  • Ragnarok is the way of an over-power it is true.
Outcome was determined exile and depending on who starts writing skills for the first time with a head for redirection not the red somehow resources if you meet the specific

But elemental damage with low levels that do not appear to be 3star nerf character becomes too badly is low, damage of skill is low, I became very carry overall.

Normally supposed translation correct? Google Translator strange, is not it?

I'm not sure that he was not intended to be strong. He is one of few (are there others?) covers that have never been a reward in game. That makes him hard to get which led to people working or spending hard to get him. Don't want to accuse the devs of turning him into a cash grab but it seems to me that they could have nerfed him a long time ago (like Loki) if they were not happy with his balance rather than waiting for everyone to have him.

On the contrary. While he was not made a concrete guaranteed reward, he was available at a low chance in the all dark Avengers tourney not too long ago from the token that had a chance at a DA character. Also in consideration is that there tourneys lasted about a week prior to the first double shot, which limited variety in rewards given out to date. Further, not counting LRs, they may now just be getting around to offering him as a reward in a future tourney, and had to adjust accordingly. Also, repeating tournaments doesn't really lend itself to reward variety as well, I.e. Two thornaments, quadra double shots (also know as the early bird special at your local starbucks!).

Good point on lightening rounds. I think I got my first rags from a diabolical token but I was never strong enough to get him as a reward. Regarding making him available as a reward now, is suspect people will fight for the lower tier prizes icon_e_smile.gif

I used to play Marvel: War of Heroes. They would constantly release new cards and people would spend hundreds buying random packs and and energy packs. Then, when they didn't get what they wanted they would run to the forums, much like what a lot of people here are doing, and say things like "let's boycott this game" or "lets show the devs with our wallets!". Do you want to know what happened every time? They just released more packs and continued to make more money with each pack. Basically what I'm saying is, no matter how much you B and moan nothing will change. If you quit playing it doesn't matter to them because more people will start playing. It's the nature of F2P games which is unfortunate but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Haha, I remember playing War of Heroes as well! Do you remember the Co-op X controversy? XD I'm so glad that I stopped playing that game. The way they killed the value of every card except the newest ones (even event reward cards were devalued) killed my enthusiasm. MPQ eased my cynicism only to deepen it further with no forum presence and thoughtless nerfs.
  • That new red ability looks pretty strong. It might not be spammable like the old red, but it looks like it hits really hard. Is it really a nerf or just a change?

It does less damage than Thor's red. The way it's worded in the News and Announcement it sounds like it does a lot of damage, but it doesn't.
  • Cos you know, he had one bad skill and one OP skill.

Now he has 2 bad skills.

Time to give him a third skill. Maybe a black skill that deals direct damage when it has enough AP.
  • Not without a respec option since everybody is stuck at 5/5 both of which are awful skills now.

I think the problem is that they keep adding heroes that nobody will use because existing heroes are better. Question is do you improve the the new ones or destroy the old?

The other question is, are they nerfing the current characters so you upgrade the new ones? It is the best way to keep people upgrading and playing.

I'd love to hear from the people who actually enjoyed fighting against Rag, just watching your phone go to sleep because the an endless chain of green and red gems came pouring from the heavens.

When Rag is played by the AI, there's no chaining of powers. He can use each power once a turn. It's usually relatively straightforward to deny red, especially if you have a character on your team that can do something useful with red. Thunderclap (aside from Lighting Rounds) never did that much damage (it was 620 at level 115), and Godlike Power would generally do in the 200-400 range (but required 6 AP with 5 covers).

Yes, there are occasionally big cascades from Godlike Power, but it's actually relatively rare.

Fighting against Rag always required stringent attention paid to denial, as well as the annoyance of him being super-tanky, but really, it's much easier to deal with moderate amounts of incoming damage each turn, than it is to deal with big burst damage.
  • With his current thunderclap ability, Rag should be 2* and not 3* anymore.
  • Well, we can just make the third skill balanced, not OP. Optimal at Rank 3

    My suggestion

    Electrical Discharge (Passive) Black
Ragnarok stores electrical energy in his body that he can discharge at will.
Every time a member of your team makes a Red match, creates a Random Green Tile on the board.

Level 2: Includes Yellow and Blue matches
    Level 3: creates 2 tiles
    Level 4: Includes Purple matches
    Level 5: Includes Black matches

I would still rather have that at 5 than any of his other skills.
  • Thor must be the next one to get nerfed. Those godly powerful characters are just wrong!
  • How about?

    Black - passive
When Ragnarok has 4 red AP, he reverts to his pre-nerf state.

Level 2: requires 3 red AP
Level 3: requires 2 red AP
Level 4: requires 1 red AP
Level 5: always in pre-nerf state.

Ha that game was so addicting, I made some good money off of it tho, selling everything I had earned thru PayPal right before that lame co op tournament. My team was sick, I ran black iron man fully over boosted galactus fully over boosted, magneto, and doom. It wasn't fair but the $800 I got for them was lol
  • If you're going no nerd him, give him a THIRD POWER!

Nah, he should be 4*, given that he is now as worthless as all of the rest of the 4* covers.
  • Just realized the nerf, when I wanted to play one or two matches in the IM40-tournament this morning. Well, don't let us call it nerfing, but deleting. Why should I use my lvl 89 Rag, if my lvl 85 Thor outclasses him in all matters? The stars of the covers are really standing for their rarity, but not their strength, that's for sure. It doesn't speak for D3, if they are not able to balance a game, which is so simple compared to other games.
  • My biggest complaint is my rag wasn't high enough to enjoy while he kicked **** icon_e_sad.gif

Certainly seems to be over nerfed, though.
