OMG... I JUST WANT TO PLAY!!!!!

Sitting here, watching time tick by... losing my top 5 PvE rank as all my usable chars are either dead, BUT MOSTLY they're around 1/4 HP bar. Spent so much time working my butt off the last couple of days, was maintaining a great lead... and now it's all going to waste.

But hey, i got 3 nodes... out of the 15... worked before D3 chose to ruin this gaming experience for those of us who give a damn.

Hrm. Anyone have a good suggestion, I'm using Steam, for another game to which I can get addicted to now that I have all this free, non-playable, time on my hands?

    Kudos

That's a terrible design philosphy btw. Everyone who has played other games knows the power creep is real. And it sucks.

You mean... it would be, if everything wasn't underpowered? icon_lol.gif

    Marvel Heroes
  • This update is like a kick in the nuts of the casual players. The devs make a very clear statement that they are only and solely interested in players who pay big bucks. This true healing, no matter what the devs make up as an argument, was meant to make people pay for health packs and for 3* covers. If you dont pay up you get pwned. Period.

Thanks for the extra spare time! (For all those devs who dont get sarcasm: [sarcasm on])

    D3p just aggressive recon us...
  • Hot Dog Stand buff incoming?

They've said that they're not happy with any of the Environments, that Jungle and Desert are too strong and the rest are too weak. So I don't know what change will happen to the City, could conceivably be a Hot Dog buff.
  • This game was FANTASTIC. Keyword = 'was.' One of my favorite time-sinks of the last year, 'SADLY, it's going to be a tough road for NEW players as you'll probably only be able to play 15-20 minutes before you run out of lives and can NO LONGER HEAL your characters... yes, your characters w/ healing spells no longer cure people... they merely **** all over you in the name of health. But it's all a sham.

All good things must come to a end. TY D3 and MPQ for for a great game was, key word being 'was' one of my favorite time-sinks in the last year. Too bad it's coming to an end.
  • Created account just to post how irritating this change is. I feel like I've been "bait and switch" -ed. Like many others, I don't think this has anything to do with roster diversity, at least not to the degree they'd like us to believe.

Full disclosure: I've paid money for the game, because I love puzzle quest (back from the DS versions) and I love Marvel comics. I had a bunch of things to say, but it doesn't matter. Just shouting into the emptiness, and will probably be berated etc, because internet, but just needed to get on record for D3 (even though they probably won't care) and say that a formerly OBSESSIVE player is now quitting because of this revision.

Because they couldn't wait to do it until after an event
Because they still haven't fixed the Sunder bug, but can screw the player base on time

    Etc. etc.

Later D3, you fleeced me good, and have made me feel like a sucker. I will haunt your reviews scores for every game you ever publish for ever, despite you having STATED OUT LOUD that you don't care.

If I WAS part of the p2w problem, I ain't anymore.

    Good luck everyone.

you are kidding yourself. this is all about having to buy health packs. not "pay to win" cause there is no guarantee you will win. this is about "pay to compete/play".

I actually agree with him. I don't think this was a money grab. I think it was more of a knee-jerk Dev reaction that "people aren't playing the game the way we intended them to play it".

The problem with making changes based on that reaction is that this change inhibits people from playing the game. Which fundamentally strikes me as a terrible idea for player retention, forcing people to play less. Some people will adapt and keep going similar to before. Some will continue to play, but play less--leaving them more downtime to explore other games that will eventually draw some of that group away quicker then then otherwise would have happened. And some will quit completely.

It seems unlikely to me that the end result will be a positive net to D3 in terms of player retention or revenue generation.

IceIX promised us in his last chat that the healing change would make players Hulk Smash ANGRY and boy was he ever right!

    .

The newest players won't have a problem, because none of this happens when you are playing in 1* land.

This game has a very major problem, design-wise: While at the micro level it rewards you for advancing, at the macro level, it punishes you. Rewards get worse, making mistakes is more expensive. It might work on people that will gladly pay a whole lot of money to try to mimic the 1* experience, but overall it seems designed to lose people.

Just had my first couple of nerf dogs... slathered with enough mustard... they weren't that bad.

What difference does it make between a temporary boost of 50HP or a true healing of 50HP on a 7500HP hero when the next Juggs match hits for 100+?

For the record I didn't get angry at all. Just sad. For the fact that stupidity seem always win. And because this game had so much potential but was cruised down the drain instead allocating all the resources to crippling changes.

OK, after my sarcastic comment on the previous page I promised myself that i would not waste any more time posting on this topic but, mouser, I simply cannot agree with your first statement.
The only change to come from this is to make people feel they have to purchase health packs and thus spend money just to play. When the option to deal with a change is to spend then it is a cash grab pure and simple.
If it wasn't intended as cash grab and they really want people to field more diverse rosters then stop selling health packs and leave us with the regenerating ones so that we have to use a more diverse roster to play when our main team is down and we wait for the health packs.
Or reduce the regen time for characters significantly, not the slight improvement they have made, and let us play with the teams we want.

    Well played...
  • That's me done. Far too obviously a cash grab.
  • Here to add my drop in the bucket of complaints that will be ignored.
Low-level players - unaffected. They won't know the cool-down slog that awaits them.
High-level - small effect. They can stomp everyone else with minimal loss of hit points.
Money players - rich-get-richer. "You want to buy health packs? Well here's the game on a silver platter. We're sorry you used to have competition for all of the top tier rewards."
The rest of us - "We don't care that you were willing to grind so that you could advance at a moderate rate."

I have put a small amount of money into my play ($100 for unlocking slots). I'm tempted to just walked away and call it a wash. The decision will be easier to make as I find another game to fill the time with all of my new-found down-time.

I hope that they see a vast drop-off in players and rethink the decision. ("Hope", but don't believe it will happen).
