So far so good. Really enjoying this event. Who knows whether this scaling will make it impossible down the road or not but for now I am having a blast.
Only complain I have with the event is the rewards. The highly trained tokens are pretty garbage for most since the only 3* are Rags, IM40 and Loki which I am sure people have at least 1-2 if not all three maxed by now. I only need 2 purple lokis and the fact I have no chance in pulling one of the other 3* guys I need kind of sucks. However small point and who knows maybe its just me that doesnt need these rewards.0

I'm a bit confused about what I've been reading about the event being reset every 8 hours? Does it mean that the lowered point values through multiple battles will be reset or that the rewards already gotten will be rest so that you can get them again?0

 It's quite a vicious cycle.
If you don't play the missions, the levels of them will creep up as the global population finishes plays them.
As people notice that the levels are becoming out of hand, they will attempt to play them and collect the rewards as fast as possible before they become unreachable... which in turn hastens the leveling of the missions.... and so on and so forth....
With the scaling carrying over between Rounds, this is probably going to get out of hand rather quickly, short of whatever level cap ceilings are in place on each mission.
So... what's the over/under on how fast the level ceilings are reached, at least on Standard mode? (Does hard mode even have a cap below 230s?)
The only winning move is not to play.
I prefer to get the ISO while the gittin' is good. 10k on two do able missions is nothing to sneeze at even if by the next set of sub events its impossible.0

I would be shocked if this is the majority opinion. Look at all the people who post regularly that they have no chance in the villain lightning rounds without a decently leveled villain, or just look at the rosters of your next PvP bracket and see how many people have those characters maxed. Not everyone has been around since the days of 2AP Thunderclap and IM40 covers as prizes in every event, and even some who were may not be maxed out.itstime1234 wrote:Only complain I have with the event is the rewards. I think these tokens are outstanding -- gives newer players a chance to break into the lightning rounds with half-decent 3*s and work their way up.0

Fair point. Although IM40 is very easy to get compared to other 3* IMO and people who were around earlier should have a strong Rags. Loki maybe yes maybe no. Point taken though. I hope the prizes are interesting for most, just not for me. Cant win them all. Glta0

Point values, although we're not sure if its 8 hours or 12 hours yet.0

Very interesting... I decided to clear the Hard Mode first and the Rags/Doom/Juggs lvls were about 45 to begin with. Now they're lvl 73 which is fine, but their lvls in the regular mode is now 45. So my regular mode has become Hard Mode too??0

And I pulled a 4* Wolvie yellow cover from a highly trained. Literally my first useful cover in weeks. Go Highly Trained token!0

Not really sold on that. If you think grind is bad and don't want people to do it, stop giving them points.NorthernPolarity wrote:
Thanks for the explanation! I didn't think about this system reducing overall grind, since theoretically it would increase enemy levels up to a point where people slowly stop doing the missions, which can be desirable.Demiurge_Will wrote:Scaling missions individually doesn't do enough to satisfy the design goals of this feature: making our events maximally interesting for the widest possible subset of players and reducing grind. We couldn't do rewards like the 5000 Iso-8 challenge mission reward in this event in a system like that. It would either be too trivial for top-end players to get or they would be the only people that had any hope of getting it.
The 5000 ISO missions were trivial nearer the beginning of the event. Now the easy one is as hard as the hard one started out, and the hard one is already out of reach for maybe half of active players? ~170 for me; not sure if we're all seeing the same numbers this time round.
But it is probably necessary to have increasing resistance like this rather than a cut-off after a sensible number of repeats, along with rubber band shenanigans, if you want to ensure people all wind up at different scores.
More like regular is now regular and hard is actually hard. That's what it looks like here, but I've cleared everything once and we don't know what other people are seeing. We'd need one of the slacker bracket hunters to tel us what levels get tossed at them when they jump in.Knock3r wrote:Very interesting... Will do, I'm going to jump in in maybe 2-3 hours.0

Just joined hard mode starting at 83 EZ mode at 280

What level is the 5k iso fight on hard mode?0
-

Thanks. Near enough the same as mine after one clear, so presumably it is more consistent this time. I guess we'll see if it gets personalized after some disparity in grind volume sets in.doneskis wrote:Just joined hard mode starting at 83 EZ mode at 28
5k ISO on hard is actually just under 160 for me now. Could've sworn it was slightly higher before, but maybe I'm mistaken.0

Guessing I have to win a few fights to get there. Will know soon0

My Hard Mode 5000 ISO now is 158... way out of reach :S
Took damn too long trying to fish all the other rewards from previous hard-mode games... "community scaling" is so damn stupid and unfair...0
-
So I dunno of this has been said yet or not but it seems to me like the names are mixed up.
Main bracket should be called "The Simulator" and easy sub bracket should be "Simulator Basics" not vice versa.0
-
Yeah, not a fan of the community scaling; I think I'm only going to bother with each node once, but with 2 days on each of these subs, they are going to get maxed out before we even get new sub - and I understand the scaling is going to be persistent. Goodbye fun, it was nice for the ~2 hours or so that you were here.0
