the same note you'll see the variety you're looking for if you use the SHIELD simulator. The ability to choose all 3 characters creates the variety. Forcing us to use less effective characters while we wait for our powerful ones is not the way to create the variety.
