  • I´m on a top 25 alliance, I dont mean to be a qq (even tho I am)
    The point is making the score lower and nerfing the sentry did no good job to people that cant play on long turns like myself and worst, now they simply shifted from the sentry meta to the xforce meta ...
    I´m not saying the nerf was wrong, I´m just saying they could make the games go faster ...

    I will say this the game should not go faster. If they make characters that can win as fast as Sentry did it will make a huge population of character worthless. What the Dev's need to do is look at the fact that if your score is above 1000 and you are unshielded for 10min+ you will loose more points then you win. This is hte reason people started shield hopping. If there was a way to allow players with high scores to actually play for 30 min at high scores more players would be usable in PVP. As it is right now X-Force is now the king at high level PVP, and the Super tanks of 4Thor and Dino Devil are probably the only deterrents since they have so much health and they will take longer to kill. Fix the high end battle and time will no longer be an issue. Speed will always be key, but if you are going to fix something don't make characters faster, allow the players to play for more than 2 matches before loosing 100+ points.
  • It depends on what you want him for. 535 is a BP build, you throw out a strike tile and deal huge aoe with cascades.

    If you have a 355 hood you still want him at 355. If you plan on always using him as a value off-the-bench nuker with ldaken, blade or BP make him 553.

    Personally I'm loving supernova at 5 because it really does give you defensive wins. Like a lot of them.

    As someone who toughed it out WITHOUT sentry (or xforce), this is golden for me.

    My life gets easier not only because Sentry bombing is gone, but players like you are also leaving in order to thin things out even more.

    What about him? Even before the nerf, his usage was on the wane because he took so long to do anything, and the game is all about speed

    Elektra black goes a long way in terms of providing a defensive character that can actually defend herself. It's also her best skill by a huge, huge margin.

    At 10 AP, I don't really seeing her getting it out before she dies with any regularity
  • Using 10 black to avoid one move is hardly a good deal when 11 black tends to kill whoever is causing the problem in the first place.

    My blue hood is at 1 so he's completely useless - hm, maybe I'll do 5-4-4 as I don't have a 5th yellow yet.

    Agreed, I have a feeling Elektra is going to be a PvE character and not a PvP meta warping character.

    Supernova over everything.

    World Rupture can be a good distraction as people try to erase the tiles instead of focusing on beneficial colors.
    It can still hit for decent damage. I've been using him more for story events than anything.

    In PvP, if you can get a Supernova off early enough in the match, you can cripple the enemy, finish them off with your surrounding heroes and then go into the next match and do it all over again before you reach for the health packs. Pair him with a healer for free attacks.

    That's what I do for free Sunders when Ares is powered up...and he gets True Health back.

    So my sentry is currently 4-5-4...should i respec him to 5-5-3 or 5-4-4 if I get the red sentry from finishing thunderbolts mountain?


    If you don't go the 3/5/5 route then your 2 choices are 5/5/3 and 5/3/5, while 4/5/4 is decent, if you plan on using Supernova at all go 5/5/3 as that build does more damage than 4/5/4 overall.

    Here's a quick chart.

    Is your hood 3/5/5? If it is stay 3/5/5 Sentry

    If you Hood is 5/5/3 then your best two options are 5/3/5 or 5/5/3.

    Do you only plan on using Sentry for his PvP featured event and only in PvE if he's required? Go 5/3/5

    Do you plan on playing Sentry in PvE even when not required? Go 5/5/3

    Self damage is not affected by strike tiles or protect tiles.
  • I've gone 5/3/5, but I have frankly used him like three times since the nerf - when he wasn't the boosted character, at which point he was still just a meat shield.

    My logic on 3 in WR is simple, its not a game ender anymore except under specifically setup situations (hood at 3/5/5 and a board that's been culled so that most of your things should still get to fire off). That doesn't even touch - as others have mentioned, having other green powers that simply trump it now. All Sentry is to me at this point is a strike tile generator with a defensive power (supernova). He simply does too much damage to himself with this lower health now, Hood is too important to other teams, and LThor does everything better for me at this point minus the strike tile.

    Am I salty? A little bit, when CMags was nerfed, I looked at his new powers and felt, he was 'changed', but still REALLY good. I struggle to have Sentry in the top 20, if only because those outside of the God and Top tiers suck so bad that he stands a chance, but I just don't understand what you would purposefully use him for short of sacrifice and being boosted.

    My Sentry is still at 5 green, and I screwed around with him some in the Easy Sim, and I've got to say, WR is now shockingly useless.

    I only use sentry now with Rocket and groot and boosted so I can do WR + Sacrifice + I got a plan when I need that kind of damage (not that often since I don't push super hard in pve).
